Rockman EXE The Movie: Program of Light and Darkness Coming to Amazon Video (Japan)

In 2023, an HD remastered version of Rockman EXE The Movie: Program of Light and Darkness was streamed on YouTube for a limited time to celebrate the release of the Rockman EXE Advanced Collection. Although the movie was removed shortly after, it now appears to have a permanent home on Amazon Japan, marking the first time the film will be available for indefinite streaming.

Digital pre-orders are open on Amazon Japan for 330 yen. Anime Times subscribers can watch it for free, but this perk is only available to Amazon Prime Japan members. An Amazon Japan account is required to purchase and download the movie.

There's no word yet on supported subtitle languages, but based on the previous stream, it's unlikely that English or other languages will be available.

    1. You mean the video file on two different HDDs, two copies of each just in case something goes wrong and an off-site copy on grandma's PC for good measure.
You can have it on your account, but no matter which service it is, they can always just take the license back like they tend to do these days or the service could cease to exist completely.

    3. So I looked it up, and apparently you *do* need a Japanese credit card for Prime video JP… You think it’d be easier to download a video than ordering physical items, but that’s the hyper-conservative nation of Japan for yah.

  4. You should still be able to get it. Amazon Japan lets you make an account regardless of region. Though I’m not familiar with digital media on AZJP, I don’t see why it wouldn’t let you at least buy it.

  5. It would be nice to be able to get the complete series plus movie uncut on Blu-ray in the US at some point.

  7. Is it really that difficult to just make an international release with subtitles?

    1. Seriously. Why can't they just release Mega Man NT Warrior as a complete series on blu-ray already, along with all the movies whether they were subbed or dubbed? This limited availability of airing the series on different sites is beyond ridiculous.

    2. I'd want a uncut dual language Bluray release so people could watch it in English or Japanese.

    2. And the award for the rudest and most condescending post in this thread goes to Anon at 3:15 AM, who openly admits he took it from some sketchy download site like so many purists who don't want to pay and get all their subbed anime online for free.

Your post is ridiculous, in case you're not getting it.

    4. The unfiltered seethe at the mere mention of piracy is pure comedy, legitimately hilarious.
Complete with the sketchy site dead meme from almost two decades ago.
You might've as well typed "You wouldn't download a car" while at it, you couldn't have sounded any more ridiculous.

    5. @Anon at 9:40 AM: You're the only one being ridiculous here, kiddo. There is no sketchy site meme from almost two decades ago, whatever that nonsense you're spewing is about. Now run along now back to your pirate ship. Thanks for the laugh though, since you're trying too hard.
