ok all jokes aside, the aesthetic does look cool, it's too early to tell how the game will be obviously, but its just... Megaman classic again...? This feels like Sega's obsession with Classic Sonic and Green Hill Zone.
It looks exactly like Mega Ma 11, which isn't a bad thing, but... the wait between 9 and 10 was about a year and a half. And between 11 and 12 will be 9 years. Couldn't they have advanced the art style a little bit in that time?
I'm just sad we might have to deal with crappy Mega Man 11 knockback. I hated it so much in that game. It just felt off. I will have roughly 10 years to improve it so I hope they do as well as his walking animation.
I know. I hated that knockback. worst one of all the different styles they've had. it's like a mix of the worst aspects of the other ones. you got the falling when hit midair of the NES games, but the instant pushback of mega man 8. even protoman's double knockback was better.
I am happy with this, actually. It's just a new series entry that tries to build on 11, and potentially improves design-wise. Instead of trying to be "innovative" or throw away the series' gameplay just to appeal to people, it seems to be purely focused on iteration and aesthetical improvements. Pretty good, I didn't expect that from Capcom!
Rock's design at the closing shot from the trailer reminds me of "X Ver.Ke". Let's just hope that this game is indeed the beginning of a major return for the series to "core IP" as Capcom stated earlier.
Beyond excited. So cool to see battle damage there in the trailer. Really nice touch!
ReplyDeleteI see gamma
ReplyDeleteI don't. I see big robot. It's not Gamma.
DeleteOh wait, now I see what you mean.
DeleteGamma’s on the schematic in the middle of the third image. You can even just about see Wily, kinda weird for a blueprint to have…

ReplyDeleteOne of the sad things about it being so long since Mega Man 11 is people clearly don't remember what 11 looked like.
