Kotobukiya MM11 Scramble Thunder & Pile Drive Kits Due in June

In November last year, Kotobukiya suspended reservations for Mega Man 11 Scramble Thunder and Pile Driver kits due to  nonspecific "unforeseen circumstances." However, today, reservations have reopened on Kotobukiya's online store, with a scheduled release date set for June.

Reservations should be opening up at other stores soon, such as Big Bad Toystore, HobbyLink Japan, etc.

Mega Man Battle Network Legacy Collection Sales Top 1.60 Million

Tucked away in Capcom's Q3 FY2024 supplemental materials, it’s confirmed that Mega Man Battle Network Legacy Collection has sold 1.60 million units (up 200,000 units from previous report). This figure represents the combined sales of Volume 1 and Volume 2 across all platforms. However, since neither volume individually reached one million units, the collection is not included in Capcom's Platinum Titles list.

Mega Man Battle Network Legacy Collection currently holds the record as the fastest-selling game in the franchise, surpassing one million units within its first two weeks. Released in April 2023, the game is on track to become one of the series' best-selling entries. At this pace, it’s not hard to imagine it matching or surpassing Mega Man 11's 2 million units, a milestone that took seven years to reach.

Mega Man 11 Sales Top 2 Million, Highest Selling Game in the Franchise

Capcom updated their Platinum Titles list today, confirming that Mega Man 11 has sold 2 million units worldwide as of December 31, 2024. This makes it the best-selling game in the franchise, surpassing Mega Man Legacy Collection (1.60M) and Mega Man 2 (1.51M).

Originally released in 2018, Mega Man 11 has maintained steady sales over seven years as an evergreen "catalog title"—Capcom's classification for software that continues generating revenue through extended promotion, discounts, and bundle sales. Digital catalog titles account for a significant portion of Capcom's profits, with Mega Man 11 contributing alongside other Mega Man titles released in recent years.

While not the fastest-selling title in the franchise—that honor goes to Mega Man Battle Network Legacy CollectionMega Man 11 has accomplished a feat no other game has in the series' 38-year history. To think there was a time when so many Mega Man games couldn't even crack 500,000 or even 100,000 copies, this milestone was once just a pipe dream.

Want More Mega Man Games Re-released on PC? Vote on GOG's Dreamlist

Hot on the heels of the enhanced re-releases of Dino Crisis and Dino Crisis 2, GOG has announced Dreamlist—a community-driven initiative where users can vote on games they'd like to see revived or added to GOG. These votes will help GOG collaborate with IP holders to navigate licensing, rights, and technical hurdles to bring selected games to the platform, DRM-free, forever.

A number of Mega Man titles are already on Dreamlist, including several that aren't officially available on modern hardware or storefronts—such as Mega Man Legends 1 & 2, Command Mission, and even Powered Up. While GOG primarily hosts games with prior PC releases, Dreamlist makes it clear that any game can be suggested, regardless of platform history.

Capcom has previously worked with GOG to release enhanced ports of Resident Evil 1–3 and, more recently, Dino Crisis 1 & 2. These versions feature support for 4K displays, modern controllers, Windows 10/11 compatibility, and other improvements. Given this track record, it’s not far-fetched to imagine, at the very least, Legends 1 & 2 receiving similar treatment if there's enough demand.

Head over to Dreamlist, search for your favorite games, and cast your vote!

Capcom Reveals Mettaur Gashapon Keychains

Rockman EXE fans looking to grow their virus collection are in for a treat—Capcom has announced a new line of collectible rubber keychains featuring the iconic Mettaur. The keychains will be available from gashapon machines at Capcom's Capsule Lab and Capcom Store locations in Japan, as well as online starting January 31st (keep an eye peeled to your favorite import shops and proxy services).

The keychains come in five variations: classic yellow, V2, V3, SP, and EX. Measuring around 3.2 cm, they’re small enough to attach to keys, bags, or even use as cute desk decorations. Just a heads-up—the capsule toy versions will be sold in random assortments, while the retail and online versions will follow a trading-style format. That means you might need a bit of luck to collect all five designs.

Concept Art Shows Gamma Was Considered for Secret Level's Mega Man Episode

The Mega Man episode of Secret Level showcased a larger-than-life Bomb Man who, after being corrupted by Dr. Wily, turned rogue against Rock and Dr. Light. However, early in the episode's production, it's been revealed that Bomb Man was initially conceived as Gamma—the gentle giant created by Dr. Light and Dr. Wily in Mega Man 3.

Review: Kotobukiya Axl

The X series has brought us plenty of fun and unforgettable characters over the years—whether it’s Gate’s over-the-top personality, Berkana’s striking design, or the enduring legend of Green Biker Dude. But while the series is packed with fantastic characters, if you’re not X or Zero, getting merchandise is pretty unlikely. That said, since 2003, there’s a third major character who hardly ever gets the spotlight... until now.

Kotobukiya has thrown their hat into the ring by finally bringing us the first new character in their Mega Man X  line: Axl. Is this kit worth the wait? Stick around, and we’ll dive into everything it brings to the table!

My Arcade Reveals Mega Man Pixel Pocket Pro

On display at this year's Consumer Electronics Show, the My Arcade Mega Man Pixel Pocket Pro is a keychain gaming device small enough to fit in your pocket or hang off your backpack. It includes—you guessed it—Mega Man 1 through 6.

With a 2-inch screen and a questionable A and B button layout, the Pixel Pocket Pro may not be the ideal—or even comfortable—way to play these games. It's more of a novelty than anything. But if you're interested, it'll you back $19.99 when it hits retailers later this year.

My Arcade is also re-releasing the larger Mega Man Pocket Player Pro from a couple of years ago, bundled with a new carrying case. It’s a more practical choice for longer handheld gaming sessions, but if you’re not drawn to the novelty, there are better ways to play the first six NES games.

Mr. Mega Man and Little Mega Man Volume 2 Available to Pre-Order

With Mr. Mega Man and Little Mega Man set to make their English language debut later this month, Udon Entertainment are wasting no time preparing their second volumes. Mr. Mega Man Volume 2 and Little Mega Man Volume 2 are now available to pre-order from Amazon, due on June 9th and June 30th, respectively. The cover art isn't available yet, but it's expected to match the Japanese versions shown above.

Here are the official solicitations:

Mr. Mega Man Volume 2 - When Mega Man grows up, he must face his greatest challenge of all... life as an adult! The battles with Dr. Wily are in the past, and Mega Man has grown up in a peaceful world. Now spending his days as a dentist, Mega Man has begun to notice a rise in strange, robot-related incidents. As a result, he must once again use his great power to protect the world and uncover the mastermind behind this mystery…

Little Mega Man Volume 2 - The endless battle between Dr. Light and Mega Man continues! The Blue Bomber encounters more wacky new robots such as… Demon Man! Sushi Man! Plasma TV Man…? Plus, meet the very shiny European Mega Man! And is that… X and ZERO!? It’s all-out zany adventures in LITTLE MEGA MAN!

It's worth mentioning that until Udon makes an official announcement, the release dates listed may be placeholders and subject to change. However, a five-month gap between the first and second volumes seems reasonable. If that holds true, we can expect the third and final volumes around November-December.
