Mega Man X DiVE Official Complete Works Now Available to Pre-Order

Udon Entertainment's English translation of Mega Man X DiVE Official Complete Works, first announced in July, is now available for pre-order on Amazon. The 256-page hardcover artbook is set to ship on March 25, 2025, though this date may be tentative pending confirmation from Udon.

Here's the official solicitation:

"Collecting the artwork behind the fan-favorite game -- Mega Man X DiVE! This action-platforming adventure has written a new chapter in the era of Mega Man X. Classic characters X, Zero, and Axl are joined by newcomers like RiCO, iCO, and ViA, plus guest characters from across the Mega Man franchise. Included in this collection are character designs, rough concepts, key art, and plenty of creator commentary. Plus, enjoy an exclusive interview with the game’s developers!"

The English cover art has not been revealed yet, but if previous Udon-published Official Complete Works are any indication, it will likely match the original Japanese edition shown above.

With pre-orders now open for X DiVE Official Complete Works, along with Mr. Mega Man and Little Mega Man, Udon’s 2025 Mega Man lineup is shaping up. Stay tuned for more updates on the upcoming Legacies art book, as well as new comic book releases.

  1. I’ll buy it, I need every Mega Man artbook.

  2. I might get this. I really hope they reprint the X and Zero complete works cause I missed out on those and the resellers are being ridiculous.

  3. You know for all the ish I had to say about Dive. I sorely do miss that game. Might actually pick this up

  4. The one time I thought a book would get stuck in Japan these people port it real quick forcing me to buy in twice if I want it.... Sigh... Such is life.

  5. Well, I personally feel it is time to move on from dive or gacha (more than enough years have been devoted to that) and start another game/games that are sequels to what we know and love. I know in this day and age, that is likely too much to ask, but just saying how I feel and what I wish. I can't say it enough, so it gets repetitive, but it must be emphasized, and I'm sure most here agree. Though I'm realistic enough not to expect much at this point, but also never say never.

    1. Well... To be fair, I guess, the only GOOD things to come out of this game were the music and the artwork. That's it.

    2. The artwork deserves to be preserved, this is probably all we are getting.

    3. There's also X DiVE Offline, which is surprisingly really good. They recently just came out with a mod restoring the Monster Hunter collab content too, aside from the event stage due to complications. I definitely recommend giving it a shot if you haven't had the chance already, it's the most fun I've had with anything Mega Man related in a while.

    4. You're trying too hard.

    5. Realistically, we'll eventually have multiple sequels and remakes. They've just about ran out of juice to milk collections with.

      Delete
    6. They could make a game based on the Cardass with Limited. They won't, though. I don't know if people really liked that whole thing to begin with.

    7. @rs protoman, you mean Megamissions?

    8. Honestly, I could see a remake of the SNES X trilogy with new content based off Mega Missions. But even then, they’d probably just do something relatively easy like Vile Mode, haha.

    9. @Jack, maybe from fans but I doubt Capcom themselves would want to put any effort in anything Mega Man related.

    10. Honestly, I would love more official games, but between fan games, romhacks and 2D action platformers I never tried before (old and new), I can wait.

  6. One of these characters are not like the others, at least not in looks or visual cohesion. (That character is X by the way, in case it wasn't obvious enough)

    1. The only thing that makes X stand out next to the others is his helmet.

      Delete
    2. And the fact that his iris is long and thin, and he doesn't have predominantly white and gold accented armor with a neck/chest piece looking element and does have an overwear looking element. Just sayin...

      Delete
    3. I gotta admit, his iris shape is not something I really thought about.

      Delete
    4. That’s how his eyes were drawn in the 90s as well, what is the big deal?

      Delete
    5. To be fair, the eye disparity has been part of the series since, appropriately enough, Iris. Generally, they don’t give thin irises to girl characters, and are more likely to just give everyone big cute irises, like in X8, Zero, and ZX.

    6. X was created before all the other reploids, so him looking a little simpler next to them is to be expected. You'd get the same effect if he was in a room with Axl, Alia, Layer, and Palette.

      Delete
    7. Also RiCo, ViA, and ICO aren't exactly regular reploids, their like programs in the deep log or smth

      Delete
    8. No, Axl and most other males have long and thin irises... Axl's iris isnt "big and cute". In fact Axl looks nearly identical to X outside of the scare on his face... And his general armor/body, but I mean facially...

    9. @3:36 AM you seem to be replying to everyone else all at the same time and missing the point of what each individual person was saying.

    10. @11:25 AM: No.

"You'd get the same effect if he was in a room with Axl, Alia, Layer, and Palette"

I am only responding to this guy. If it were the case he described, it wouldn't be the same effect because Axl is drawn in the same facial artstyle as X. Axl also has a helmet and has a similar pelvis area to X. Not to mention Axl, Alia and Layer have radically different color schemes.

I was saying you would not have the same effect even if Axl is more detailed than base X. Zero is more detailed than base X but still shares a lot of his design template and artstyle.

    11. @12:50 PM The same could be said about RiCO, iCO, and ViA. They have their differences, but they have their similarities too. Two of the three have the large shoulder guards, all three have the giant boots, they all have the synthetic skin in places that aren't their face, etc. If they showed up in the next X series game and we got the explanation that they were next gen Reploids I wouldn't be at all shocked by it.

      Delete
    12. @4:03 PM: I didn't say they didn't have similarities and differences. Yes, if we go broad enough they have two hands a mouth etc. I was saying Axl wouldn't be the same difference between X as they are. Also I was saying Axl shares barely any color themes with Alia, Layer and Pallette, nor do they amongst each other, so it wouldn't be the same as the three you mentioned who do have similar color schemes.

In other words, an image with X, Axl, Layer and Pallette composed like this one, would have 2 male-types with very different designs that share a design template, and 3 female-types that have very different designs but with a similar design template. So them being very different would actually help the cohesion of the composition, rather than three being relatively uniform and one standing out like a sore thumb.

      Delete
    13. @10:05 PM Not really. X has been starting to stand out like a sore thumb in his world for a while and it's only been getting more apparent with time. Already him next to Zero is a more simplistic design and the two were created in-lore around the same time. Then you've got Sigma with all the intricacies in his design compared to how basic X looks, and it only gets worse as others such as Alia started getting introduced. X is already ancient within his own world, and by the time you get to stuff like Lumine he's only sticking out even more.

Think about it like this; he's the OG, he's got basic armor that's very straight to the point with no unnecessary details. He's the very template that all the other Reploids after him were based on. Expecting him not to stand out at this point is therefore kind of silly, because the fact that he stands out is a big part of his place in the lore as time goes on. He's like a PS1 surrounded by PS3's to PS5's. They may all look flashy standing next to him, but he's the reason they exist at all.

      Delete
    14. @8:54am That is a delightfully great way to look at it.

      Delete
    15. On top of that, the SNES-era Reploids look far more inhuman/monstrous than the later ones on average.

      Delete
    16. @8:54 AM: Yeah but what does all that have to do with anything I said? Sigma, is obviously not going to share the same design structure of X, Zero and Axl. X looking plain is not what separates him from the three characters in the above image, at least in the same way as the others you've mentioned. It's the fact that the others look similar in design and color where X doesn't, like the color theme, or the helmet, or the eyes etc. Sigma is as different to X in a similar way, but there aren't many other characters that look like sigma in the same way those three above look.to each other.

The stuff you're talking about are red herrings and have nothing to do with what I'm talking about. You're trying to make some kind of broad statement about how X stands out in various ways amongst other characters in the series. I'm trying to make a specific distinction or correction from somebody saying that Axl, Alia, Layer and Pallette would have the same effect as RiCO, iCO, and ViA next to X (even their names are oddly themed cohesively and different to X).

      Delete
    17. @5:20 I would have thought with Sigma it'd have to do with the role he was built for. He's essentially a military leader.

      Delete
    18. @5"20 PM RiCO, iCO, and ViA have cohesion next to each other because they're all part of a set. In X DiVE they are the "administrators" of the Deep Log. The Deep Log is a program (it's actually a pre-existing program in the X series, but I won't spoil which one) that has started to become corrupted and self aware, and has split up itself into multiple different personalities some of which desire to repair the corrupted data and others which want the data to remain corrupted so they can continue to exist. That's about as much as I can say without spoiling too much of the story. Among these split personalities are these three, so it's only natural that they would fit in with each other and X wouldn't fit in with them. He's not a part of their set.

Basically, they look alike because they are alike. X by far predates them all, so just like with any other set of characters such as the operators X is going to seem a little bit off standing next to them. He's not a part of their set. It's really that simple. Again, expecting X to fit in amongst really anyone from 21XX onward is quite silly because he's not going to be a part of any of their sets. They are all advancements in technology that trace backwards to him similar to how more advanced gaming consoles can be traced backwards to older models that don't look as flashy next to them. He's too advanced to fit in with the other robots from 20XX, but too ancient to fit in with any other reploids.

Which program is it? I don't mind spoilers.

      Delete
    20. @1:00 AM Sorry but while you may not mind spoilers, others here reading might. This is an open conversation, and I wouldn't want to spoil others. I'll give you a hint though, it's related to the personality of a certain popular character.

    21. I'm pretty sure the program was in Cyberspace and related to the Sigma Virus or something.

    22. Bruh, “it was actually Wily/Sigma all along” is Mega Man plot twist 101. It would be a better twist if it was Bad Box Art Mega Man!

    24. @Jark Spore "It was actually Wily/Sigma all along" doesn't happen in X DiVE.

    25. @1:00 AM
I gotchu fam, the Deep Log is a section of Cyberspace which is made of and stores game data of the entire franchise and subdivides itself by memories of each player, not a program. At one point, prior to the events of the story, it was installed with the "Robot Destroy Program". The program causes errors, Irregular Data in the Deep Log. The computer world gave ViA, the administrator of the Deep Log whose appearance is derived from Zero, the mission to be the host of the program. The program then "births" other self-aware programs like iCO and other original characters who all are similar to Irregular Data, and RiCO was created from splitting off from iCO's data. They also unknowingly act as hosts that spread the "Robot Destroy Program" so it can be installed anywhere. This program was a system program that was first installed on Zero all the way back prior to X1. It's safe to assume the one that installed it was Wily either physically or as a host program after he died so yes Wily is indirectly the cause of everything.

      Delete
    26. @1:46 AM Wily is indirectly the cause of everything that happens after the classic series, but yes he had no actual intention of causing these events and is at best indirectly responsible. The actual "villain" of the story ends up being ViA, who was the one going around spreading program errors. He didn't have any outright malicious intentions however, and seemed to have been just coming up with fun scenarios, kind of like Fu in Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2. He ends up deciding to go ahead and let the program error be corrected after befriending Player and RiCO as he was starting to feel regrets about being less than honest about his true identity and motivations, but challenges Player to one last spar between the two of them so that he can go out in a blaze of glory.

Can't spoil what's already rotten. @9:01 AM anon states that this is an open conversation even though he already spoiled the fact that the Deep Log is important and even then he got it wrong by calling it a program. This is the result of an arrogant Dive shill that doesn't even know what he's shilling. Thank you Capcom for pairing the fans with the Megaman equivalent of Disney Star Wars fans although Battle Network fans could be considered the original incarnation of this type of "fans."/s. What a catastrophe.
