Deleted Secret Level Mega Man Scene Featuring Metal Man, More Robot Masters

More behind-the-scenes goodies from the Mega Man episode of Secret Level continues to surface. This time, we have an animatic of the news report scene, which appears to be a much longer version than what made it into the final cut. While the finished episode only briefly mentions Metal Man and other Robot Masters, animator Guzzu’s showcases a massive Metal Man, Elec Man, and Fire Man wreaking havoc on Mega City.

"We aimed a 'found footage', 'news reporter on the ground vibe, writes Guzzu on Instagram. "Inspired from the 2008’s Clover Fields handheld camera shoot."

The footage extends even further to include a deleted scene where a despondent Rock watches the crisis unfold. Dr. Light then enters, offering exposition on the unfolding disaster:

Guzzu writes, "Due to tight deadlines, our main priority at the time was to squeeze enough information at the span of 5 minutes for this episode. I utilized Blender with VISION GP and it helped me tremendously. "

It certainly seems like the episode was originally envisioned to have more depth than the final cut. Hopefully, with Secret Level Season 2, we’ll get to see more of this take on Mega Man.

  1. They should've kept the second deleted scene in the episode. Here's hoping for season two having mega man.

  2. I mean it’s cool, and definitely explains why the episode was so short, but man, idk if I can vibe with all the boss-type Robot Masters being so big. I can forgive Bomb Man, since he was already a little “heavy,” and it fits well for an explosive type. But Metal Man and Fire Man, fairly average robots? Elec Man, known for high speed (it even shows him zapping around as a 3~ story robot!)?

  3. Mmm... yeah, I think I've had enough kaiju-sized Robot Masters.

  4. Is it possible for them to do mega man battle network and mega man star force?
