Looking for a new fan-game to get excited about? Then check out Mega Man Slide by Rishy! Mega Man Slide aims to put a new spin on the tried-and-true formula with a large emphasis on, you guessed it, *sliding*. The Mega Man 8-inspired visual style is a nice touch, too!
More details:
"In Mega Man Slide, Mega can enhances his sliding capabilities with the weapons he has available to him, such as Noise Slide. The Noise Slide gives Mega a window of invincibility when activated so that you can easily avoid enemy attacks. It also appears Mega Man meets and old friend in the Facility, who's not in the best condition."
It's worth noting that Mega Man Slide is in early development, so we may not be getting our hands on this one for a little while. However, you can very much look forward to additional updates coming soon to the game's official YouTube channel, Twitter and Discord server. And if you liked what you heard in the video above, check out the game's composer, Quack Man, on YouTube!
Good luck, MMS Team! This looks amazing.
Wow, this is a really good looking game. I love the 16-bit/32-bit feel to it, the animations, and the character design. It all looks really good.
ReplyDeleteNo one wants Mega Man Powered Up 2 anymore?
DeleteI want a powered up 2.
Deletei HATE JUMP JUMP SLIDE SLIDE SECTIONS
DeleteIf there's not a "JUMP! JUMP!, SLIDE! SLIDE!" section in this game, someone is gonna be disappointed.
ReplyDeleteJokes aside, graphics looks impressive. Going with MM8 style game sound FX from what I can tell.
Seems pretty interesting.
Awesome mix of MM7, 8, 10, and 11.
ReplyDeleteIt looks even better than MM Perfect Blue. Amazing!
ReplyDeleteTHIS should be the path Capcom should take for the next Mega Man game.
Those visuals are just rocking my world
ReplyDeleteDammit how are these fan games popping up everywhere yet Capcom can barley produce one brand new from the ground up visually unique game a decade?
ReplyDeleteClearly it's because we didn't buy enough Mega Man merchandise. We should be ashamed of ourselves. /s
DeleteThis really illustrates how the series could be as a whole if it didn't rely so heavily on 8-bit aesthetics so much.
ReplyDeleteI think fans who think Mega Man works best only in 8-bit (which is of course wrong) need to figure out that much.
DeleteEver since I played Megaman 1-11, I always wanted to play a Megaman game related so bad. Ever since I saw this, now I want to play Megaman Slide

ReplyDeletethat MegaMan thinking sprite... he looks like Phoenix Wright
ReplyDeleteLooks like someone hasn't forgotten the Omega-Xis outfit from the promotional images.
ReplyDeleteI definitely dig the style. The Pump Man arrangement doesn't jive with me as much, but I'm still interested in this nonetheless.
ReplyDeleteThe fact this game is using the MM11 Star Force placeholder gives this a thumbs up in my book.
