Capcom Seeking Partners for Mega Man Battle Network 20th Anniversary Products in 2021
If you're a Battle Network fan, you might want to keep a close eye on 2021. Today, Capcom Japan have begun recruiting licensing partners to develop Mega Man Battle Network 20th anniversary products. These include toys, action figures, apparel, special events and other consumer goods.
The very existence of this recruitment program alone suggests that Capcom has big plans in store for Battle Network's 20th. It signals their intent on celebrating the anniversary under an official banner, much like Mega Man X's 25th anniversary. In 2016, Capcom previously recruited partners for Mega Man X's 25th anniversary, an event wholly separate from the franchise's overall 30th anniversary. The result was a number of commemorative X goods from new figures and soundtracks to two critically and commercially successful collections: Mega Man X Legacy Collection 1 and Mega Man X Legacy Collection 2.
Of course, it's much too early for Capcom to announce anything concrete. There's plenty of time between now and next March. Only time will tell, I suppose.

"Super Mega Man" Joins Rockman X DiVE This Week
Another character joins the Deep Log as part of the Rockman and Rockman X DiVE collaboration event! Last week it was Mega Man, Proto Man and Roll. And now, it's "Super Mega Man" from Mega Man 7.
Super Mega Man, an S Rank character, will be out next Thursday after the usual maintenance period. He comes with an impressive Triple Jump and two skills: Supporting Beat where Beat acts as a helper attacking enemies on-screen no matter how far they are, and Rocket Buster, a homing attack that will dealt damage on his way back to Super Mega Man.
Let us know what you think about Super Mega Man in the comments! Isn't the animation from the character screen wonderful?

I had the chance to sit down with Omar to talk a little about this piece, his history as an artist, and other odds-and-ends that you might find interesting. Grab an E-Tank, pull up a chair and join us below!

As promised by the development team a week ago, a survey to voice our opinions about Rockman X DiVE has finally go online. Find all the details below!
Mega Man Franchise Now at 36 Million Units Total, Mega Man 11 at 1.2 Million Units
Capcom has updated their Game Series Sales and Platinum Titles pages to reflect the fiscal year ending March 31st, 2020. Unfortunately, we do not have any data on how well Mega Man Zero/ZX Legacy Collection performed this past quarter. Nevertheless, we do have some good news:
- Mega Man 11 saw an additional 200,000 units in sales between November 2019 to March 31st, 2020. The game has now officially sold 1.2 million units. Mega Man 11 continues to be the fastest selling Mega Man title in well over 25 years.
- As of March 31st, the Mega Man franchise has moved 36 million units in lifetime sales. That's an additional million from May 2019. We can assume the bump was from Mega Man Zero/ZX Legacy Collection and further steady sales of Mega Man 11, Mega Man Legacy Collection 1+2 and Mega Man X Legacy Collection 1+2.
At the end of the day, the franchise remains in a healthy state. Mega Man 11, Mega Man Legacy Collection 1+2 and Mega Man X Legacy Collection 1+2 continue to show strong legs. I think it's safe to say that those discounted sales across multiple storefronts really helped. Now, as for ZX/Zero Legacy Collection... it's difficult to pin-point how it's doing. Pending official word from Capcom, we can only speculate.
We'll let you know if we hear anything concrete.

Wonder Festival Fall 2020 Cancelled; New Mega Man Figures Will Be Shown "Later"
Wonder Festival organizers announced that Wonder Festival Fall 2020 has been cancelled over COVID-19 concerns. The event would have taken place on November 1st, 2020.
Traditionally, new Mega Man figures and toys are revealed at Wonder Festival. Manufacturers such as Kotobukiya, Good Smile and Sentinel have used the event to show off prototypes, among other tantalizing details. Although Wonder Festival 2021 is still on track to take place on February 7th, 2021, these companies still intend on sharing news about the latest Mega Man figures this year.
Representatives from Kotobukiya, Sentinel and Mega House (makers of the upcoming Rockman.EXE vs Forte.EXE diorama) informed me that they will "pursue different opportunities this year" to share updates on existing products and announcements about new Mega Man figures. Due to the ongoing pandemic, development and distribution of said products may be affected. There is no guarantee that these products, both previously announced and unannounced, will make their respective target release dates.
More information on this topic will be shared in the near future.

"Battle Chip Gate" Homebrew Turns Your Game Boy Advance into a Working BCG!
The Mega Man Battle Network homebrew scene continues to amaze once again with the release of "Battle Chip Gate Homebrew"! Created by The Rockman EXE Zone's Greigamaster, this handy app turns a Game Boy Advance with a flash cartridge into a real, working Battle Chip Gate. Simply put, you don't need to fork over an arm and a leg to buy a physical Battle Chip Gate or its complementary Battle Chips anymore. I mean, unless you really want to. It's a neat commodity.
Anyway! This app is 100% compatible with both English and Japanese versions of Mega Man Battle Network 4, 4.5, 5, 6 and Mega Man Zero 3. Users can create folders for easy access to favorite chips and slot-in Program Advance combos automatically, too! Sure, the novelty of physically slotting chips into the gate will be missed... but this app is so much easier to use!
If it piques your interest, head on over to TREZ and read more about it!
Nicely done, Greigamaster! You've really outdone yourself!
