Kotobukiya Shows off MM11 Mega Man "Premium Charge Shot" Edition

You thought the Premium Charge Shot redeco of MegaMan.EXE was random? Well, check this out. At Kotobukiya's All Japan Model & Hobby Show booth, they've unveiled a Premium Charge Shot version of the Mega Man 11 Mega Man kit.

Like their previous premium releases, this Mega Man is covered in shiny, polarized plating to mimic the Charge Shot effect. The kit is expected to come with all the accessories and effect parts from the original, though the Buster Shot effect will likely be recolored to match the new finish.

That's all the info for now—no details on price or availability yet. We'll keep you posted as we learn more.

  1. With all these stealth drops lately, it feels like they're making up for lost time!

  2. Shiny! I should be expecting a Premium Charge Shot of X, then?

    1. Scratch that, meant to say Zero.

    2. Maybe. The only time Zero really charged was in X3. Even in the Zero series, it wasn’t the usual “palette swap” charge effect. It would definitely still look cool.

    3. Capcom should have never got rid of Zeros charge shot in the X series.

  3. Now both him and X can be shiny!

  4. It looks cool but hopefully the finish is more durable than the X charge kit, the finish on the X scraped off very easily.

  5. Still waiting to see what that mystery silhouette was back at the start of the year...

    1. I am curious about it as well, some kind of info should have been said by now.

  6. The "briefs" can be shiny?

    1. Imagine not having shiny briefs smh...

    2. The next step is coloring him after the EU MM2 cover. With actual chrome.

    3. Now with MORE paint chipping! >:3

  7. Since my last comment wasn't approved I'll say it again, hopefully the finish is more durable this time because the charge shot X had issues with the finish scraping off and flaking off.

    1. Yup I can verify this while I was on IG another guy had his premium X lose some of the effect paint by simply touching it. A good way to protect it is coating it yourself with your chosen product the right ones look no different out of the box. Don't ask me what ones no ones ever helped me but I "pointed" in the right direction for you at least. Happy hobbying.

    2. I would think it depends on what the plastic and paint are made of. Maybe some kind of sealing spray? Like the kind used to prevent drawings from smudging when they're finished?

    3. I remember hearing about this, I made it a point to assemble mine with clean hands, pose it, then display it. I can say that the finish won't come off just on its own, so I recommend just trying to limit messing with it further after putting it together.

    4. Too bad they didn't plate it like the 90s bandai x kits instead of the metallic coating koto used.

  8. I already commented I don't like recolors... I don't want to sound like a hater or something but geeze...

Plus! They already announced TWO versions of MegaMan with his special weapons! This kit is really unnecessary (in my opinion)

And personally I don't like the way these versions shine... I would prefer a metallic version like D-Arts did but that's my personal taste.
Anyways, I hope they announce Sigma soon

    1. I thought it was a neat effect, at least when they started with X. Though I’d like to see figures with the actual charge palettes from the games when applicable.

    2. I am not a huge fan of palette swaps (with exceptions). If you take into account every version of Rockman so far, there are over 100 palette swaps. Which is why I don't like going down the collector route on that, you'll NEVER get to the end.

    3. I don’t think there’s that many. Most weapon colors in the NES games are used *at least* 3 or 4 times, I don’t think Hyper Bomb and Leaf Shield would be distinct besides accessories.

But I do agree about weapon forms in general, they’re a necessary evil really, both here and in the Jada line. I just like weird charge palettes, like Rainbow Zero from X3.

    4. If you go by the artwork, Leaf Shield and Hyper Bomb are different shades of green. With different accent colors. So, yea.

    5. Sometimes I feel like these recolors are just placeholders while they develop more kits behind the scenes. Though it's a bit ridiculous announcing a Axl recolor when the normal kit hasn't even released yet.

    6. I agree with Shrap. Going that route is a really bad idea...
I think the only pallette swaps that make sense are Black Zero, White Axl, Dark MegaMan.exe and MAYBE MegaMan 11 weapons since MegaMan's design changes a little

    7. Honestly I'm hoping these recolors aren't going to be the new trend going forward with Koto, I'd rather have more armors and characters.
