Rockman X DiVE Steam Version Now Available in Asia

After months of speculation, datamine leaks, and an eventual official announcement, Rockman X DiVE finally showed up on Steam in select regions in Asia...

The Steam version live in Taiwan, Macau, Thailand, Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Philippines, Cambodia and India.

Although the game isn't available in most other regions, it is relatively easy to add it to your Steam library with a VPN. We don't recommend or encourage this method, as it's against Steam's TOS to use a VPN.

As reported before, the Steam version supports a number of gamepads. The PlayStation 5 Dual Sense works flawlessly, for example. There's even a small variety of options to configure performance and graphics. Nothing to write home about here, though. The graphics are clearly not a priority; much of the game uses low quality assets from the Android version in many places.

While this version has its own sets of bugs that seem to vary depending on the player, the overall performance appear to be very smooth. It's the best version of the game at the time of this writing.

Naturally, this version comes with its own set of Steam achievements. Nothing out of the ordinary or particularly challenging -- neat nonetheless.

At the moment, we have no news on whether or not the Steam version will become available in the West. We do know for certain that NebulaJoy have no plans to support it. Our best bet is to contact Capcom Taiwan (via Facebook) and request it.

Let us know what you think if you had the chance to play it!

  1. That's ok. I have no plans to support NebulaJoy. Why, the symmetry is perfect.

    1. Yeah, wake me up when an X9 is in the works vs this pseudo MMX stuff ;)

  2. I still want to know why this version is so big, size-wise, compared to the mobile versions. If there are no real additions, then there shouldn't be much difference in file size, much less a 500% increase in size.

    1. Probably, typical bloatware/"legal spyware" that recollects info of you cause yea, thats totally legal and common in China.
Specially considering NebulaJoy is a Tencent subsidiary.

  3. To be honest, at this point, I doubt I'd give X Dive a fair shake even if it were available on Steam in the West.

  6. This kind of makes me feel like MMXDiVE's engine is going to be the basis for MMX9's engine, which is kind of disappointing, but DiVE DOES look nice. Still though, I'd like to be wow'ed by something new looking when they finally make the reveal.

    1. Dive supposedly uses a customized Maverick Hunter X engine so really doubt it

    2. that implies a possibility of X9 happening.

    3. Truth be told, graphics don't mean anything to me. I have played one too many games that are beautiful but boring as hell. If the game is fun to play, that's what I care about.
That being said, I would not mind one bit if Capcom used this engine to re-master the existing X games, at least 2-7.
If they ever get off of their ass for X9, I don't care if they go old school, new school, prep school or private school as long as it plays correctly. This engine would suit me fine so long as it removes the GACHA bullshit.

The funny thing about that? It may be a customized Maverick Hunter X game, but every single character controls like Zero from Mega Man X7/X8; has a double-jump, severely short-range air-dash, and a mid-air spin attack with melee weapons.

    5. Well, MHX and this has crappy explosion effects. X8 and the PSX explosions were far better. X7 even had good effects. But the way bosses exploded in MHX was boring (nothing but an expanding orb, really?). I guess PSP was bad at particle and explosion effects?) Mobile games seem bad in that area too when watching youtube vids on them. I would take MMX SNES smoke and explosions of bosses over MHX, which is ironic since a graphically superior game should have better explosions; not worse. Look how good the particle effects are on Raiden 2 (why do later games lack such effects despite better graphics?: https://youtu.be/EsfAuKHlqa8?t=59

  7. Really hoping to see this make it to the west! Despite its flaws, MMX Dive has been a welcome respite from the X-series drought.
