Collaboration Event Between Rockman and Game Freak's Pandoland Announced

Game Freak, the developers behind Pokémon, have announced a collaboration event with Rockman in their free-to-play mobile RPG, Pandoland

While details remain somewhat vague, the event—running from February 28th to March 14th—will introduce several classic series characters, including Rockman, Blues, and Forte. Players will be able to explore an event-exclusive "Robot Island" alongside Rockman and friends, facing off against Dr. Wily and some familiar Robot Masters.

Pandoland is currently available in Japan and is set for a global release this April. Unfortunately, the Rockman event will have concluded by then, meaning those outside Japan will have to rely on gameplay footage and screenshots to get our fill. We'll have some of that to share later this week.

You can find out more about Pandoland from the game's official site. Pre-registration for the English version is now open on the Google Play Store.

Sega Reveals Rockman Luminasta Figure

Capcom and Sega's UFO catcher partnership continues with the reveal of a new Rockman Luminasta figure. Based on his appearance in Rockman 11, this figure will be available in Japanese UFO catchers later this summer, Sega announced.

Sega’s Luminasta line features 6- to 7-inch non-posable figures inspired by characters from anime, manga, and video games, offered as redemption prizes in amusement centers. Fortunately for collectors, these figures are often available through online retailers like Big Bad Toy Store.  They’re also reasonably priced, usually going for $23 to $40, depending on where you look.

Sega promises more details soon, but for now, it’s hard not to wonder—could more Rockman characters be next in line for the Luminasta treatment? The announcement tweet refers to it as "Rockman Luminasta 'Rockman'," which suggests that 'Rockman Luminasta' is a dedicated sub-line rather than a one-off figure.

Mega Man Battle Network Legacy Collection Sales Top 1.60 Million

Tucked away in Capcom's Q3 FY2024 supplemental materials, it’s confirmed that Mega Man Battle Network Legacy Collection has sold 1.60 million units (up 200,000 units from previous report). This figure represents the combined sales of Volume 1 and Volume 2 across all platforms. However, since neither volume individually reached one million units, the collection is not included in Capcom's Platinum Titles list.

Mega Man Battle Network Legacy Collection currently holds the record as the fastest-selling game in the franchise, surpassing one million units within its first two weeks. Released in April 2023, the game is on track to become one of the series' best-selling entries. At this pace, it’s not hard to imagine it matching or surpassing Mega Man 11's 2 million units, a milestone that took seven years to reach.

Mega Man 11 Sales Top 2 Million, Highest Selling Game in the Franchise

Capcom updated their Platinum Titles list today, confirming that Mega Man 11 has sold 2 million units worldwide as of December 31, 2024. This makes it the best-selling game in the franchise, surpassing Mega Man Legacy Collection (1.60M) and Mega Man 2 (1.51M).

Originally released in 2018, Mega Man 11 has maintained steady sales over seven years as an evergreen "catalog title"—Capcom's classification for software that continues generating revenue through extended promotion, discounts, and bundle sales. Digital catalog titles account for a significant portion of Capcom's profits, with Mega Man 11 contributing alongside other Mega Man titles released in recent years.

While not the fastest-selling title in the franchise—that honor goes to Mega Man Battle Network Legacy CollectionMega Man 11 has accomplished a feat no other game has in the series' 38-year history. To think there was a time when so many Mega Man games couldn't even crack 500,000 or even 100,000 copies, this milestone was once just a pipe dream.
