The much-anticipated Capcom vs. Osamu Tezuka Characters art exhibit is a mere ten days away! And to keep appetites whet, Rockman Unity has posted a sample of the kind of artwork visitors can expect to see.
Shown above is Astro Boy drawn by Mega Man series artist Keisuke Mizuno, striking a valiant pose next to classic series Mega Man by Tezuka Productions contributor Urumu Tsunogai. Pretty neat, wouldn't you say? We've gone full circle here!
As previously reported, the exhibit will feature artwork of Capcom characters illustrated by Tezuka Productions staff and Tezuka characters by Capcom staff. Special commemorative merchandise will be available to purchase as well. This unique, collaborative exhibit opens its doors on October 23rd, 2020. It will end on February 23rd, 2021.
If you happen to be in Japan in the near future, you can reserve a ticket here! And please, snap some pictures!
I still say Mega Man looks more classic and with clearer direction than Astro Boy without the art style exchange any day.
ReplyDeleteBut with the artstyle switch it's a novel sight and cool nonetheless.
Nope. Astro boy looks more classic than Mega man

DeleteSeeing Astro Boy like that makes me almost wanna see him in DiVE...
ReplyDeleteBut the artwork on both sides looks great!
That would'nt be the worst choice for a collab. Maybe some day, if dive meets enough success to get theses kind of crossover.
DeleteAstro looks weird with big bright light blue eyes like that. Is that Rock in cosplay? I mean he does have the Mega Man helmet ear things.
ReplyDeleteNo he doesn’t look weird
Deletethis makes me want to see a tatsunoko vs capcom style animation made for the exhibition.:3
ReplyDeleteSpeaking of which, it still makes me sad that Capcom, as far as we know, hasn't tried anything to get the license back and re-release the game or make a upgraded port to current consoles (including the Switch).
DeleteYa Quiero Ver A Astro Boy En X DiVE
ReplyDeleteSurprised that they included a detail for Tobio's "Omega Factor" core with his overall Megaman 11-inspired design, likewise for Rock's (as in Rockman, not Osamu Tezuka's (in)famous antihero, Rock,) classic 50's/60's-styled art by Tezuka Productions!
ReplyDeleteThis is looking to be quite the ambitious crossover exhibit/event since Transformers vs Mazinger Z, I wager~!
Rock isn’t infamous. Ozamu’s rock is a hero. Not an anti hero
