Mega Man 1 & Mega Man 2 Mini Cabinet Coming Later This Year
Arcade1Up, makers of the officially-licensed Mega Man plug and play, are reportedly developing a mini tabletop arcade machine featuring,Mega Man 1 and Mega Man 2. The device is based on the classic Coleco arcade form factor and features a full LCD display, a rechargeable lithium battery, and Mega Man 2-inspired wrap around art.
A prototype version of the device was featured at CES 2020. The screenshot on the packaging is from Mega Man X3 -- Crush Crawfish's stage, to be exact. Oops! Hopefully this will be fixed for the consumer version of the device. Makes me wonder if that was meant for a totally different, unannounced Mega Man X product. Hmm..
Regardless, both the mini arcade and the plug and play dongle/controller are due to launch at an unannounced date later this year.

The screenshot on the package is actually Crush Crawfish's level from Mega Man X3. You can see X in a ride armor on the left and a Hamma Hamma on the right.
ReplyDeleteLess likely that it's a mistake and more likely that they just used a screenshot for their prototype packing that was quickly returned with a Google search and didn't worry about it being accurate.
ReplyDeleteHow many of these do we have now?
ReplyDeletewhat a missed opportunity for the power battles and power fighters.
ReplyDeleteErm.... that's cool and all I guess, but wouldn't it have made more sense to put the Power Fighters and Power Battles on there instead? You can literally get MM1&2 anywhere else.
ReplyDeleteRather have Mega Man: The Power Battle and Mega Man 2: The Power Fighters on there. I mean, don't get me wrong, this is cool and all, but this was a SERIOUSLY missed opportunity.
ReplyDeleteSeriously, just 1 and 2? You could probably fit a lot more of them on there. 1-8, MM&B, the Game Boy games, the arcade games, etc.
ReplyDeleteAEEEE PORRA
