Big blowout of news from the Kotobukiya front tonight...
Now that Kotobukiya's long-awaited MegaMan.EXE model kit is finally rolling out, we have our first real look at the box art. I mean, just look at that guy up there. The pose, shadows and colors - the smile! It's so good to see this fella again. This is a real winner.
If you pre-ordered the kit a while back, keep your eyes peeled to your mailbox. Yours should be arriving shortly. Any day between now and early October.
Speaking of October, Dark MegaMan.EXE is just around the corner. He's expected to drop sometime in October. Pre-orders are still available from most online retailers... like our affiliate HobbyLinkJapan!

We have to step off the Mega Man Battle Network Legacy Collection hype train for a bit for some not-so-good news. Capcom delivered a surprising, but unfortunate update about Mega Man Powered Up; an underrated gem that didn't exactly sell well in its day but did plenty right.

This year's Tokyo Game Show has come and gone, but we're not exactly through with Mega Man Battle Network Legacy Collection coverage. IGN Japan recently posted direct-feed footage of the TGS demo, which covers select portions of Battle Network 1~3.
There isn't too much going on here we haven't seen already - it's just nice to see (and hear) things directly. We do, however, get a much better look at the first three games' remastered title screens. The dev team even went so far as to reanimate the bits of scrolling code. Hey, it's the small things!
As previously reported, more Battle Network Legacy Collection updates are coming during a "future presentation". Whether that means another Capcom Digital Showcase or - you never know - a Mega Man-specific showcase, remains to be seen. We'll keep ya posted.
In the midst of a slew of Monster Hunter themed reruns and with a new event and new characters in the horizon Capcom are once again expanding the already vast selection of X armors in Rockman X DiVE.
Directly from Rockman X6, Shadow Armor X is set to join the game this Wednesday!

Straight from the Tokyo Game Show 2022 showroom floor, Tsuwahasu brings us some excellent footage of Mega Man Battle Network Legacy Collection in action.
We get a closer look at the 3D MegaMan.EXE (voiced by Akiko Kimura in the Japanese version) performing different actions, a peak at the brand-new hi-resolution title screens, and different option menus. Tsuwahasu also shows off the different optional wallpapers including some we haven't seen before. There's a new option to adjust in-game text size and toggle music/sound effects individually as well. This feature hasn't appeared in any previous Legacy Collection, let alone any Battle Network title.
Naturally, online functionality was not available so the "Communication" option from in-game menus is blanked out. As previously reported, every game in the collection will feature online NetBattles and trades nevertheless.
More updates soon!
Now that online NetBattles and trades have been confirmed (yay!), fans were quick to wonder if Mega Man Battle Network Legacy Collection will support cross-platform compatibility. Unfortunately, that appears to be a no-go.
It's not unusual for Mega Man and Street Fighter to cross streams. It's a tried and true tradition. But with Street Fighter 6, we'll be treated to something a little different....
Capcom provided a very small update on Mega Man battle Network Legacy Collection today during the Tokyo Game Show 2022 showcase. Masakazu Eguchi (aka Mr. Famous) made an appearance to confirm that the development team are hard at work implementing online features into "every series". This includes both online battles and the ability to trade Battle Chips. More details will be shared in a future presentation.
The second collaboration event with Monster Hunter Rise is coming to the global version of Mega Man X DiVE on September 21. Before then, the first Monster Hunter Rise event is getting a rerun.
Also, we have a special present for you in the meantime...
What's more? The control scheme for the Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 4 versions were revealed too.

First revealed during the Rockman Plastic Model Talk Live Ver.3 stream, Kotobukiya today published new images of the Rockman X Full Armor kit in color. What's more, they've provided a release date and price: January 2023 at 8580 yen.
We breakdown the specifics of this highly anticipated kit after the jump below!
If you thought the AI-enhanced version from a few years back was impressive, what till ya get a load of this.
Through the magic of Adobe Animate, MASJ faithfully reanimated Mega Man 8's opening cutscene in 4K HD. No machine learning, upscaling or interpolation here. The whole piece was redrawn by hand, frame by frame.
But wait, there's a little more! MASJ has the Japanese version in 4K too. It comes complete with Ganasia's delightful "Electrical Communication" theme.
Without access to the cutscene's original cels (by animation studio Xebec), this is probably the closest we'll ever get to a genuine remaster. One YouTube comment really sums it up: "It's like putting on glasses."
That said, well done, MASJ! I guess you'll be tackling X4 next, right? Please?
Mega Man X8 16-Bit Demake (by AlyssonDaPaz) - It's Mega Man X8, re-imaged as a SNES game! This project is being developed in Godot Engine 3.5. True to its 16-bit inspiration, the project aims to be a "vanilla" X1-X3 experience with X as the only playable character, no Metals, shops or retry chips.
Mega Man Zero Online (by Warrior555MainsGanon) - This online multiplayer brawl lets you square off against your friends as different characters from the Zero series. Current build includes Zero and Harpuia. In active development.
Mega Man Four Hounds (by DeMontropolis) - An original fan-game set in the classic series. Players can choose to play as Mega Man, Proto Man or Bass each with their own unique play-style. Four Hounds aims to up the ante from what you'd expect from a typical classic series entry.
Mega Man Shattered Diamonds (by Team_Circadia) - A NES-inspired romp featuring high-quality sprite animations! Play as Mega Man or Bass and take on three original Robot Masters. The soundtrack really, really bops too.
There's plenty more Mega Man (and non-Mega Man) games to check out! See them all at the SAGE 2022 digital gallery here!
