This week's Rockman X DiVE update delivers a lot of content. There's the rerun of the "Merry Christmas!" event stage, new armor, new co-op stages and the seventeenth story mode chapter. The latter goes so far as to fully reveal one of three new characters.
Find all the details after the break!
From left to right: Angie, Droitclair and Erato. |
With story mode chapter 17, Rockman X DiVE introduces its take on the Old Castle stage, i.e Shade Man stage's from Rockman 7. It features Magna Quartz and Magna Centipede from Rockman X2 as bosses. But more importantly, chapter 17 moves Rockman X DiVE's story forward in a significant way.
During the Pulsing Force of Destruction event stage, three mysterious figures were introduced: Angie, Droitclair and Erato. The three siblings are designated as "pure ones" -- individuals yet to be converted into Hunter Programs. Chapter 17 shifts its focus on Droitclair. She's annoyed at RiCO, ViA and the player's "happiness". Droitclair is intent on destroying them... but things don't go her way.

Let us know in the comments what you think about Droitclair's design and where the storyline is headed!
too many waifus...
ReplyDeleteis it just me, or Rockman slowly become Rockwoman XDD
DeleteYou can never have too many waifus. We need as much female representation as we can get.
DeleteIt's not about too many female characters. Hell, Megaman, especially the X series needs more, but this is not it.
DeleteAll these new characters (sans RiCo) don't look like they fit into the series at all. They look like rejected vocaloids and are drawn way too moe.
I used to love Keisuke Mizuno's art since MHX. Now his style is nothing like how it was and is just simple and too generic, especially where the female characters are concerned.
Really makes me miss Haruki Suetsugu AKA SENSEI as the series designer and artist. How the mighty have fallen.
Can never have too many waifus? yeah you're definitely not ill. I can't understand how people get so weird with anime girls like this. Go touch grass
DeleteYou first small man.
Deleteno berkana, but we get random OCs. There are still more X characters to give us y'know
ReplyDeleteWow, another female character being added. I think her design is okay, but her bare shoulders are off-putting. I also like her teardrop makeup she has. So, we have 4-6 new female characters (not sure about Erato at the moment) and 1 new male character (not including crossover characters) that have been introduced.
ReplyDeleteErato is a female character, yes. She uses female characters' sounds of text entering or how is that even called.
DeleteI don't hate it, but it doesn't fit the series very much.
ReplyDeleteOut of all the bad un-Rockman looking characters to come out of this game his might be the worst one.
ReplyDeleteMy first reaction was "Fu fu fu, bwa ha ha"
Delete"What the hell, that iCO is a real pain in the ass!!"
ReplyDeleteDigging the design btw.
I genuinely thought her design was some YouTuber's avatar. The color shading is very flat compared to what DiVE usually presents, it looks out of place.
ReplyDeletelooks like something off a mediocre deviant art. but hey, people who used to write bad fanfiction are the ones writing tv shows and movies now so why not.
ReplyDeleteYou know what could have solved the look problem , instead of the hair clips , they had to give her a helmet or
ReplyDeleteeven a special looking metallic hair like pallette , it would have looked way better and it would keep the design that they were aiming for with her looking like a mega man x character .
Alternately, they could have shown X and Zero without their helmets. It is admittedly odd that the original Rock and Roll are the only robots to have full heads of hair until Mega Man ZX. That's probably overdue for a correction. Without that, Droitclair would be better with pigtails that plug into a helmet like Zero's ponytail does. Even Alia, Layer, and the other girls look odd with full heads of hair.
DeleteMeanwhile I'm still waiting for Nana.
ReplyDeleteLooks like this game is starting to get out of hand. But it's not like it was ever going to effectively expand the brand anyway. It's free to become like every other mobile game stuffed to the seams with cute girls, though it sure does make it look like it's getting desperate for attention.
ReplyDeleteWhile cute, Just as i assumed the design is'nt very Mega Man X-like.
ReplyDeleteThat's a monster high character.
ReplyDeleteI am seriously wondering if the company feels the target audience couldn't possibly simp for a badass character, and resorts to the safety net of disposable waifus instead.
ReplyDeleteWhy not hire another character designer?
Exactly. Where's the badass female characters that actually LOOK like reploids?
DeleteKeisuke Mizuno is getting ridiculous. They should replace him with SENSEI at this point.
i can't BELIEVE that sigma's new plan involves him getting a bunch of rejected anime character designs and making them beat the everliving shit out of a blue zero.
ReplyDeleteLol.
DeleteAnd boy does zero look terrible in blue.
I don't really have much of an opinion on this character mostly because we only got a bust of her.
ReplyDeleteI will say that she needs to get rid of that makeup, though. It makes her look like a goth clown.
Further opinions will be reserved until the rest of her is shown. Five bucks says she has human-sized legs, though.
Especially given her shoulders look too human.
DeleteMakeup that makes her look like a goth clown? Don't you think you're reaching too far?
Delete@Momoyoy
Delete"Don't you think you're reaching much?"
Not really, no.
Man, this really is gonna be "just another gacha". I hope we get more news about the major upcoming titles soon.
ReplyDeleteMan this looks like a rejected vocaloid...I hope the other 2 new characters have better desings
ReplyDeleteThis is just getting out of hand.
ReplyDeleteFirst, Ico, now this?
I'm sorry, but these female characters are starting to look too human-like. It was fine when we had swimsuits for the ladies (but some reason none for the males), and it just established my head canon that reploids have human bodies outside their armor.
But this? This is just ridiculous. And I'm under the impression that it's not just for fanservice (gross), but they're deliberately catering to the weeb demographic.
Is this the future of my favorite series?
Please, I hope not cuz this is just shameful.
There is a little assumption going on this character is a Reploid. X DiVE takes place in the "real world" sort of. All the Reploids are just data. This character could be human.
DeleteThat's for all the players of this "thing" to figure out. You'll have to tell me how it goes.
Her ears do look Reploidy; only her bare shoulders are especially off-brand.
DeleteSo do Ciel's... She's human.
Delete...Yeah.
DeleteDude i mean this is just so damn annoying to constantly see. "Gothic" girl with cyber punk theme colors? Like it's becoming painfully obvious that the weeb demographic is just taking over the entire gaming industry. It's so disturbing and just deplorable at this point just shoving in these underage girl characters to just shove down player's throats. Just stop with it and give us designs like alia, pallette, or ciel. This is so absurd.
ReplyDeleteWhen did my favorite series start turning into Fire Emblem, full of waifus who don't really fit the aesthetic of Mega Man? What is with this obsession for Moe like characters in like every modern game, especially mobile games? To each their own, but not for a series that is already well established. I feel that Reploids should at least, you know, look like Reploids? At least until the ZX series where they're nearly indistinguishable. I get annoyed by the all X Dive news to be honest because it just feels like a bunch of weird fanfiction at this point, and it's sad, because I know the devs are probably big fans of the series.
