Mr. Mega Man Volume 1 Now Available to Pre-Order

In July, Udon Entertainment announced they would be localizing the Rockman-san and Rockman-chan manga into English, retitled as Mr. Mega Man and Little Mega Man. The first volume of Mr. Mega Man, spanning 194 pages, is now available to pre-order on Amazon for $13.99, with a release date of December 10th. We also have a first look at the cover art (via Previews World) and the following solicitation:

"When Mega Man grows up, he must face his greatest challenge of all... life as an adult!
The days of battle against Dr. Wily are long since gone. The world no longer needs Mega Man, and a grown-up Rock now leads a peaceful life working as a dentist. The Robots Masters have new careers as well... Cut Man is a barber, Flame Man is a chef, and Top Man is an online influencer. Yet as these dreamlike days pass by, a shadow of turmoil lurks on the horizon..."

Pre-orders for Little Mega Man haven’t surfaced yet, but I wouldn't be surprised if that's coming sooner than later.

Stay tuned for updates!

  3. I like that this has Top Man, with a very fitting job to boot (not just “dance instructor” or something else that’s just based on powers and not personality).

  5. I already know where to find it translated, so this announcement is still cool. Guess I'll reread it whenever I want to.

  6. Imma see if I can nab it. I LOVE the Mega Man franchise as it's inspired me to create my own series!

  7. Honest question: is this any good? It seems a little corny from the premise and art.

    1. It was kinda meh. Harmless but ultimately pointless.

    2. I would not personally recommend it. The plot brings up a plethora of interesting questions about Mega Man's world, but fails to answer them in any compelling or meaningful way. I also felt that the character writing was shallow and not engaging, which made the story's slower pace feel like watching paint dry. If you want something to read, I would highly recommend the Megamix/Gigamix series.

  8. Mega man is a robot, how is he aging and growing up into an adult? That makes no sense.

    1. Dr. Light built them new bodies, from what I've heard other people say. That's gotta be an expensive project.

    2. So, you know how your phone gets updates? I imagine it's similar to that.

  11. The art is nice, but this is one of the stupidest things they ever did with Mega Man. Those wacky Japanese, am I right?
