The long-awaited Kotobukiya Axl is now available to pre-order from Big Bad Toystore and HobbyLink Japan! This is Axl's very first plastic model kit and his first genuine "figure" in over 20 years.
The kit comes packed with two Axl Bullets, wing parts, interchangeable hand parts, and four distinct face parts, providing everything you need to pose and recreate the scrappy fella's signature moves. And yes; he scales perfectly with X and Zero, making him a seamless addition to Kotobukiya's on-going X series line.
Axl is expected to ship in November in Japan and will arrive in the U.S. just in time for the holiday season in December.

ReplyDeleteSounds like they got this one right. Though I would like to see what he looks like with no paint. We don't get that until we see the side of the box.

DeleteKotobukiya almost never shows the pure plastic model. They show the prototype in grey 3D print then the final painted piece. Usually it's a mystery what needs to be painted up until the review pops up.
Calling it now like I did back with Black Zero. White Axel variant in the works. They should include one of his other guns he gets from a boss but honestly it's whatever.

DeleteHmmm.... If Axl is fully compatible with X's hands used to hold Zero's Z Saber, with pegs and color matching, it would not be hard to 3D print alternate weapons for Axl. You could do his pistol guns using the hands shown above, but might not be the best choice for a Gatling gun. That might be a fun project to do when the time comes.

It would be awesome if we also get Bit, Byte, Vile (X1 and 3 versions), the X hunters. I'd love to have more side characters to go with the X and Zero kits.

DeleteI don't see the line ending anytime soon, as they're even expanding it to BN and mega man 11. so long as they don't try mega man Zero again, I think it'll keep going.
DeleteThere were a lot of Super Robot Wars models that never got made. I assume because they lost the license or maybe they just lost interest and weren't selling. You never know.
