Late last year, at the very last minute, Kotobukiya unexpectedly postponed their Rockman 35th/Rockman X 30th anniversary live stream event. Today, they have now finalized a new date for the program: January 31st at 4AM CST.
The show is anticipated to run for roughly 90 minutes. Viewers can look forward to new Rockman model kit reveals, as well as updates on kits that were previously announced. We can expect to see the final paint work for Axl, reveals for Black Zero, Third Armor X Thunder Triad version, among other goodies. Additionally, a segment of the stream will be dedicated to Kotobukiya's Arcanadea series, which is unrelated to Rockman.
We'll be following the stream closely for those who may be unable to watch it live. There's sure to be a handful of updates -- stay tuned!

ReplyDeletehuh? this one of those copium jokes or have they actually ever announced stuff aside from figures through these? (asking because im coping hard right now)
DeleteI don’t know what a copium is, but I know sometimes companies like to toss a curveball here and there. I feel like there’s a bigger reason we’re unaware of they pushed it back, and maybe there’s another model kit in the works in regards to said reason. Of course, I’m also very open minded that it could be just a regular old case of setbacks.
DeleteIt would be nice if they announced a new game in the works.
ReplyDeleteThey are not. Get over it.
DeleteKotobukiya makes models and figures, not games.
DeleteThere’s no reason to respond like that. They have their hopes up, and there’s nothing wrong with that. They don’t have to “get over” anything. Let’s be respectful, alright?
Delete^ Why would you want to get your hope up for a new game on a stream that promotes new models/figures?
DeleteIf they want to lose customers, they can keep not making games. Hurts them too ultimately, not just us.
DeleteRespect, huh? Ok. I hope, just once, to not be disappointing by Capcom. Like I implied. It's pointless. It's like a universal constant. Like people who park next to you in an empty parking lot.
DeleteI thought I was logged in. Oh well. By disappointment I refer to everything Capcom. Not announcements. Delivery. Execution. PR. Localization. All of it.
DeleteOut of curiosity, what has disappointed you? Lack of games? Undesired content? I understand we all want a new game. Protodude has eluded that there’s one in the works, and it’s big. I know that we’re past the original announcement timeframe and that we want to see this thing happen.
DeleteRemember the Mega Man Legacy Collection? The Stone Man weapon art piece that slid in there? It didn’t belong, it was concept art, folks thought it was a scrapped idea, art style was peculiar from the others, all kinds of things stuck out! But it was a teaser for a game we had no clue was even being developed!
We know that if (and when) a new game arises, the need to market the big budget game will, too. What if this little show has a teaser of some kind? Model kit silhouette in the background, body frame we don’t recognize, you know what I mean?
It might be a stretch, but things do happen. We don’t know what that show is going to unveil until it’s over. Look, I’m not getting my own hopes just sky high, but I don’t think there’s a single thing wrong with being excited for the what-may-be. We’ll see what happens.
People have honestly waited for a game long enough especially since 11 was just awful base concept work mixed with battle network and Capcom has abandoned MegaMan fans for pretty much 2 decades and I wouldn't call his face being included in Tepen and other games he's garbage in as a move to please the fan base. Merch is fine but there is a line and it's honestly quite an easy one to spot even from space. In my opinion Keji inafune scammed everyone for Mighty No.9 Capcom was even wishing him luck openly on forums as he made a free game that MATCHED their IP and got profits but also got insight on a direction for capcom or at the very least good data. Fans have been used OPENLY and harshly and any fan that wants to deny it and and keep buying and consuming with blind loyalty is directly responsable why I left MegaMan behind and they are the reason I lost hope NO company changes their methods when they have mindless drones feeding them infinite none stop sustenance. If a company wants my business they need to show the RESPECT those who give them the oxygen their company breaths or I simply walk. I have to much SELF RESPECT to be USED and TAKEN ADVANTAGE of and if that's not your take on capcoms actions well .. it just proves you never left school you please anyone and shame yourself for a cheap price and hand out sacrificing anything just to fit in. That or you lack the basic concept of what's called MUTUAL RESPECT and if a company doesn't respect that and many don't now thanks to the glutinous numbers flooding gaming these days especially when those under educated numbers know nothing on individuality and are desperate to fit in anyway they can and that's only done by parakeeting and sining praises never seeing the negative because they are afraid to have EXPECTATIONS outside of the group much like content creators they never get popular and stay popular if their opinion has expectations that weren't met or they aren't infinitely positive with 0 expectations. Id rather be a human stump the rest of my life than be someone that pays to get walked on openly. By the way this isn't to anyone directly.
DeleteIts way more probable that it was Japan doing Japan things. Do you know that Kotobukiya has a lot going on?
DeleteEven if all of that specilation were the cause, current day Capcom will just screw it up. Hell, 80's, 90's and 2000's Capcom would screw it up. Like they have done so many times already on so many of their IP. I'd give you a list of how but I would "hope" you could figure it out on your own.
Nothing more to say on that. For now.
Actually, that was a concept art of the Block dropper. Right before Mega Man 11 was born.
DeleteFor me, I just like Mega Man. As a franchise, a good portion of the games (I’ll admit there were some even I didn’t like, and I certainly feel more could have been done effort-wise.) music, character design, new concepts and ideas, alternate takes, just about everything. Now I understand the disappointments. I’ve been a loyal fan since Mega Man 2 and I haven’t strayed since those days. Heck, I used dream of getting those model kits out the game magazines as a young pre-teen!!
DeleteBut now? That fanboy in me still remains alive and well, and it ain’t going anywhere. I hate that Legends 3 was cancelled, Universe was scrapped, ZX3 isn’t a thing, among so many other things. But that doesn’t mean I hang it up. I liked 11 just fine. Voices were great, gameplay was pretty enjoyable, loved the power ups and the little wacky mannerisms of the robot masters. I don’t remember a whole lot about the music, and I’m VERY disappointed there was no dlc and certain other characters I really favor. But look how it sold!
That alone tells Capcom that “Hey. We’re still here. Let’s get this going again!”
Oh, and no. I have literally no idea at all what Koto’s doing. It’s just something I think would be awesome. I don’t put a whole lot of stock in it. Just a nice passing thought. Ya never know.
To the anon who posted with timestamp of January 21, 2024 at 1:41 AM...
DeleteThis is exactly why there's growing sentiment within the MM community that a chunk of it is unsatisfiable, or irrationally toxic. You never seem to have even thought that maybe the brand simply fell out of popularity and Capcom focused on other things because they actually wanted to keep existing as a company.
I have memories of the times Capcom has tried to keep the brand going even in the darkest periods, only for fans like you to come out and stomp their efforts into the dirt because you decided acting like whiny brats was better than actually being supportive. As far as I can tell, the reason why Mega Man 11 got made was sheer luck, because your type were absolutely dead set on decimating Capcom's efforts with the previous Legacy Collection. Yet, 11's existence taught you nothing because you then decided to view 11 itself as low-effort garbage. From Rockman Xover to Rockman X DiVE, there has been a persistent undercurrent of negativity which I'm damn sure has absolutely sabotaged the brand through relentlessly attacking individual evidence, and attitudes like yours are part and parcel with it.
Maybe if you and others drop their victim complexes, Megaman might actually come back.
Why can’t we just be happy that the blue bomber is still getting acknowledged with the steady flow of merchandise and
Deletelegacy collections? Why can’t we be happy just be happy the the little guy isn’t completely forgotten? Remember Gex or
Bubsy, Vectorman, or Goemon? All of those series got left in the dust, but Rock? That boy’s still hanging on. I have a theory. I
think that the reason that Mega man has been basically on the brink of death. Is because we think we don’t care. Now of
course I know that a good lot of us really care about this series, but I’m talking about the good majority of people that see
any thing mega man and then just start trashing in to no ends. Like that “jolly old chap” that posted on January 21, 2024 at
1:41 am. It’s this type of toxic behavior that’s getting the franchise killed. It’s not capcom’s fault. It’s all of you gremlins who
can’t look at anything blue without having an aneurysm. I honestly feel like everyone turned into the AVGN. The recent ace
attorney collection showed us that capcom listens to their fans. Maybe if we could all be drop this toxic behavior, and
support the blue bomber, and show capcom that Mega man isn’t a lost cause. Perhaps we could revive the series. And if I
have to do it myself? Then you better bet your ass I would.
Anon 3:35PM
DeleteRight on the money with your sentiments. Capcom has actually been doing pretty well in all the things that actually matter (revenue), so despite the lamentations of the "fans" here, this notion that they're on a downward spiral couldn't be further from the truth. It's just they let their hatred for the lack of new MM games cloud how they view the company.
I actually know who Anon 1:41AM is and let me tell you, he's been screaming about "Crapcom" for a while now both here and on social media. He constantly claims he's "done" with MM but still trolls this site and others to talk about how he's the only fan with self-respect by not buying any of the Legacy Collections. What makes me happy is folks like him are clearly a very small minority as despite their incessant whining about the games being "cash grabs", they utterly failed to make a dent in their sales. It's best to just ignore his wall of text with no punctuation.
My sentiments to a fucking tee
DeleteGood video by Reploid Revo on lack of games: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LGgVYJRyRGw
DeleteI’m hoping with black Zero that they finally fixed the original Zero kits ankle issues, the joint connection for his foot was very poorly designed compared to the X kits making posing him a major pain without the feet falling off.
ReplyDeleteWell, if they don't you can always 3D print a replacement set.
Deletehttps://www.thingiverse.com/thing:6344823
Thanks Shrap, I might end up doing that for my red Zero.
DeleteZero was a pain in the ass to build, but I enjoy having him
DeleteBe very very very careful taking it apart... its very risky and may result in damage. Its better to do it up front.
DeleteMine was a tight fit, so I never disassembled Zero and only installed it on Nightmare.
I mean it. Zero's feet are not meant to be disassembled. I took a look at it. My Zero has stable ankles but do pop off, and I dont see an easy way to do it. I tried once and stopped immediately.
DeleteThat does give me an idea, though 😈 for an alternative solution.
will you ever re-release the mega armor parts?
Deleteyeah, i second anon. i remember those mega armor parts. would love to get them printed up.
Deleteare those the one's i saw on playstation trophies? i remember them looking official, then there were previous non 3d customs. wish bandai made the x1 and x2 armor's.
DeleteAnything I decide to make public will be on Thingiverse.
DeleteOriginally I made those parts to be compatible with the Mega Armor line, working with the original skeletons. After a while I shit-canned that and just made my own system. So while they are comparable in size and shape, they aren't Mega Armor anymore. At least not entirely. What's more, the 3D program I am using is not the best (but it's free) so when you get close you can see a lot of blockiness and manipulation to make it resemble a shape. The quality ain't the greatest.
ah i understand that. your work is fantastic regardless. if you ever consider making mega armor frame compatible parts, i'd happily pay whatever is fair. i remember being blown away by those. i tried to make full armor out of apoxie sculpt, it looks good and all but ocd kicks in and i know somewhere down the line there's an uneven area.
Delete3D prints come with a new set of issues. I outsourced them and the plastic I used has a kinda rough, bubbly surface, since I did not go for the polished plastic along with some print lines. If one DOES get a polished plastic, it does not polish evenly on all axis so round parts end up ovals. Conservatively speaking, the versatile plastic I used cost $50-$80 per complete print, not counting revisions, tolerance issues, mistakes or paint. I don't plan to sell them, but that's the ballpark barrier for entry. I have not successfully printed with my FDM printer without breakage or tolerance issues yet (admittedly I need to tweak my settings more).
DeleteAll of my models are based on a template. I have spent the last two weeks re-designing the template to fix everything that bugged me about it. Once that is done (I am down to redesigning the helmet), I plan to make that public so that people can make their own customs.
Question for anyone whose here: Does anyone else have a weird problem with their Charge Shot X? For me he feels very stiff compared to the other kits and it really hinders him for me.
ReplyDeleteYeah, since that kit used a coating of that "sheen" material, the pieces were a bit thicker than usual, but they kept the same dimensions for all the holes/slots/etc. So some of the pieces really fit a bit too snug.
DeleteHoping for Axl, Shadow Armor and Gaia Armor to round out the collection. Vile, Vile MK-II and Vile V are also hopefulls. Maybe we will get a suprise and get some of the supporting characters or a Maverick for once?
ReplyDeleteI’m just thankful Kotobukiya is still making Mega Man kits because scalpers are ruining collecting for the older Bandai Mega Armors.
ReplyDeleteHere's a mild curiosity you might find interesting. Everyone can see that the W in Dr. Wily turned 90º looks almost exactly like a Greek Sigma Σ, right? Well, the ancient Phoenician letter Shin(it's pronunciation is similar to an s) 𐤔(that's not a double-u, try inputting that into a search engine) gave rise to the Greek Sigma. Wonder if the makers knew that or they just turned a W 90º, hahah.
ReplyDeletetbh, I would be excited if they announced Robot Masters, Mavericks, or any other villains rather than another X armor
ReplyDeleteSame here, I think we have enough Mega Man variants after they finish the X armors. Would love to see some of the Robot Masters, Mavericks and side characters.
DeleteThe franchise is stuck in a period of madness. Trigger is stuck in the moon. X is an elevator coming from the moon. The moon is associated with madness through symbolism and language. Look up the etymology of lunatic.
ReplyDeletePeople keep saying "Trigger is stuck on the moon".
DeleteDid no one understand the ending? It was a joke. A gag. A laugh. They even shown his "rescue operation". It's not a cliffhanger.
I would agree with that, but there are some things that don't match with that. Quoting Inafune: "So please look forward to Mega Man Legends 3, and also think about what might've happened at the end of Mega Man Legends 2. We'll be sure to fill in all of the gaps for you." and there's Roll working on a rocket on an island in the prototype demo, Roll: "Um, it's nothing... Well, actually... my wrench broke, and without it, I can't continue working on my rocket...".
DeleteThe former is the official translation and although it could be a case of corrupt translators changing what he said, I heavily doubt it. The latter could be Roll working on a rocket for a different reason however I also doubt that. Thing is, it could've very possibly been a joke back then, but they certainly changed their minds when they decided in making that now cancelled version of 3.
For some reason, I can't seem to find the screenshot of Trigger with his new model. I remember it being unique for being the only image of him. Could be misremembering though.
That doesn't mean it's a cliffhanger ending. Granted it's been a really long time since I last played it, but outside of wanting to know if Roll reunites with her parents, I don't recall any lose threads I HAD to have resolution for. There may have been "questions" but I don't even remember what they were and even at the time didn't need answers that badly.
DeleteAs such, I really don't care if Legends 3 ever gets made. It doesn't feel required. And I am glad we were spared Barret the game. Wasn't interested in that character at all.
When last we saw, his getting off the moon was inevitable and implied. In fact, it never even need be brought up in a sequel.
You are... right! Cliff-hanger means "suspenseful situation" of which suspenseful means "causing a feeling of excitement or nervousness because you are waiting for something to happen or are uncertain about what is going to happen". We(the players) know what's going to happen and it's implied 3 times that they'll come back to Earth:
Delete1. Sera: I'll think about it, once we figure out a way to return to Terra.
Proceeded by Yuna laughing and saying that that's a good point, heavily implying returning it's not a big deal.
2. Trigger: I know Roll. She'll come looking for us, no matter what happens.
3. Barrell Caskett: Hmm, going to the stars. A task not easily undertaken, there's bound to be difficulties.
Werner von Muller: Yes, but it looks like they're on the right track to me.
Muller is presented as an intelligent, wise and successful character. I doubt he'd be wrong about this.
So, yeah, there's nothing to be excited or nervous about. The one thing that does not sit well with me is what was shown in the prologue of 3. Realistically, the way it was presented with the picture of the credits of 2, it should be set a few hours or a couple of days after the ending. However, Tron is back to digging for deflectors when she should still be working on the rocket(unless she's collecting funds).
So 2AM PST. Looks like I’m getting zero sleep tonight!
ReplyDeleteCouple of really good news.
ReplyDeleteBass.EXE is a definite must buy.
Sigma X1 definitely will make a lot of people happy. I wonder if I should get it and sell my FiguartsZero Sigma.
I could not care less about the multiple announced variants, but Black Zero is looking amazing.
Looks like Kotobukiya's been mighty busy.
