New ThreeZero MDLX Mega Man X Details, Zero Teased as Next Figure (Updated)

(UPDATE: Standard Edition up for pre-order on Big Bad Toystore for $44.99)

ThreeZero has revealed new details about their upcoming MDLX X figure, which is now expected to ship in the first quarter of 2025. Standing at 4.7 inches tall (just a smidge taller than the classic series figure), it features 34 points of articulation and a metal and plastic body frame. Magnets in the feet allow for dynamic poses, and the figure comes with two face plates—standard and angry—along with an interchangeable X-Buster for either arm. It also includes a Charge Shot effect piece and multiple hand options.

But, wait! There's more...

Just like with MDLX classic series Mega Man, X will be available in two editions: Standard and Event Exclusive. The Standard Edition includes everything mentioned above, while the Event Exclusive Edition adds a victory effect piece that attaches to X's forehead.

Pre-orders for the Standard Edition will be available on the ThreeZero online store starting September 15th at 9 AM HKT (September 14th, 9 PM EDT). The Event Exclusive Edition can be pre-ordered at the following exhibitions:

  • ACGGBA 2024 in Shenzehn (September 15-17th)
  • Wonder Festival 2024 in Shanghai (October 2-3rd)

The Standard Edition will also be available for purchase outside of ThreeZero’s store, including at Big Bad Toystore and other retailers. As for the Event Exclusive Edition, expect it to become available at more events and conventions beyond those already announced.

And one more thing: ThreeZero's next MDLX Mega Man figure is Zero! The teaser image above was posted on the X product pages. The figure appears to be based on Zero's post-X2 design, featuring rectangular shoulder plates and other distinctive details. We'll likely learn more about it soon, possibly at an one of those aforementioned events.

  1. I hope they sell well to make a new line of figures and make new characters out of this, crossing fingers to get another Axl to complete the trio once more, it would be sad if they just plan on making X & Zero and stop doing new figures, still waiting to Goodsmile to get the license to make a Nendo Axl ;-; well only the future will tell.

    1. I hope they continue making more x series figures as well. I'd also like to see Bass and Protoman to go with the classic Mega Man they are releasing soon.

    2. I also hope ThreeZero continues to make characters from the Rockman IP, because they make great figures at excellent prices.

I don't think the X Nendoroid sold very well, as it's still available right now (5 years later) basically at its original price, so I doubt Good Smile would go anywhere near Axl, especially without anything new coming out. X7 and X8 were not exactly well-received, nor did they sell well, so it seems pretty risky to mine those games for character designs. It's sort of a miracle Kotobukiya did an Axl kit, and I guess we'll see how well it sells. (I personally have no interest.)

(Prices on the Zero Nendoriod are CRAZY right now!)

    3. I have already pre ordered 4 Koto Axl's, and it seems pre orders of the limited and normal where out a month ago on HLJ and AmiAmi, so I guess Axl is selling relatively well, I don't think in Japan sales would be lower cuz Axl's popularity in japan is bit greater than in the west but who knows. I wish companies take risks on releasing other characters aside X & Zero but that seems kinda a rare occurrence.

    4. Kotobukiya Axl is still available for pre-order on a lot of sites, including direct from both Kotobukiya sites, so we don't really have any information. The kits in this line that have sold well are the kits that get second-runs, so we'll see then.

    5. I'm still hoping for figures of the X series stage bosses one day.

    6. Maybe Jada will get into the X series? I think I remember an interview with Juhn (who designs figures for Jada) saying (and I am definitely paraphrasing) that he was interested in other Rockman properties, but that the success of their current Capcom lines would dictate how far they could branch-out. I think it was an interview with "Veebs," formerly of Fwoosh, and I do seem to remember Juhn being specifically asked about X mavericks, and him saying he would love a chance at those character designs.

  2. I'm not against this but I don't see the point of releasing another MegaMan X figure of they won't release more characters...

    1. Who said they won't release more characters? Patience.
When has a toy line ever started without the "main" title character as the first release, or in the first wave?
This is a new IP for ThreeZero, so they're starting at the beginning.

  3. Okay, that victory pose effect is actually pretty awesome, way better than the life icon or whatever that 20XX Mega Man came with. Could’ve used a shouting face for the full effect, though.

  4. Y'know, it's silly, but I like that big green ball for the charge shot. It's so massive compared to the figure it's like leaning into the 'over the top' style I like about stuff like this.

To scale (ish) with Rockman confirmed. Head looks a little small to me but whatever.
    They tease Zero.

    1. This is an excellent spread of pics, so thanks for the link!
I was hoping that Zero silhouette might be from a product photo, but it doesn't appear to be.

  6. This looks like it might top the D-Arts and Sentinel figures, both of which are great, and (judging from the MDLX figure price-points) this will probably cost (especially compared to Sentinel) less than either of those figures were when they were released 7-13+ years ago!

It always makes me happy when I thought I already had the best version of a character figure, but then something better comes out. I also like how ThreeZero is doing their exclusive parts; neither of the "event exclusive" items announced with these figures are so good that I feel like I am missing out if I can't get them.

I'm really looking forward to this figure! ThreeZero is pretty impossible to beat at these price-points when it comes to quality and craftsmanship. There are Marvel Legends figures which cost more than some of these MDLX figs, and when has Marvel Legends ever had die-cast parts, or this much paint?

  7. Given the number of X4 references this has made… Iris figure next?

    1. Zero is probably way more likely if they do another X series figure.

  8. So I'm glad that they changed x size. That alone gives me hope for future items getting proper care. That being said, while I know the regular characters people want I would very much like to have them make more obscure characters. Like I would love to have a classic roll, or a duo from megaman 8 even. The megaman zero design and it's accessories would be great but, I would love a Tron bonne in her mech.to say nothing of a sigma.hope we could get these things in the future but, who knows.

  9. Oh look it's everything we get with Koto models but smaller. And before some schmuck says it's more durable or some irrelevant subject for an item on a wall for 25 years let me be clear "I Don't care". Plus I get to create custom colors and abilities with koto something this idea can't bring to the table. It's only less in the case of models if you lack the ability to read A4 R8 W1 etc on printed plastic. I'm of course implying only the lazy would prefer it and don't say you don't git the time lol.

    1. What are you trying to accomplish or communicate with a post like this?

Nobody in this thread compared this figure to anything Kotobukiya makes.

Also: did you decide you're not actually done with Mega Man, "lol"?
You keep saying you don't care, but here we are again: subjected to ... whatever you think this contributes. If you really didn't care: don't type anything. You can't seem to make up your mind.

Some people like action figures. Some people like model kits. Some people like both; some people like neither. People who like action figures don't really need to hear from people -- like you -- who "don't care" about action figures. If you didn't care: why are you wasting (y)our time? Enjoy your model kits, and let people who enjoy action figures enjoy those.

But, you know, since you mentioned it: this figure is fully-finished, fully-painted, and has metal parts for ... HALF the price of a Kotobukiya build-it-yourself (which sometimes can be fun) model kit.

    2. Where on earth did the hostility even come from?

    3. Y’all really should know not to feed trolls.

That said, there’s no reason you can’t paint this one. :P

    4. Excellent comment, Jark!

This particular troll though keeps popping up in multiple threads to just say they're "done with the franchise," and how they "don't care anymore" about the property, so hopefully highlighting their hypocrisy will accomplish something, but you're probably right that it's just "feeding" them (that post was totally negative and hostile for no reason, with no provocation), and they're just getting-off on the conflict and reaction.

Lots of people repaint action figures; I know I have definitely added paint to enhance several of mine. I might even argue that it's more of a challenge (in response to the troll's "lazy" comment) to repaint and customize a pre-finished figure than a model kit, depending upon the extent of that customization. (Yes, I also build models.) Disassembling a D-Arts Rockman figure without breaking it (for customization) was definitely more difficult than any of the model kits I have built.

    5. Oh, it's that guy. I thought it was a model kit snob, which is a different category of 'wat'.

    6. @RS Proto Man
It isn't necessarily the same anon. The 11:37 AM anon is just assuming that because OP wrote "I Don't care" without thinking there is probably no relation whatsoever because he can't handle the thought of there being more than 1 criticizing anon. Kind of sad, really.

    7. @11:49 Yeah it didn't seem like it was the same guy, tbh.

    8. Sure, theoretically it could be someone else, but syntax (and perseverating on the same topics) can also give people away.

    9. Coming here to call people who like action figures "lazy," saying they "lack ability," and saying you "don't care" isn't contributing anything. It's just mean and negative.

  10. BBTS listed these for pre-order today, and the list price is the same as direct from ThreeZero: US$44.99.

My ThreeZero pre-order, after shipping was US$60.98

BBTS pre-order, after tax and their US$4 domestic shipping, is US$52.73.

This seems to be one of those rare occasions where ordering an import from BBTS is actually less than importing, even directly from the manufacturer! It will certainly ship earlier from ThreeZero, if that's worth the extra US$8 to anyone.

    1. I’d rather have the figure early rather than wait 5+ months for bbts to ship theirs after release.

  11. He looks GREAT! I think it looks better than even the old D-Arts figure tbh, and I'm excited to see they are making a Zero to go with him! (I hope they make a Vile and Axl too!)
