Mysterious Keisuke Mizuno "Zero and Zero" Artwork Teased
Mega Man series producer Kazuhiro Tsuchiya and Rockman Unity are teasing a rough piece of artwork designed by Keisuke Mizuno featuring Zero (Mega Man X series) and Zero (Zero series) striking a valiant pose.
Both Tsuchiya and Rockman Unity aren't saying what the piece is for, though. On Twitter, Tsuchiya told fans to "please wait for details from the official community!" and Ucchy says "where the finished version will be released will be revealed at a later date!" In other words, we don't know what this will be used for.
So, we've got some speculating to do. The layout of the "Z" insignia in the center is pretty similar to the design on the Mega Man Zero/ZX Legacy Collection. It could very well be related to that. There's also the possability this will appear on merchandise – a print, wallpapers, acrylic stands. We don't have too much information to go by right now, unfortunately. What do you think?

I'd certainly pay up for a physical poster of the finished product.
ReplyDeleteI think it will be to anounce MMZ Zero for X dive.
ReplyDeleteWhatever the case, i'm going to need a poster of the completed version.
Best case scenario? I game that bridges the X series with the Zero series!
ReplyDelete*cough* worst case scenario *cough*
DeleteI thought they were already directly bridged...
DeleteThe Elf Wars happened, thus X goes to Zero.
You mean you want a game of the bridge instead of backstory or flavor text.
Rockman X: Elf Wars. Calling it now. Gonna also have time travel elements to keep the X series alive and create a different continuity.
ReplyDeleteThey shoul really not include time travel, that's the best way to turn a continuity into a mess, with the effect of making it hard for any potential new players to get into the medium (like for superhero comicboobs that have been going for a long time).
DeleteIf such a game is made, they can just establish that it's event chronologically takes place after any potential future MMX games (like the Elf Wars is curently established to).
Otherwise, many people seems interested in it, so it might be a interesting possibility, even though i'm personally fine with the great war remaining in backstory.
A manga?
ReplyDeletePerhaps a Kotobukiya model 2 pack?
Some kind of merchandise?
Although it would be freakin sweat if the reason Zero/ZX Collection was delayed is they are adding an option to re-skin Zero as classic Zero... That will never happen but one can dream...
Sweat? I think you mean sweet. LOL. :)
DeleteI bet on "Mega man X collection 1,2 + zero/zx collection" box with an art book and some other goodies
ReplyDeleteSweet art for a cool character.
ReplyDeleteCould it be a different skin for Zero in the Zero series for the Zero/ZX Collection? I mean, maybe they would allow you to play as original Zero on Megaman Zero.
ReplyDeleteOf course, some people would say there would be a clash between sprites style, but this did not stop Capcom from making X Challenge. And this would be a lazy addition anyway because Capcom has already this "investing little to make more" habit ... By replacing Zero on Z series by 32 bit Zero from X series, they would have to redraw some animations, but a lot of Zero's X Skills use movements similar to X4 - X6 Zero.
Cool artwork!! I'm highly anticipating what this could be for.
ReplyDeleteZero's two appearances does'nt look so different in Mizuno's style. Probably because he already draw a more slender Zero compared to, for exemple, MMX4 or X5 artworks .
ReplyDeleteYeah but MMZ is more often than not depicted with muscle tone in his own style here he just has those MMZ1 twigs.
