There's been a few interesting developments from Rockman X DiVE in the last few days. The Weapon Design Competition voting process ended and the development team teased some fun things via social media. Let's recap them all after the break!
First, the Weapon Design Competition ended on January 21st and the development team began to review the entries. On February 7th through the 10th, the first three winning designs (which will end up in the game) will be announced. Seven merit prizes will also be announced via the Official Facebook Page and Twitter account.
In the image above, we have organized the entries by number of votes. It's worth noting that, according to the development team, the numbers of winners could increase or decrease. Here's what the competition rules say:
"The actual number of winners will be determined by official judgement according to the quality of the creations; if necessary, the quota of winners may be increased or decreased."
They also mentioned on Facebook that when it comes to selecting the winners, they will consider "number of votes, integrity and 'developability".
Also, via the Official Rockman X DiVE Facebook Page and Twitter account, the development team shared the following image on January 19th:
They ask, "Do you wanna see RiCO wear casual clothes like this?". The response has been predominantly positive. Even if RiCO is not a playable character (yet) it seems like most people would at least like to see her wearing different outfits in the menus of the game.
On January 22nd, the development team posted another image featuring three acrylic stands: X, RiCO and Zero. The image was accompanied by the following text: "Here comes whole new merchandise! Which one do you want the most?". We can only assume that acrylic stands will be sold to fans and that more character will be produced.
And finally, yesterday, they shared a small story via the image above. The development team traveled to Japan to have a meeting at Capcom's headquarters in Osaka. "What X will bring us? Let's stay tuned!". We don't know what was discussed in that meeting, but they certainly want to generate some expectations. Perhaps the meeting was about finalizing the launch plans? Your guess is as good as mine, but we have at last entered it's release window of Q1 2020!
So that's all for now when it comes to Rockman X DiVE. What do you think about the designs submitted? And RiCO's "casual clothes"? Do you plan on buying some of the acrylic stands whenever they come out? Let us know in the comments!
Just give us Switch version
ReplyDeleteI think a PC version would be better. most could play it on their laptops, and you wouldn't have to pay extra to play online.
DeleteFree to play games don't require paid(bad) online on Switch. Fortinite, Paladins and Warframe are big examples.
DeleteSorry but the hype has died a Lil bit for me. They keep posting updates and competition. But what will it do if players already moved on to other games.
ReplyDeleteWow, and they say "I" am the one with A.D.D. The internet has let me follow along things like this in a way I never would've thought possible as a kid, especially for the brief few months for the Legends 3 Dev Room in spite of the fact that I was more of a fan for Classic, X, and Battle Network series. True, life may end up getting in the way of following everything at once, but I find I will still be interested much longer than in the days when Starfox 2 was going to be a thing.
DeleteI'd want to see Zero in casual clothes. imagine how funny that would be?
ReplyDeleteOr Vile, even.
Vile would be funnier because he's not a fan favorite, so not many people try to draw him in plainclothes.
Delete@Tiny Proto, there's also how serious and edgy Vile is, that would just make it hilarious to see him in casual clothes.
DeleteYup, that's a big part of it that I sorta blanked out on mentioning. It's funny because of how edgy he is, and not a lot of people like him so there's not a lot of it out there already. With how much people love Zero and X, there's a boatload of that already.
DeleteAnswers:I wanted the double sides Saber to win. Casual Clothes look okay. And no I won't buy acrylic stands.
ReplyDeleteRico is such an un-Mega Man Mega Man character, even her name feels off.
ReplyDeleteThe weapons are alright but none of them really draw or stand out to me.
If i recall the interview of Keisuke Mizuno, they gave him a few elements to incorporate into Rico's design. The goal was probably to create a popular mascot character, but this ended up making her looks more generic moe-anime like, and also a bit different from other MMX design who don't really incorporate thoses type of elements (even though there have been cute characters in Mega Man before).
DeleteI in my (own and personal, yours might differ) opinion, they should have just kept the instruction at "make her cute", and let Mizuno come up with the design on his own.
I'd say both "make her cute" and consider the design elements that make other navigators fit in the MMX universe.
DeleteSadly still not sold on a mobile game. It just feels like any other mindless progression game on the mobile market, which is different from the main appeal of the series.
ReplyDeleteMy answers would be, i don't mind seeing Rico in casual clothes though i don't particularly want it. Would be interested in seeing other characters in clothes, though. Acrylic stands? i don't know, if they're cheaps, sure why not. I'd definitely buy Keychain, though.
ReplyDeleteThe designs were cool. I'll be fine with any of them winning, since I didn't had any favorites.
ReplyDeleteRiCO's casual clothes look nice. It would be fun to see her (and other characters) in different kind of outfits.
If the acrylic stands are sold with international shipping, the answer would be yes. If not, I would have to just look at them from afar.
