Capcom has announced that service for Rockman X DiVE will end on September 27 2023 at 13:00 JST. The shutdown is anticipated to affect all game versions, including Steam. There is currently no word on the semi-independently operated Global version by NebulaJoy. UPDATE: Global version will remain online "indefinitely"
Via the game's official website, here's a rundown of a series of events to enjoy before shutdown:
- Daily logins will earn you Elemental Metal Supply Box and Dark Code Coin.
- Favorite Capsule introduced. One free draw per day and you are guaranteed to get an S-rank character.
- Armaments Factory event will be held regularly. Redeemable weapons will no longer rotate and popular items such as limited weapons will be added. "Armaments Factory" Mission will be renewed every two weeks.
- Dark Code Store event will be held regularly.
- The Dark Code Coins that come with the Dark Code capsule will be increased significantly.
The development team also confirmed that, starting today, the ability to directly purchase products such as Elemental Metals will be removed. A reimbursement period for unused Elemental Metals will be announced at a later date.
Despite the lack of new content, Rockman X DiVE has maintained an active playerbase, with over 8 million downloads since its 2020 launch. The signs of the game's impending end have been evident for a while, and now that it's confirmed, some fans will undoubtedly feel disappointed. Nevertheless, make the most of these remaining months while you can.
Love to see the Mega Man franchise at it's peak... Can't wait for Taisen to be confirmed to have been silently cancelled...
ReplyDeleteThey should have focused on releasing actual Mega Man characters instead of Dive Armors and Iris/Rico/Ico alts if they wanted the game to last longer. I lost interest in this game last year after seeing every other month get a new Ico.
ReplyDeletethey should've focused on actual series characters Iris was okay, but RiCo Ico and Via along with the other 3 OC really let down the players it was evident already with the dmc collab just being and X and zero skin with dante/vergil
DeleteThat's what killed the game. They were doing so much better before the OC spam...
DeleteThat means they're make more mega man games.
Delete@Zelda.EXE no it doesn't. In an ideal word, maybe. But not in the real world.
DeleteThey should have focused on releasing actual Mega Man games, lol.
DeleteEh, I never played it, but I hope it played an important part in reviving the franchise. It always looked infinity better than Rockman Xover at least, but if it's gatcha, I get out and don't look back. Ironically, I think we'd have fewer gatcha games if more developers embraced the fundamentals established by Mega Man.
ReplyDeleteWell, that sucks. :(
ReplyDeletelol.
ReplyDeleteLook, I'm not even against gacha. But this game, besides the art and models, was just not it.
If they wanted a better gacha game, they could've used BN which is dang near fashioned for gacha and then just made a full X9 game or something later on instead of slapping random stuff together for XDive, but...oh well.
I'll never understand blue colored not-zero.
I played it for only a short time, but it was boring. The characters were nicely animated and designed. Lots of silly costumes for characters that I didn’t care for. The gatcha aspect was the largest part of disinterest for me. I’d rather Capcom put their efforts into mainline MegaMan games for any of the series’s. I want to see fun story progression and to take us to new places in this universe instead of multiverse junk.
ReplyDeleteWell said!

ReplyDeleteFigured it would be worth dropping this off here.
About time. Maybe we can finally move on to something else now.
ReplyDeleteNever play it, but that's too bad hearing it
ReplyDeleteYou didn't miss anything, it was a hentai gacha game like all others
DeleteFinally... X DiVE looked OK when I saw the development screenshots, but at the end of the day it was just gacha garbage. And the art style of the new characters and special skins was pure cringe. I'd rather see them make a 2.5D single-player game instead. (ZX3 please?)
ReplyDeleteThe art style was good
DeleteCan't say I'm surprised. They haven't added any new characters since S-Class Hunter Zero. Are you happy now X Dive haters? I hope Capcom announces something Mega Man related soon, it's bad enough Kazuhiro Tsuchiya left.
ReplyDeleteYup I am most certainly happy. Throw this waifu garbage in the trash bin.
DeleteThis cancer isn't megaman, it deserves to die
DeleteI'm more indifferent than anything, tbh. This was not a game I was interested in.

ReplyDeleteI’m gonna just leave this here.
Are you telling me that I will never see Zero with a machine gun or Roll in a white religious wedding dress again ? SO sad...
ReplyDeleteYou can. Just as in offline version that can be bought on Steam
DeleteI see that a very good move for a Gacha game
Simple: Online sucks! I am glad I didnt played this game at all. No online for me.
ReplyDeleteBasically Xover 2.0
ReplyDeleteWhy can't they just convert X DIVE to offline single-player game and resell it?
Hopefully, some people record their full gameplay for both J and E languages while others preserve at least the 3d models and weapons.
Look how scarce the gameplay videos of Xover are on YouTube . I'm talking from a preservation point of view.
well, guess what just happened
DeleteWin some and lose some.
DeleteThank god this shit game is finally dead
ReplyDeleteFinally. This game is so worthless and endless. THUMB DOWN!
DeleteFeels like I'm the only one that enjoyed it from all the hate here. Hopefully they do something like this in a new MegaMan game, a big All Star MegaMan game. Loved the X Dive armors, new characters, while ehh some were a miss but I do like the main 3 new ones.
ReplyDeleteWanted to see who else would get a Dive Armor.
Nah, you weren't the only one. Most longtime fans who grew up with consoles didn't care for it and the usual suspects here trash it because honestly they're mostly cynical about everything, but the game obviously did well.
DeleteNo mobile or freemium game lasts forever, and Dive won't be any exception. Also, people who trashed it because they think it somehow prevented MM games from being made don't know what they're talking about, since it was developed and maintained by a team that wouldn't even really be chartering a full-fledged MM title to begin with.
I didn't care for the game personally, played it for a bit on Steam and thought while the animations and stages were cool, it got pretty redundant and I couldn't get into the ridiculous characters and gacha elements. But I also respect it for what it is, a game catered to today's generation of casual/mobile gamers but also with little nods to the franchise that only longtime MM fans would get. It likely made Capcom a nice return, and if there's any proof that this helps lead to a new true MM game I'll hold it in much higher regard.
nahh, you're not the only one. Seen other peeps in reddit, twitter threads, youtube comments that seem to be enjoying it. So you're not alone. But man, besides the character inclusions, I dunno how man lol. Did not find the gameplay to be that enjoyable for me.
DeleteNo, this should never be made again, Capcom sucks, and its adding microtransactions to 60 dollar games now. Megaman deserves to be on a better company.
DeleteIf that giveaway a while back is anything to go by, a lot of people who like it either lurk or don't come here on a regular basis.
DeleteX9 seems to get announced sooner than later.
ReplyDeleteThe comments here are certainly... interesting. It's not like this game took away the resources that would be used on a new Mega Man game. I'm definitely happy that thanks to thise game we got some new art,few remixes and many, many 3D models of characters that would probably never get one otherwise.
ReplyDeleteRight. Cause all them Capcom employees could do ANYTHING else...
DeleteAnonymous June 7, 2023 at 4:41 PM
DeleteAnd that one was me. Anonymous was unintentional.
It's interesting that since Rockman X Dive and Mega Man X Dive are considered separate titles, the global version is being kept around. Of course, the question now is for how long? Having indefinitely in quotes casts some doubt over the intended meaning. I quit global quite some time ago because the daily flow got too repetitive and obnoxious with introducing new weapons when I wanted to stick with what I liked (poor Bio Buster), not to mention how silly all of the events had gotten (seasonal or not, our favorite Reploids were getting humiliated by adhering to stupid anime tropes). The dialog was also fairly poorly translated and localized, so the text read like garbage.
ReplyDeleteThey really should convert the data and assets into an offline title (I'm still bitter they never did that with Marvel Heroes Omega). That way people can still enjoy the game and the gacha elements can simply hang off to the side if people want to spend the in-game currency to pull for something. When Kemco published most of their mobile RPGs to handhelds and consoles, the gacha elements for pulling weapons and gear remained, but they're tied to in-game currency only, which avoids the trap of making the player pay real world money for upgrades. This game could avoid the same pitfall if they just published an offline version in the same manner.
They are clever... you purchased the cards in the game if you want. And now it is shut down. They simple just get your money and run. No excuse. No more online!
ReplyDeleteDing dong the witch is dead!
ReplyDeleteI played the song on my computer when I read the headline, not gonna lie.
DeleteReally to all of the people who think this closure coming so close after Tsuchiya's departure is a sign that Capcom is going to shelve the franchise again, consider the following:
ReplyDeleteTsuchiya could had stayed Capcom rn and had announced Taisen, Mega Man 12/X9/Legends 3 and what not and this would have still announced the EoS soonly
In the grander scheme of things this game was never a big deal but entirely disposable, won't be looked back so fondly as any of the games it paid so much lip service to
That's very true. I'm sad to see that guy go despite what he's done for north of a decade. What's also sad is that Capcom seem to only value this franchise when it's making bank off merch like many companies are nowadays. At the least, I have the Battle Network games as well as whatever hacks the community makes to keep me going as we can't count on Capcom to keep re-releasing the same games over and over again. I'm personally satisfied in that regard.
DeleteWhalp... I guess that was inevitable. I only ever liked this game in brief spurts of enthusiasm for it's potential before it ultimately grinded itself to death, as mobile games do. But I still saw it's potential? I still wanted to see it's story through to the end? It just wouldn't let me because of the grind. If these new "game is dying, have free shit I guess??" events are worthwhile enough to push over that cap and finally see the things I was missing, then that'd be great, I guess? But I kind of doubt that there is realistically enough time even if I started downloading it again right now.
ReplyDeleteThe real shame is that for all it's faults, this is the end of it now. Okay, sure, the remake that's two years behind is still gonna run for... lets assume 2-3 more years to catch up to it's predecessor before going down this same road and off the cliff into oblivion, but... that's not exactly reassuring. For everyone else after this, this game will be a myth. A lost relic. A legend buried in infamy that no one will ever be able to play again past it's closing date because companies refuse to build for end-of-life for these games.
I do not like this game. But I am devastated to see it go.
if I can transfer my account data to global version, I will continue playing and support the game.
ReplyDeleteI think that global version will be next to shut down soon because it is "indefinitely". Obviously.
DeleteThe writing was in the wall for a long time. Even though it was gacha, pull rates were terrible and they literally thought a single character was worth $200 worth of EMs to "guarantee" the pull. I loved it for the first few months but it quickly went downhill and just continued in that direction.
ReplyDeleteI can't bring myself to feel bad about it. Aside from the music, unusual Captain N premise and gorgeous artwork, it controlled poorly wasn't very fun. And fast-paced, precision platformers should NEVER be made for a phone.
ReplyDeleteHuh. Well, on the bright side, no more X DiVE posts about random S-Rank characters (oh, weren't they all…) every week. Although… I have this odd feeling that somewhere, someone down the road will pull a Castlevania: Grimoire of Souls and revive this game, but limit all the needless gachapon stuff.
ReplyDelete… oh, wait. The storyline for this game was finished a few months ago, wasn't it? Right, never mind then.
Really, though? It was a fun game. If they made a revised version for Apple Arcade where you don't have to either spend a truckload of money or weeks at a time to progress the plot, that'd be pretty great.
The game is already available in the Apple Store as the Global version.
DeleteI enjoy the game, even if nothing else, the art is pretty awesome. It's a shame we'll never see Spider, Lumine, Epsilon, and many many others in this. And the X8 armors, I was looking forward to seeing some cool art of those finally. The renders and concept art don't really do it for me. But seriously, Spider...where is he? The other Command Mission characters were there Day 1, and we never got Spider...My in-game username was Spider RSF, hoping someday I'd get to play as him in the game. Oh well.
ReplyDeleteOn one hand, I dislike this game, greatly. Being a gacha made with not much effort, focusing more on fanservice than on gameplay and having people go "hahaha this is a bad gacha BUT STILL BETTER THAN X6 AND X7 XDDD!!!!!" and other nonsense.
ReplyDeleteHowever... I do know that some have enjoyed it, and I personally loved to see new artworks and especially 3D models of characters that never had them, down to even silly stuff like Christmas Bit/Vajurila FF, and given the sad state the series is in right now, being more mediocre collections than actual new games and barely any innovations, this is just another bit of unfortunate news.
YES YES YES YES YES YES!!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeletelol all the salt regarding this game....I could probably collect it all and sell it to make another Mega man title myself.
ReplyDeleteAll in all, the game is fine imo. Gatchas are gatchas, if it wasn't your cup of tea, enjoy all the other Mega Man titles out there. Never understood the hate for trying something new. Same backlash we got back when Battle Network first came out and now everyone loves it. Oh well~
In any case, always sad to see a Mega Man title go. This and the producer leaving isn't exactly giving me hopes for the future of Mega Man, but as always, we'll see. I can hope for the best, but not gonna lie, I'm probably going to be trying to play a bit more of the current standing titles out now, including this one, because it looks like another drought is coming before we see another Mega Man game (or collection lol)
Gachas are abusive to the consumers, you shouldn't even support them in the first place, it predates on the consumers.
DeleteRight. Like do you ever get embarrassed sometimes, as I do, to share a common interest in what are obviously very immature adults? I mean I'm no fan of Dive myself, but the amount of energy some people put into hating this silly mobile game just leaves me scratching my head.
DeleteThere have been numerous MM games, cartoons, merch, etc. over the franchise's history that I wasn't crazy about and personally felt detracted from the brand. Did I express hatred for them on the internet, or rejoice when they were canceled or didn't do well? Not really, I kind of just ignored them and moved on with my life.
I don't think people are necessarily hating it because it's just something new and I don't think every gacha game is equal. There are devs that go out of their way to make sure their gacha game has actual solid gameplay and content while being generous with gacha rates.
DeletePeople are definitely salty, but there are some legitimate reasons for some of the hate of this game. From jank bugs and unbalanced over-rated characters and a broken pvp, to uninspired stages and gated progression with a story that's almost non-existent, add that to the terrible gacha rates and dated recycled voices/soundeffects/music, it doesn't come off being too competent of a game in a lot of ways. Seeing all your favorite characters in one game might be cool, which it is, but that's not enough to make this game good. I would personally say it's a lot worse because I have a bunch of additional issues with this game, but that's me.
I see games like the FMA mobile game, BlueArchive, Arknights and those games have some good quality content and a lot of dev effort put into each aspect of the game that's easy to see. Kind of effort I wish showed itself in Dive, but it's not there.
If people like it, that's fine, but it should be easy to understand why people don't like it as well. We came out of long drought, got 11, Dive(EOS), and some more legacy collections (with lag depending on console), and now we're possibly going into another drought.... so...having XDive as a game doesn't exactly feel too great for people. Like being starved and then given a busted can of year old dog-food. It's food, but....
I'd say that claiming that it was hated for trying something different is misleading, given the whole Battle Network thing. It got more flack for going with an idea that already gets a decent amount of criticism in the gaming world (mobile gacha game) at a time where 11 actually gave Mega Man fans reason to hope again.
DeleteAnonymousJune 10, 2023 at 5:01 PM
DeleteGreat job ignoring em. You win the internet. Here, have a šŖ
XDD loving the comments.
Delete@anon1: um...OK. again if you don't like it, don't play it? There's like over 60 other megaman titles out there lol.
@annon2: yes. A lot recently as the comment section can clearly show you, lol. I remember the Sonic fans being the most rabid, now I just sorta tend to slide around from most of my own favorite fanbase because all of the salt. Oh well.
@DeepSigh: yeah see, normally I'd agree with you if there wasn't a bunch of comments just generally being salty over this game for no other real reason than just being salty.
Like, I get it, Dive isn't X9 or L3 or anything any of us really wanted in the form of a game. Makes perfect sense. And even as a mobile game, Dive isn't the best by a long shot. It's cool to want to ask for better games. Very fine and reasonable. But good grief the amount of salt somone can throw at something they are supposed to be a fan of can be insane sometimes.
I can only figure everything that happened around L3's cancelation just hit everyone really badly and it's just spilled onto anything else not a numbered title. Or something. In any case Dive is getting an offline version so maybe they can tweak/fix some of the issues it has and make it a halfway decent mobile game to enjoy. Still trying to stay hopeful I guess. I'm expecting another drought anyways, but who knows maybe this will kick off some more megaman games we can all enjoy.
@TAG: yeah but that's sorta why I said what I did. When BN first came out everyone and their brother bashed it because it was "trying to ride the PokƩmon train" to the point I saw people saying they were never going to touch it when it came out(seriously, i kid you not). Now look at the Legacy Collection lol. And this really feels like a rehash of that. Do i think Dive is the next BN? Lol no, of course not. Do I think a lot of people are being salty about it, yeaahhhhhh maybe a bit. And not to be blunt, but anyone who thought 11 was the start of the next Mega Man wave was on a lot of copium lol.
@sharp: nicee.
That's fair. As salty as I am, I do think it's healthy for there to be fans that are hopeful. Even if I'm like rolling my eyes at super optimistic comments and stuff. Might be aggravating to me, but yeah, the negativity can be pretty suffocating at times. Understandable but still suffocating.
DeleteBut you know, honestly tho, we're all wanting more cool megaman stuff in the end, some of us just got hella burned and there's not enough fresh content to keep the fandom as unified and positive as it used to be a decade back I feel.
Least I got some steam let out lol, so I guess I can chill a bit with the salt. Just a bit though.
@JoshLight Still better than those who mindlessly defends the objectively bad game to no end and claims every single hatred are unjustified.
DeletePeople like you are the reason why Capcom would never made a new mainline Megaman game again.
@Deep Sigh: lol eyyy, its all good. If you got to let off a bit of that bottled up salt, then its all good. We all want a numbered title that can be brought into the modern world and get megaman rolling like it used to. And I'll be the first to admit that I lost a lot of faith in Capcom and got totally burnt for everything that happened to the point that I just sorta wanted to give up on the series. And I do think it's totally fair to demand that Capcom do more and make better games. I just don't see the reason for hating on someone else just because they can like a game of a series you're a fan of, just because you don't like it. But, so it goes.
Delete@annon: lol wow. Cool story bro. Glad all of that is on me and I somehow helped to bring the downfall of Megaman and you couldn't do a thing to save it lololol. The logic of some people amaze me.
@JoshLight June 14, 2023 at 8:35 PM
Delete"All in all, the game is fine imo. Gatchas are gatchas, if it wasn't your cup of tea, enjoy all the other Mega Man titles out there. Never understood the hate for trying something new. Same backlash we got back when Battle Network first came out and now everyone loves it. Oh well~"
Gachas are scams slowpoke and not something new considering Xover was a thing. Not the same backlash for Exe. Who is this "everyone" that loved it? You mean its niche audience. Cool revisionism, bro.
"I remember the Sonic fans being the most rabid, now I just sorta tend to slide around from most of my own favorite fanbase because all of the salt. Oh well."
Sonic fans have plenty of reasons to hate Sega and with every move Capcom makes they are starting to resembling them closer everyday which is not a good look. However, Sega is slowly coming back to their senses.
"if there wasn't a bunch of comments just generally being salty over this game for no other real reason than just being salty."
Or you're just ignoring why people are angry which is exactly what you did.
" But good grief the amount of salt somone can throw at something they are supposed to be a fan of can be insane sometimes."
You can be a fan and be very critical. What you are saying is the equivalent of "Criticism le bad. Why? Because it just is, OK?".
"I can only figure everything that happened around L3's cancelation just hit everyone really badly and it's just spilled onto anything else not a numbered title."
There's so much more to it than that, Dash 3 is just the tip of the iceberg.
"Now look at the Legacy Collection lol."
You mean a collection with all 10 main games, with restored trading and pvp through online, that zoomers kept hearing stories about how unique it is and can finally play officially in their modern consoles sold well. Wow I would've never guessed.
"anyone who thought 11 was the start of the next Mega Man wave was on a lot of copium lol."
You cannot expect to comment something like this and not get called out for it especially right after writing these about X-Dive "but who knows maybe this will kick off some more megaman games we can all enjoy." So its copium for 11 for some reason but not for X-Dive. Disingenuous hypocrite.
"@annon: lol wow. Cool story bro. Glad all of that is on me and I somehow helped to bring the downfall of Megaman and you couldn't do a thing to save it lololol. The logic of some people amaze me."
If you played the game once or twice then there's no problem. Now if you kept on playing constantly or contributed any money to it then yeah you are part of the problem and by the way, how funny is it that you accused the other anon of having flawed logic when in fact the one with flawed logic is you. Why would Capcom Japan bother making a new game when they are getting money through Capcom Taiwan? It's incredible that nobody points out the obvious.
@Anonymous June 10, 2023 at 5:01 PM
"Right. Like do you ever get embarrassed sometimes, as I do, to share a common interest in what are obviously very immature adults?"
Cool cope to think yourself as a mature adult but alas with that comment you proved that you aren't.
777 well a I hope this means at least they might tey something new. Since I think tjis game ran its course. Here's the thing tho, it did have quality to it. The art was quality, the graphics were well representative and animated. Just take that production and scale it to a proper Mega Man game on a proper console without microtransactions and I think we win. 777
ReplyDeleteEveryone mentioning the salt must not want a new game and prefer apps? Apps are just used to milk the fan base especially gotcha games. Most probably just want a game that doesn’t just up and poof so you don’t lose everything including your time spent because where is the value in it now? That’s a 1 sided deal that isn’t on the consumers side so it’s more than understandable. It’s ok if you don’t see it that way but I find that logic lacking as it’s not to you or my benefit and games are becoming 1 sided enough in my opinion. But I just like to be respected by those I purchase from my self respect is a curse I suppose.
ReplyDeleteThe two don't have to be mutually exclusive right?
DeletePeople act like Dive was being spearheaded by anyone who would be working on a new MM game (Capcom doesn't even have a dedicated MM team by the sounds of things, folks jump from one project to another). Dive was apparently being ran by a small team out of Capcom Taiwan with likely limited oversight by Capcom Japan. It wasn't preventing any new games from coming out.
So yeah, even if you can't stand mobile gaming or gacha games in general, I see no reason to exert the energy hating this game like some people have. Was there some kind of huge backlash against Rockman Tennis when that was released? The storyline from Dive is even structured in a way to kind of being a hokey shout-out to the franchise's history and not anything canonical. So in the end, who cares? Dive will eventually be sunset like nearly all mobile games are and Capcom themselves will likely forget about it like they have with other one-off ventures (Xover, Fully Charged, etc.)
Glad to hear it. I was sick of just seeing nothing but merch news and DiVE updates.
ReplyDeleteLook like we will have a Rockman X Dive Offline version hahaha !
ReplyDeleteOh, so it's de-gatchafied? Comes with everything? Sounds good to me.
DeleteIt doesn't come with the crossover stuff.
DeleteNext they should get SENSEI back as the series character designer cuz this game's designs and artwork are generic moe waif trash.
ReplyDeleteYou can stop pretending. Imagine being jealous of drawings and not even that but digital drawings, a bunch of 1s and 0s, lol.
DeleteAs much as I hate X DiVE overall, the artworks are one of the only few saving glaces for this game.
DeleteThat piece of crap of game deserves to be shutdown! I've been fighting with this stupid company to fix it, but instead they didn't. Serves them right to cheat on a hardcore gamer.
ReplyDeleteThe sad thing is, Capcom had so many more ideas they could have included into the game, but they just don't give a shit.
DeleteMegaman deserves better. But X Dive was still a fun experience to me despite being trash.
I want to know the price I might be interested in picking it up if everything is easily unlocked.
ReplyDelete
