Kotobukiya have posted new images for the upcoming "Rising Fire" Mega Man X model kit to
Twitter. What's more, the manufacturer confirmed that the kit will include new and exclusive "magma" X Buster effect parts. As a special bonus, a "Dragon Flame Blade" part for the Zero model kit will be included as well! You can check that out
here.
For the uninitiated, this kit is based on X's Rising Fire color scheme from
Mega Man X4. It was
revealed at Winter Wonder Festival 2020 in February.
More details, release date and pricing are expected to be announced shortly.
I hope we get to see the Fourth Armor kits soon! This was a nice surprise. I'm half debating getting one to customize into Speed Burner....
ReplyDeleteProbably would've been cooler to have a Magma Dragoon kit though, although I do like the colors on this one.
ReplyDeleteMagma Dragoon would be an instant buy for me. So far ain't nobody ever bothered to capitalize on X's huge gallery of bosses aside from Sigma and Vile.
DeleteI agree, but Magma Dragoon would have required some effort on Kobobukiya's part; this whole kit is just a recoloring of existing parts, except for the part that spirals around the arm and Zero's Ryuenjin effect. The vibe I'm getting from this line after assembling the first two designs is lazy. Kotobukiya isn't really clearing the bar Bandai has been setting for model kit quality, and Koto kits are way overpriced.
DeleteThis particular sculpt is the most stable/well-engineered of Kotobukiya's X kits, and I am glad I have one in my collection, but I'm going to pass because I was disappointed with the Max Armor kit. I'll probably just get Zero and stop buying this line.
There has to be someone out there who's willing to create figures of the Maverick bosses. I'm getting tired of only seeing X and Zero figures, with the occasional Vile or Sigma here and there. That's only going to go so far before people get tired of seeing variations of both heroes. There are other characters they could use and the stage bosses have long since become much more interesting thanks to their backstories in both the games and manga series. I would pay big money for high quality figures of Neon Tiger and Burn Dinorex, to name a couple.
DeleteIts beautiful, i will definitely get it.
ReplyDeleteWill this be the chosen line that will bring us Mavericks? lets hope so
If I can get an Alia and Iris, I will be happy.
DeleteShrap: there's a 1/12 Iris model kit from Hobby Rock 2015 on Yahoo! Auctions, but I think it's $200.
DeleteI don't see the appeal myself, but it's the only Iris iteration I've seen.
I've seen those. Never liked the way they look.
DeleteI made my own Alia... And I don't like how it looks either, plus it's Mega Armor scaled.
I'm more hyped by the next Fourth Armor, but why not for this one. The color is cool and it's an original alternative version of the classic. Kotobukiya really doing awesome job on those figures.
ReplyDeleteSomebody please 3D print a piece to fill in Zero's hair.
ReplyDeleteI'm undecided on this one. I might, I might not. I probably will.
ReplyDeleteBased on my understanding of the 4th armor, though, I am a bit upset. The regular version isn't coming with the black arm parts. I want that on the standard. And I want the color variant to match. They should BOTH be coming with either arm part. That way we don't have to order 4 or paint them to make them work.
Seriously. Add 5 bucks to the price. I don't care!
I wish they sold the LED's too. I still need to find some.
I'm with you on the arms. I prefer my Fourth Armor with the black and red arms. I dont wanna have to customize them, but I will if I have to...
DeleteIt won't be as simple as spray painting black and red. The colors will be special blends, for sure. The arms look like a German grey/black mix maybe.
