On more than one occasion, NebulaJoy stated they had no plans to release an official English version of Rockman X DiVE on Steam. However, Capcom Taiwan are taking it upon themselves to bring the game to PC owners in Canada, US and Mexico, the developer announced. One can only hope that Europe, Japan and other regions will follow suit.
If it wasn't apparent already, this will be the original Taiwan version run by Capcom Taiwan, not the Global Version by NebulaJoy. You can play with your existing Taiwan version account or start from scratch. Progress cannot be transferred from the NebulaJoy Global Version.
The game is expected to be available to download tomorrow, January 20th at 4:00 (UTC+8). Keep an eye on this page for updates.
This is kind of upsetting since I put so much effort already into the nebulajoy version.
ReplyDeleteMe too
DeleteI utterly despise playing games on mobile so I might give it a chance now. Not a fan of gaming on PC either but hey, next best thing while waiting for a proper console game, eh? Goddamnit.
ReplyDeleteSince this version will be available in Mexico too, i hope there will be spanish language too since global version does have it.
ReplyDeleteI hope there will be Portuguese Portugal language. Portuguese people deserved to have fun with it too!
ReplyDeleteI mean.. Not this one but you know what I mean. :)
ReplyDeleteTo do it or not to do it? Considering the hours I've put into the Taiwan version(And the fact that Swimsuit Roll is my most used alt of this game.)
ReplyDeleteThen do it, this IS for the Taiwan version dude.
DeleteMan, I now regret waiting years for a global version of this game. I just cracked 400,000 power so I'm not starting over but I am convinced to double-down on my intention to never spend. Now NO ONE gets my money!!
DeleteMeh. I have long since lost any interest in giving this game a proper shot. I'd rather just wait for 30XX.
ReplyDeleteI was literally waiting for this Steam release to happen, thinking that would mean actual controller support and no more constant crashing, like I was experiencing trying the game out through Bluestacks emulation. But... I mean... immediate access to way more content is great and all, but... Completely restarting my account? Losing all of the painfully drawn out RNG lootbox pulls and having to start everything over from scratch?? In a grind heavy mobile game??? Uuuuggghhhhhhh... They just completely lost any chance of pulling me back into this. It's so frustrating. >.<;;
ReplyDeleteTaiwanese version seemed to have better pull odds when I played it. Have pretty decent accounts on both, but the game kinda lost flair for me a while back. May try again someday.
Deletei don't know if i want to support this, but i guess i'll give it a try, it is free after all
ReplyDeleteGood. NebulaJoy has not impressed me in the slightest, so seeing this get an official Steam release by CapTai, themselves, which is fully compatible with the save data from the mobile device, means that this game will finally be played as intended with full first-party support, (semi-)globally.
ReplyDeleteStill probably not gonna bother, though. NebulaJoy pretty much killed my interest in playing this. Plus, it kind of sucked that you had to grind to complete the single-player story mode within a reasonable amount of time – which comes into play if you're looking for the 3-Star ranks. But, hey. This is nice for people who want it.
i didnt know it was possible to disappoint by releasing the steam version. ive put money into this game, theres no way im starting over
ReplyDeleteOk, now wake me up when we see X9 or that elusive supposed 2022 title that is supposed to come out that I doubt is what we want, but one can only hope taisen is a sequel to one of the main timeline series. How surprising yet pleasant it would be if it was a MM Legends 3 uncanned but they don't tell us until release is certain to avoid getting our hopes up again only for it to be canned. Else I see no reason to hide details of it even now. Not even a screen or any info even now. 2022 may come and go with nothing but just this endless dive fad.
ReplyDeleteTaisen is likely something else entirely.
Deletewake up! it's August 15th, 2124, CAPCOM finally released a trailer for Taisen, you won't believe this, it's the sequel to Rockman X Math Tornado!
DeleteNo Taisen is likely already cancelled. We will learn about that in 5 years or so.
DeleteCapcom is so foolish they cant even synchronize a disgusting cashgrab under a single developer in ONE market. Its almost comical.
It is surprising (actually not really...) that we've received nothing from Capcom about Taisen, not even any announcements or leaks. Even if this game wasn't coming until the Christmas season, we'd have probably heard SOMETHING by now if this game was still arriving int 2022. Sure, the pandemic has to be taken into account, but it's not like any other Capcom titles seem to be falling on schedule.
DeleteWe haven't gotten proper news since like... late 2019. In order to make sure 11 isn't just a swan song, we gotta ask Capcom the first opportunity we get.
DeleteI mean, if they just flesh out what was done with 11 and release 12, that'd be kinda sweet. 11 did so much right, but assumed people would still be happy with a 3 hour long game xP
DeleteDoesn't help that too many are buying and liking dive. Some say it wouldn't ruin the making of other MM games, but maybe it has. All liking and buying dive does is encourage capcom to do more dive and mobile nonsense and not bother with real MM games, so the ones buying it might be ruining it for the rest of us.
DeleteSo much for their claim that an X9 would depend on how well MMM11 and X collections sold (they sold well). People are often such flakes that can't keep their word. I guess just selling well does not mean they have a desire to make more sequels. How the mighty have fallen. Now all they do now is dive and toys and other one trick ponies.
DeleteBut I thought MM was their flagship and main series. It was back then, at least. May as well not bother with celebrating MM yearly anniversaries. What is there to celebrate lately? Until they make another game, and I don't mean mobile side games that have no connection to canon that is low budget, it may as well be considered a dead series or on a 2nd long hiatus. Nothing lasts forever though, as I tell people. Wow, 3 years and still dive this, dive that. A one trick pony these days. Worse yet, many seem ok with that. No wonder they are only doing dive now.
Really, does dive please most fans these days now? I see people all over here praising dive in comments on some threads and new posts. Should we just do dive for 10 more years? that only encourages more dive and nothing else; they keep on milking it. I would not be surprised if 1 year from now, it is the same old (just dive posts and merch). Probably in 2024, same thing, etc. Sooner or later though, dive will run out of ideas when confined to just dive, though considering how long shows like Simpsons has run, it may be a very long time. Seems these days, many like going small, small screens, small releases, small standards for certain media being so common.
Anyways, I think many here and I have every right complain and rant like I did in this post because I'm sure I'm not alone in this feeling, and I'm pretty sure Shrap agrees with me on this rant, at least with a big chunk of what I said.
Couple things here.
DeleteFirst, we're in the midst of a new evergreeen strategy for the franchise. More time is being spent on developing new titles than pushing one out every year. We know for certain Taisen is (at least) one new, non-mobile title. That game has been in development for a long period of time with a significantly larger budget to boot. The receipts are all in the breached Capcom data from November 2020.
Second, X DiVE continues to thrive because it's making money... and it's signficantly increasing Capcom's income within the mobile sphere. And it's true: just because X DiVE is doing well doesn't detract from what other teams are doing. Literally, all of X DiVE rests in the hands of Capcom Taiwan who lack the resources to produce a "real Mega Man game". This is their territory. X DiVE will continue to fulfill Capcom's ambitions of making their stake in the mobile market, largely abroad. That won't change until the $$$ stops flowing.
I completely get where you're coming from. As a longtime fan, it is frustrating to not have something more "tangible" on consoles right now. But at the same time, I get the approach Capcom are going for. We're just going to have to wait and see what comes from that front in due time. Bear in mind, we're watching a franchise recover from a VERY stagnant period prior to MM11 (in terms of both product and revenue). Capcom are treading lightly and won't announce something until it's good and ready.
Sorry Protodude. I got no beef with you or your team. I appreciate what you do and you are my number one go to source for all things Rockman news related. But we really know absolutely nothing about Taisen outside of information we aren't supposed to have and can't really be trusted. We have undeniable proof that title after title after title is cancelled in development. Such is the nature of the business. That "leak" was over year ago. I still wager it's dead, or at the very least some new bastardization I can safely ignore. I bet you pizza it's either a fighter or a online competition. Taisen means War or Battle after all.
DeleteWe are learning things this very week about old projects we didn't know about, after all. Little details here and there. Don't be shocked to learn that Taisen is cancelled, when someone at Capcom realizes that "Oh yeah, this wasn't gonna work" or something to that affect. But I'm just guessing based on past experience. I could be wrong too. It would be great if they proved me wrong and better yet announced something glorious. But I don't believe current Capcom has it in them anymore.
I was gonna rant on X DuMP, but seriously I'm sick of it. Let the fools who fund it learn the hard way.
I'm pretty sure Taisen is delayed due to Covid. 2023?
DeleteEven if it comes out, it is likely not what we all want (MM12, X9, ZX3, Legends 3). If lucky, it could be the start of a new MM main timeline series between ZX and Legends.
DeleteThey seemingly purposely set Legends or even the creation of the master system and Elysium so far into the future to make room for whatever series that might or might have planned to be made in between. Maybe a 2000 year gap between ZX and the Master system, I would think, if Legends takes place in the year 8000 range, Master was on board for 3000 years prior, then probably a 500+ year gap between Master's death / Trigger locked away to the start of Legends or Volnutt's form being awakened (Kattalox seemingly destroyed a few times within that time). So Maybe around the year 4000 or is when the master system was replacing the elder system (give or take a few centuries) and Elysium was being built and its corresponding orbital elevator that used to connect to Elysium. Maybe the elevator was destroyed after war broke out to help prevent the maybe hostile elder system robots or reploid / human like entities from following. The real pure humans probably decided to escape the once again war torn world and flooding from the war + climate change, and I envision the entire planet covered with ancient high tech styled infrastructure and buildings like global cities of sorts. I guess after this war and the last humans dying on Elysium later, the Master deemed both the artificial human-like entities and pure humans as failures and not deserving of a comeback, hence trying out prototype betas, then creating carbons then later deciding to destroy the system.
I wish more Legends games were put out to explore all that history, or if not, release some official document that tells the lore.
I think it will be a spinoff, not a new subseries.
DeleteI never saw any reason why Legends even needs to be in the main timeline. The whole franchise is a mess as it is, let it stand alone.
DeleteWell it is whether some like it or not. Of course originally, it was supposed to branch off from the bad 'maverick Zero' ending, hence the full impact and shattered pieces of the Eurasia colony caused the continents to shatter (can be seen on the stage selection screen on the final levels if taking that bad path), so gradual sinking of some land masses and some sea level rise, also explaining why we see craters on the surface of the earth on the stage selection in Legends 2 released around the time X5 was. Also X talking about wanting to create Elysium in the bad ending 5 years later. And originally the good ending of X5 leading to the Zero series, though the maverick wars in that path raged on with the virus infecting a mechanoloid 3 years later and without Zero and perhaps without Sigma himself (just the virus and maybe he Wily portion surviving).
DeleteThat was retconned though so X8 became when the Sigma conscious died and virus lived on then the wars raged on with Zero for a while, maybe the Wily portion of the virus either being fought and killed before elf wars and the virus itself, or erased with the virus in elf wars. At this point, Zero 1's ending of fighting mavericks for over 100 years also seems retconned since after Zero was sealed a 2nd time after elf wars, there seems to have been peace for 100 years, aside from the dark elf being eventually sealed maybe quite some time after elf wars ended. I guess one could make it fit by saying for many decades (maybe 90 years), dark elf was occasionally creating maverick outbreaks all the way up to when X sealed her away in his body shortly before Ciel made copy X, but not enough outbreaks in that 90 years to warrant making a MM series between X and Zero series, but still an uncountable number of mavericks X was fighting in Zero's absence.
Well its nice to know that Dr Lights dreams ends under water with a world of replicants...
DeleteCapcom's biggest mistake was to split Mega Man to 7 franchises.
DeleteYeah, in some ways that outcome of a flooded earth is not appealing. Of course in the long run, nothing lasts forever, so we get that and extinctions of humans. Who knows though, even though Legends was supposed to be the ending of the main time line, I imagine the replicants would get super high tech eventually too especially without master system and later elder system to get in their way nor an energy crisis anymore, and repair some of that damage, but of course wars again eventually. A kind of 'the more things change, the more they stay the same' situation or repeated history.
DeleteI feel like you're the same person who said this before a few posts back, can you seriously believe the franchise would've had as much longevity if all we had was classic Megaman? Doubtful. Any long running series is eventually going to branch out - that's just how things last longer.
DeleteYes, the timeline for Megaman as a whole is wack - but that's how timelines tend to work in fiction. Heck, you can argue that's how our own history works in real life. At the end, I'd rather have a screwy timeline that at least tries to create lore, rather than just having the same plot of Dr. Wily trying to take over the world a hundred times over. I mean...we wouldn't have gotten Megaman X - and look at how beloved that franchise is, I'd even argue it's become more popular than classic!
I dunno man, I think it would've been an even bigger mistake for Capcom to not go the path it did.
But classic Mega Man's longevity is in question, though... isn't it.
DeleteThe classic timeline of course being MM through ZX only.
I would argue Legends, EXE and StarForce didn't change the success of the classic timeline in any way that wouldn't be negligible to where we are right now. After all, Zero came out the same time(ish) EXE did.
Those games could have been new franchises, nothing would have been different and fans of those games would have still got them.
We will never know since we live in the darkest timeline. Oh, the irony. I just wonder sometimes.
Just to be clear, are we referring to the commercial success of the franchise or the “success” of the series overall lore (how people perceive the canon)?
DeleteI had wanted to type about how additional series like EXE and X had brought more popularity to the franchise, but eventually I realized what you mean. I love Legends and could honestly care less if it was part of the main timeline. This resonates even more when I think of Battle Network, THAT’’S a series I strongly fail to connect with as a Megaman game.
My original thinking was that it was the addition of subseries like Zero, ZX and others that helped the franchise to grow stronger. In a way it did, but in retrospect I wonder how much of an actual difference it would’ve made if they were their “own thing”.
A lot of EXE fans could just love EXE and care less for classic Megaman as an example. I think I was too focused on the commercial aspect of the franchise, rather than the lore.
I like the multiple series setup in the main timeline, but only the main timeline. Never touched Exe nor did it look interesting at all to me. Those don't count and is not legit Megaman.
DeleteMega Man should have stayed dead tbh.
DeleteFor sure the franchise sales did improve as a whole because of those spinoffs. But I don't believe the cross bleed of fans from EXE to classic was that significant. If anything it would have been the other way around to get EXE off the ground. I do not think that EXE resulted in a massive spike in sales for X7, for example.
DeleteThe bifurcation caused other problems they are still dealing with to this day and its getting worse.
In the end of it, we still had a decade of hiatus with or without the spinoffs and we are 1/5 of the way into the next one. Fun times.
I legit was super excited when I saw this. Downloaded it right away to start playing with real controller support... before realizing it's for the TW version only. If they were gonna bring it over in a more official capacity, why did they ever bother with Nebula Joy? This game is a rollercoaster of bad decisions, but I guess I'm back to emulating and playing on keyboard.
ReplyDeleteif your on Bluestacks you can hook up a wired controller and map the buttons so that your not using a keyboard. Its what i do mate
DeleteWho else decided to jump ship from NebulaJoy's version because of this? Especially after their own attempt at a Mega Man game went south?
ReplyDeleteAppreciate the gesture but for a game that demands 10 versus and 2 co-op rounds a day, the Taiwan version's ping times for a U.S. player are downright unbearable. I jumped ship to NebulaJoy already and, having zero metals and no New Year's Iris on my TW account, I'm not all that eager to go back to them.
ReplyDeleteI have my gripes with Nebula Joy for sure but they are minor compared to my gripes with Capcom Taiwan; Nebula gets more flak than they deserve IMHO. Rush Jet notwithstanding, they were USUALLY good with bug fixes, and they more frequently give out vouchers, rare memories, extra stamina, and free 10-pulls (we just got off 8 days of them for the Monster Hunter crossover). My biggest complaint against Nebula was their removal of seasonal banners while related event stages and login bonuses were still running (literally lost my chance at Halloween Marino for failure to read the fine print), but with the Monster Hunter crossover running 2 weeks for a change, they seem to have taken the hint.
Anyone know how can i download the steam version living in Brazil?
ReplyDeleteThey must release rockman x dive steam version for Brazil. I waiting to continue my progress in my PC.
ReplyDeleteThats good for those who who don't want to use VPN or afraid to get their Steam account lock. This may lead to a better version of MegamanXDive, heck they can be the true global version since they do acknowledged people in North America, like me, been playing the game since launch. This move might be their response to NebulaJoy's handling.
ReplyDeleteMatt McMuscles should cover this game. It would make a good What Happened episode.
ReplyDeletey europa cuando?
ReplyDeleteque mania de poner bloqueos regionales
