Our friend Digi148 has achieved another victory in the realm of preservation by successfully acquiring and scanning an obscure children's activity book based on Rockman 6.
Originally published in Japan in 1994, the 54-page book features unique and seldom-seen artwork. Interestingly, the illustrations and designs were not created in-house at Capcom, but outsourced based on Capcom's own control art. Each page of the book is designed to look like a stage from Rockman 6, and progression is determined by a digital slot machine that is integrated into the book (bottom right page). While the slot machine's functionality cannot be replicated through scans, the book's overall charm remains unaffected.
Those interested in checking it out can do so via the Internet Archive. A direct download is available too!
Mega Man children’s activity book?!
ReplyDeleteOmg that is sooo cute. ☺️
Woaw, this is the first time I hear (read) about that one.
ReplyDeleteThis somehow reminds me of that storybook with Plant Man and Roll. I wonder if there have been children's books for other Classic Mega Man titles?
ReplyDeleteThere was one of those build your own adventure books for Mega Man 2 in the 80's.
DeleteYo! This is so awesome! I would have played the heck out of something like this! What a neat idea!
ReplyDeleteNice, another super rare book find.
ReplyDeleteReminds me of the Super Mario Book children scans in the late 90's, didn't know about this, it looks amazing.
ReplyDeleteThank you.
ReplyDeleteIs there any figurine came with the book?
