In recent years, the Mega Man and Devil May Cry series have crossed paths in various ways—from the Mega Buster appearing in Devil May Cry 5 to Dante and Vergil influencing the designs of new characters in Mega Man X DiVE. Now, with the launch of a new Devil May Cry anime, Mega Man makes a standout cameo in one of the episodes.
In the third episode, a convoy transports a valuable target. During a scene where one of the truck drivers talks to his coworkers, a small detail catches the eye: a Mega Man figure sitting on the truck’s dashboard!
Capcom has also collaborated with Netflix to adapt Onimusha and Resident Evil for television. With DMC's showrunner Adi Shankar frequently sharing his love for Mega Man on Twitter, how would you feel if he took on the Blue Bomber?
That would be honestly cool if he'd took on a mega man anime project.
ReplyDeleteI like how this cameo perfectly encapsulates the current state of the franchise: as a mere prop to look at and reminisce, but not to be played with.
ReplyDeleteI loved Dredd, Castlevania, and now DMC. PLEASE MAKE A MEGA MAN X ANIME. I think Adi Shankar gets it, even if there are a lot of fans from each series that disagree. I feel he gets the characters exactly right, and puts a spin on each story. Which is what I personally want.
ReplyDeleteIt also made a mention about Raccoon city, (a tie in with Resident Evil!) I wish it would’ve been a short anime about it!!
