Capcom Announces "Tokyo Game Show 2020 Online" Schedule
Capcom has announced their streaming schedule and partial game lineup for this year's Tokyo Game Show. Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, this year's show will be strictly online. Find all the details below!
Everything starts on September 25 with the broadcast of the "Capcom Special Program" on the official Tokyo Game Show YouTube Channel. With a duration of 50 to 60 minutes, Capcom will deliver the latest game updates and reveals. The only title confirmed for the program so far is Resident Evil Village.
On September 26 and 27, Capcom will be holding a special broadcast on their YouTube Channel for around 3 hours everyday. These broadcasts will feature development teams showing off their latest games and new information for each title.
For everyone outside Japan, we will be able to watch the stream via Capcom USA's Twitch channel with English subtitles. Check out the schedule below:
The only titles confirmed so far are Street Fighter V: Champion Edition (PS4, PC) and Resident Evil Village (PS5, Xbox Series X, PC). At the time of this writing, we don't know if the Rockman Series will have any presence at this year's show. Looking back at the last two years, though, Rockman 11 had a strong presence in 2018 and last year the Rockman Zero & ZX Double Hero Collection was present ahead of its February 2020 release.
In 2019 we also got the announcement of the Rockman × TEAM SHACHI Collaboration Project and a peek to the Rockman & Rockman X 5-In-1 Special Box WIP box design.
Don't forget: the next major Rockman game entered pre-production in 2019. Mega Man series producer Kazuhiro Tsuchiya confirmed that "the next game to be developed has already been decided on". It remains to be seen if this title is ready to be revealed. We will have to wait and see.
On the other hand, Rockman EXE's 20th anniversary is just around the corner, too. And as we already know, Capcom are actively seeking partners to release products for the anniversary. Maybe we'll get some news at TGS... a collection, per chance? Who knows...
TGS could also be the perfect occasion to introduce Rockman X DiVE to the Japanese public as well.
The show is a mere three weeks away! We will keep you posted!

Cool!! I'm super excited! :)
ReplyDeleteIt's still to early for the next game to be revealed. I think the most that would revealed is the Battle Network mobile game.
ReplyDeleteThat alone would be a dream come true. Even if they don't use that as an excuse to finally make a net navi counterpart for Crash Man, it would be nice if every net navi Megaman.exe has fused with (not counting Django) was playable.
DeleteNo it isn't, unless they are working on some massive next gen open world RPG or something like that. Mega Man games were released yearly back at it's peak. They already have multiple working game engines. They should have something by now. It's been just shy of two years.
DeleteOpen world RPG eh? Legends 3 could easily fit that genre...even though I know it’s unlikely right now.
DeleteWhile i completely agree that it's about time they anounce something new, releasing one game or more a year was one of the franchise problem at a point. especially with how strictly the game from a given serie stick to that serie formula. This is what led to rushed products like X6-7 or a loss of interest from the public.
DeleteThey should release game regularly, but by Alternating between the various subseries.
This is exactly why I can’t help but groan a little when people want a Megaman 12 already..
DeleteWith all respect to Mega Man, I really do hope we will finally get a new Ace Attorney game...
ReplyDeleteIf AA trilogy did well, i guess a new title is'nt out of the question.
DeleteOoh, the possibilities! Even if it's just another Legacy Collection or a new EXE phone title, I'll be happy!
ReplyDeleteFingers crossed for X9. Though a Battle Network release of some sort might be more likely.
ReplyDeleteI'll wait and see.
ReplyDeleteEven aside of Rockman, i'm curious about whatever they could anonce.
It would be nice to wake up to an X9 reveal. I didn't wait this long for an EXE game (a series that's already ended)...
ReplyDeleteThough any console game would be a huge improvement.
They can keep their mobile games.
Kinda wanna learn more about Resident Evil too.
The 2010s called, they want their closed mindedness back.
DeleteYuck ... I hate Resident Evil. :/
DeleteLooking forward to the other great news though!! :)
I'm with you Shrap, Classic got 11 after they made bank on Legacy Collection, natural thing would be to do the same for X as the next in line. Half of that is already done. Mobile Mega Man games are trash (for me anyway).
DeleteResident Evil in general or just Village? If the former keep reading, if not I guess someone will maybe find this useful. Resident Evil is sweet, give it a whirl.
Start with Resident Evil Remake, then play the original 2 then play 4 they are all available on PS4 and PC. Not sure about Switch. These should give you a feel for what made the franchise great then if you dig it, try to find an original 3 (a bit hard, not available on any modern platform easily outside of piracy), then Revelations (remastered or original both are great and original is easily the best looking 3DS game to date imo), then 5 to break up the monotony of puzzle based survival horror RE, then 7, then if your craving more 2 remake and give 6 a shot since it is controversial you have to play it for yourself, after that look into the more niche ones and maybe dabble in those, I'd give Code Veronica (on PS Store for cheap), 3 Remake (if you can find it for less than 30$ maybe on sale or something) and Revelations 2 Deluxe as a total package (bundled PS4 or PC since it comes in episodes), maybe if you can find a copy and own a PS2 outbreak a try/go. I'd avoid or research most of the others I've not listed.
"The 2010s called, they want their closed mindedness back"
The irony of this played out throwback 90s reference line/joke being used to call somebody's mentality dated...
I don't think they should return to the previous too many games too often model, I just don't think it should take this long to announce the next game. An announcement and a release are two separate things, though. It's not like it has to come out 3 months after an announcement. It could take another 2 years and that's fine as long as we know progress is being made.
DeleteDamn, the reply I was gonna post got all foobar and this one got added to the wrong reply. But basically, if not supporting a mobile game that panders to people with OCD who whale on overpriced digital slot machines makes me close minded, then I am damn glad I am closed minded.
DeleteOn Resident Evil, I just wanna know what they are doing with Chris in that trailer for Village.
I'm interested only in Mega Man news in this Tokyo Game Show.
ReplyDeleteHopefully we do get something about an actual console game, instead of news and updates about dive and that new VR MM11 game.
ReplyDeleteNot to knock off anyone enjoying that stuff, but It’s almost 2 years since MM11’s release, I’d like to hear that the ball is rolling on actual console games instead of just mobile content.
I think they'll anounce something either now, or in december.
Deletefinger crossed for Rockman Bowling Patchinko Gacha X (especially the VR edition !) C'mon Capcom you can do it !
ReplyDeleteI'm really intrigued by rockman x programing so I hope we get more details on that
ReplyDeleteMm12, X9, MM Legends Collection n possibly ZX3 from my analysis
ReplyDelete"perfect to introduce Rockman x Dive to the Japanese pulbic"
ReplyDeleteWait so is the game NOT out there? I've noticed a lot of it seems to be in English, but it's still not on the app store that I can see, so just where is this game available, and if it IS in English mostly then can we just get it in all of America already so I can play the darn thing? It's really annoying seeing news for something you can't play because they refuse to release it where I am. I mean it's not like I can import a mobile game...
The game has Japanese text but have yet to be formally released there. The same as Europe and USA.
DeleteSeems like Arcade1-Up is doing more with Capcom games than Capcom themselves these days.
ReplyDeleteLet's hope this show turns that around.
Resident Evil 5 (also known as Biohazard 5) is the sensational reprise to the series that most fans never expected. Once again you play as Chris Redfield, but that is virtually the only similarity to the past games. Instead of fighting your way through Racoon City, you're sent into a fictional town Africa (virtually in the middle of nowhere) that has been reporting strange goings-on and bioterrorism. https://twitchviral.com/
