During today's SDCC panel, Udon Entertainment announced that they have acquired the English publishing rights to Rockman-san, Rockman-chan and Rockman X DiVE Official Complete Works. The three books have ben rechristened as Mr. Mega Man, Little Mega Man and, naturally, Mega Man X DiVE Official Complete Works. Little Mega Man will be out in December, and X DiVE in the second quarter of 2025. No word on Mr.'s release date.
But, wait! There's more. Udon also announced that they are collaborating with Capcom to produce a brand-new art book that will feature a wide array of official art and concept art that hasn't previously been collected in an "Official Complete Works." Content will include Mega Man Legends, Mega Man ZX, ZX Advent and more. Planned for 2025.
We'll have more details to share on all four projects soon. For now, you can check out the announcement slides below!
Udon's Bubblegum Crisis book looks real tempting.
ReplyDeleteI need to re-watch that. It's been 20+ years.
I have the blueray, it's dope
DeleteI didn’t even know about them doing a Bubblegum Crisis book until recently, definitely on my buy list.
DeleteI have been thinking of buying the BluRay. I have the old DVD's.
DeleteI’ll take it one step further, I have the old VHS tapes so I really need a upgrade.
DeleteNice I was really hoping for a transition for Rockman-san & chan
ReplyDeleteCool! Good time to get into those spinoffs. Also, X DiVE's greatest appeal to me is it's art and design, so the OCW catches my interest.
ReplyDeleteThe art in X Dive is so good, that is what catches my interest as well about it.
DeleteOoh, been hoping for an official English translation of Rockman-san, I read a fan translation and really enjoyed it.
ReplyDeleteRockman X DiVE Official Complete Works? Last time I checked, it's called: "Rockman X DiVE Illustration Collection", ロックマンX DiVE イラスト集
ReplyDeleteI guess it’s like the legacy collections, which all had different titles in Japan but were made more consistent internationally.
DeleteBut, it isn't the same type of book like the Complete Works. Those focus more in every aspect outside illustrations. Also, I'm referring to the Japanese version title "Rockman X DiVE Illustration Collection", it isn't called "Rockman X DiVE Official Complete Works" like the article states. The English version choosing "Mega Man X DiVE Official Complete Works" is fine for an adaptation even if it's technically incorrect.
DeleteOOOOOOH, YES! OUR HOPES COME TRUUUEEEE!! 🤩🙏✨
ReplyDeleteMr. Mega Man looks pretty interesting
ReplyDeleteI just purchased the Japanese version of X Dive art book last week becausethe opportunity arised, that's crazy, oh well, I guess it'll take a while for the english one to release
ReplyDeleteYou made the right choice, Udon probably isn’t releasing the book until sometime in 2025.
DeleteDefinitely interested in buying these, though I'm still tempted to import the Japanese version of the X Dive book instead of waiting.
ReplyDeleteI prefer to wait, since the US-released Complete Works also have a ton of little notes/artist commentary that go along with the artwork that I like to read. I feel like you're missing out on some of the book's content unless you can read Japanese.
DeleteThat's true but I'm also just more interested in the art itself.
DeleteIs there any guarantees that Udon will actually release these? Because I remember several other Mega Man projects they announced years ago that they never released.
ReplyDeleteI'm kind of surprised so many people forgot about those. I sure didn't because I really wanted that Mega Missions manga they announced and never released, so I'm very skeptical about anything Udon announces. Mastermix getting cancelled really kind of sucked as well.
DeletePass, I'll get the Japanese version of the X Dive book without having to wait a year.
ReplyDeleteSame here.
