Here's a Better Look at Dr. Wily From Boom!'s Mega Man Fully Charged Comic
The variant cover art for Mega Man Full Charged issue #2 just dropped and a closer look at the comic's Dr. Wily incarnation. He's clad in a purple suit, wearing a purple tie laced with the letter "W" and, to complete the package, suspenders over the shirt from Rocko's Modern Life. Oh my.
We know next to nothing about the Boom! Studios Dr. Wily. This cover, illustrated by Miguel Mircado, gives off a very eccentric-like quality. A little bit of Doc Brown or Bill Nye? Then again Wily is depicted as an enigmatic figure on the standard issue #2 cover. Regardless, it will be interesting to see where Boom! takes this version of the character. It could be unlike any Wily we've seen before.
Mega Man Fully Charged issue #1 goes on sale this August followed by issue #2 in late September.

Dr. Fab.
ReplyDeleteI like his Rocko's Modern Life shirt.
ReplyDeleteDang, lookin' mighty snazzy, Dr. W!
ReplyDeleteHe looks like a high school teacher.
ReplyDeleteThis series puzzles me to no end 😅
ReplyDeleteLooks like someone came out or should be put into a mental ward
ReplyDeleteWell it's consistent anyway.
ReplyDeleteI do like the W's on his suspenders and tie though. Wily all about his brand.
They nailed George Carlin on a drunken-disorderly charge...
ReplyDeleteI was gonna say something, but this comment is one-hundred times better than anything I could come up with.
DeleteThat's an insult to George Carlin and you know it! D:<
DeleteI can only say: Great Scott!
ReplyDeleteI saw that shirt and thought Taco Bell...
ReplyDeleteNow I want nachos.
Dang, I actually wish I had a suit that brightly colored.
ReplyDeleteWe'll see how this comic plays out. It might crash and burn, but it might soar like Gyro Man.
In the original art style I think it might have worked. But this art style is so tonally jarring it's like they don't understand not only what's appealing about the show, but about Megaman as a whole.
ReplyDeleteAnd I, for one, have already signed up for this at my local comic book shop.
I'm getting Jim Carrey vibes from Wily's design.
ReplyDeleteCount Olaf?
DeleteDr. Wahwee more like Dr. Wowee.
ReplyDelete....I'll show myself out
It cracks me up how they keep shopping mega man around and just let the art work get worse and worse and worse. It's like first 4 figures got a comic license or something.
