Mega Man Battle Network Legacy Collection Sold Out in Japan, Capcom Promises Restock

Capcom has confirmed that the physical editions of Mega Man Battle Network Legacy Collection have completely sold out in Japan. The company credited the game's popularity for this outstanding achievement, as it dominated Japan's sales charts within the first three days of its release.

To satisfy the demand, Capcom reassured fans that they are currently preparing additional units, with plans to restock by late April. They encourage anyone who's interested to contact retailers about reservations.

Needless to say, this speaks volumes to the collection's success and how much love there is for this 22-year-old series. The proverbial "Battle Network sweep" continues!

  1. Im not surprised at all the game series is really good for a "card" based game which so much depth and variety on what you can do and the exploring is pretty fun more so when you start getting into the hidden areas of the game like the under net and other post game stuff. It has so much replayability on top of the funny yet really good story, hell i got started in the game series completely on whim because of a friend i had back in 8th grade letting me borrow the 3rd game and eventually giving it to me since he didnt want it anymore. From there i went on to buy bn 1 2 and everything else. The series got my love and much more and got me into another series which was boktai and that one my god the lore in that series

There is very little wrong with the series as a whole and i am glad everyone else can now get a feel for the Japan exclusive stuff that never came state side like ereader and chip stuff. Hell we finally got a full proper version of exe 6 which didnt cut the boktai stuff and so much of the post game content.

ugh i just love this game series so much and get why it sold well it so damn good. I hope this may lead to a potential revival of this type of megaman game and maybe just maybe a boktai collection from konami with boktai 3 getting a proper translation for the west.

  3. Is this the first time a Mega Man game has actually "sold out" of copies within the first month of launch?

    1. Technically I think the first Mega Man on NES sold out and Capcom had to print more to meet demand. But that was more because they completely underestimated how much it would sell right off the bat, compared to a situation like this.

  5. This is why I keep collecting Switch games, even at the cost of selling my other titles from the PS2, GCN, Wii, GBA, 360 and even N64 eras.

    1. uh why are you selling very old games for newer ones? You could find this hard copy online if you just wait a little bit

  6. The switch version has appears to have also sold out almost universally in the US as well. Amazon sellers are currently selling over msrp as the scalpers appear to have snatched up the copies. Don’t by the higher price just wait it out. Better save some cash.

  8. Really hope they print more physical copies in the US soon, I haven't been able to find one anywhere. I've heard that even some people that preordered haven't received their copies.

    1. I preordered a copy and it took me around a week after launch, when the estimated time was same day as release. I don't think Capcom was prepared for it's success. If I remember correctly, a similar thing happened with the classic legacy collection(s)?

  9. This has gotten stupid now. It's literally sold out everywhere even the worldwide editions for the Switch version. Even if Capcom does restock it will be 3-4 months. The other legacy collections didn't have this problem...
