If you've been eyeing something from the Capcom Store, well, you might want to get a jump on that. Capcom Store USA is officially closing down, the team announced on Twitter. The last day to place an order is May 1st. Supplies are limited (perhaps more than usual) so whatever it is you're hoping to buy, grab it ASAP.
Capcom Store USA first opened its doors in the Summer of 2000. It started off bare but grew into a place where fans could scoop up games and merchandise. The store's offering ebbed and flowed through the years; never quite catching up to the sheer magnitude of Capcom Japan's E-Capcom. But for many of us old timers, it was the go-to place to amass our Mega Man, Resident Evil and Street Fighter collections. I know I bought quite a few Mega Man shirts there myself. Good times.
Now, it's worth noting that it remains to be seen if this is literal end of Capcom Store USA. It's closed down before on more than one occasion, only to reemerge a few months later with a fresh coat of paint. Only time will tell.
Until then... place your orders now!
The merch is already gone.
ReplyDeleteSooo… I'm looking at the store and… they have three games available for order: Devil May Cry 5 Deluxe, Resident Evil 3, Resident Evil 2. And… that's it. The other games, Monster Hunter Rise/Deluxe Edition, Monster Hunter World: Iceborn Master Edition and Resident Evil: Biohazard, Gold Edition are all Waiting List-only while the Resident Evil Triple Pack is "No Longer Available". And, as Mattwo pointed out… there is absolutely nothing else listed on the store, aside from a Monster Hunter sticker that's on the Waiting List. Oh, and all the Membership Rewards. Those are all still available, strangely enough…
ReplyDeleteI should point out, I'm not logged in. Maybe it's different for actual customers…?
Non-American here. Is this a physical store or a website?

Deletei would buy something but you buy with points?
ReplyDeletePart of the reason it failed. Was tempted to get them Mega Man headphones... But since I didn't have enough frequent shopper points, that was a bust.
DeleteMy favorite memory of the capcom store was when marvel vs capcom 3 had an exclusive shirt with pre orders of the limited edition. The package came a week late, compeletly soaking wet. The dlc code was already used for jill and shuma, and the xl shirt I had selected was instead a medium. When I hit them up I get an email back 3 days later "If you want the dlc the game must be returned completly sealed and unopended and the t shirt must be returned......
ReplyDeleteThe package came with the game already open and the dlc used.......heres pictures of the soaking wet package, and the incorrect size on the shirt. A week later they finally get around to saying fine if you send it back we'll replace the game but theres nothing we can do about the shirt we only made medium. Ok w/e send the game back.....nothing....nothing......email em again and like usual a few days later " we received an already open'd game and no t shirt. The dlc has already been used so we cannot grant you a replacement." Last time I ever used their shop, glad to see it go.
