Rockman X DiVE on Track to Launch This Year
Following Kazuhiro Tsuchiya's statement at the end of September saying " it may take a while for the game to officially launch" some fans speculated that the game may not be launching this year. However, today via Capcom's Q2 FY2019 Financial Results, we have confirmation that the game is indeed launching this year as originally was announced in the reveal trailer:
We are pretty much two months away from the end of the year and they still have to conduct an Open Beta and of course launch the game itself. That said, we can expect regular news about Rockman X DiVE to resume soon after a relatively calm period following the end of the Closed Beta in August.
And speaking of Rockman X DiVE, the development team opened up a new Facebook page called "Rockman X DiVE – Derivative Work Group". Here, fans can post their fan-creations and, by the look of things, the development team will choose a topic from time-to-time to inspire fan creations. It's something to look forward to if you're the creative type!

The Live-Action Mega Man Movie Isn't Dead Yet, It Seems
Back in August we reported (via Variety) that the Mega Man live-action movie could have been shelved following Disney's acquisition of 21st Century Fox as a number of Fox-related films were reportedly cancelled mid-development. However, according to Capcom's latest financial results, the franchise is still poised for a live-action film adaptation.
Here is the relevant statement regarding expanded brand-awareness:
"... to generate synergy with its popular games via greater global brand awareness and value, the Company has been producing world-leading content, with brands such as Street Fighter and Resident Evil being made into Hollywood movies, now followed by Monster Hunter and Mega Man, which are also scheduled for live-action film adaptation."At this time, it remains to be seen if this is the same project that was intended to be produced by Masi Oka and written and directed by Henry Joost and Ariel Schulman. What's more, there's no indication of Disney is involved or if Capcom are shopping the film around to different studios/distributors.
More news on this subject as it comes!

Mega Man Zero/ZX Legacy Collection: Special Interview with Toru Nakayama
Via the Rockman Unity blog, we have the rare chance to read an interview with Zero series character designer and illustrator Toru Nakayama. More recently, Nakayama was the character designer for Inti Creates' Dragon Marked for Death. He returned to the Zeries to create the boxart (and other goodies) for the Mega Man Zero/ZX Legacy Collection, as well.
Grab a cup of coffee because this is a lengthy interview, albeit with some information you may not have heard before. Nevertheless there's some very interesting information to be found!

Rockman X and Elemental Story Crossover Event Announced
Dragalia Lost won't be the only mobile game crossing over with our blue boy. A Rockman X-themed event is reportedly coming soon to Elemental Story; a relatively popular match-three RPG for iOS and Android.
Although details are few and far between at the moment, the contents of the event will officially be revealed on Friday, October 25th during a special Elemental Story broadcast on YouTube. The crossover event itself will begin on October 31st.
And yeah; that's all there is to say on this topic for now. An announcement of an announcement is one way to do things, I suppose. At least we know X, himself, will be a part of the festivities.

Mega Man: Fully Charged Season 1 Officially Headed to YouTube (Update)
UPDATE: For one reason or another, the videos have got "private". Sooo... yeah. We'll see what happens.
It looks like Mega Man: Fully Charged is, at last, freeing itself from the shackles of Cartoon Network. As of a couple weeks ago, full-length episodes of the show have begun appearing on the official Mega Man: Fully Charged YouTube channel. They've posted six episodes so far with more to come each weekend. They're region free, too! Check em out:
- Episode 27 & Episode 28 – A Guided Cage | To Air is Robot
- Episode 29 & Episode 30 – Watt's Happening?! | Chill Out, Bruh
- Episode 31 & Episode 32 – Big Bad Dreams | License to Drill
It beats me why they've chosen to not start at episode 1. But, hey, at least we're starting somewhere. By putting Fully Charged on YouTube, WildBrain (formerly DHX Media) are giving the show a chance at finding a larger audience. Fully Charged suffered a fate that's all too common on Cartoon Network: they schedule a non-CN Studios show at a "dead" timeslot, choose not to advertise it, then "gate" it behind cable-subscriber-only VOD and on-demand services. Today, though, we can all watch it.
If you haven't seen an episode of Fully Charged, well, it sounds like this is the way to go.

An Almost Perfect Model Kit: Kotobukiya X Video Reviews
Released back on August 28th, the one and only Maverick Hunter X marks the beginning of Kotobukiya's new Rockman X model kit line. With the Max Armor coming in December, Zero coming in the near future, and a fourth model kit to be revealed in early February, 2020, the excitement among fans and collectors is palpable! But how did the first kit turn out?
A few "figure-model kit"-centric YouTubers already got their hands on the X kit and published their reviews and even a live build of it online. All of them agree that it's a high quality kit, but it's no without flaws. It reportedly takes a long time to build (2-3 hours), there's too many seamlines, and some parts may fall apart when posing. It sounds like the shoulder joint in particular is a little problematic. But overall, this is a top-notch kit.
In case you want to check out other reviews besides the one at the top of this article, you might want to look at Dstar01 and Eugene42181 reviews.
Did you buy X a little ways back? Give us you opinion in the comments!

Exclusive: Mega Man Universe's Unreleased Soundtrack + Unseen Robot Master Art
With a bit of help from "a certain cat", I've managed to secure a handful of never-publicly-released materials from Mega Man Universe – Capcom's ill-fated Mega Man 2-inspired "Mega Man Maker" project that was axed in early 2011. My findings will be released gradually over time... but today, I'm happy to kick things off with a real treat.
For your consideration, we present to you Mega Man Universe's unreleased soundtrack (MP3 only) AND previously unseen official artwork of every MMU-style Mega Man 2 Robot Master! (illustrated by none other than Kimo Kimo). Hit the jump below and treat yourself!

Dimension Studios Zero Model Kit Features an Inner Skeletal Frame
As anticipated, Dimension Studios' upcoming Rockman Zero series Zero model kit made an appearance today at the "China International Comic Festival". Though it was only a prototype, much of the kit's key features were already in place.
First and perhaps most significant is confirmation that the kit features an inner skeletal frame, pictured on the left. Anyone who's put together some of the more complicated mecha kits out there will tell you just how important inner frame parts can be. Simply put, they're designed to make the fully-assembled figure more articulate. It's a skeleton in every sense of the word. I don't believe we've seen this feature on any previous Rockman kit before.
The kit will also include a Z-Saber and Z-Knuckle. The fingers of the Z-Knuckle are not articulate, meaning that the Z-Knuckle is an optional, interchangeable part. That alone gives us an idea how articulate the fully-assembled figure will be (i.e not too much).
Unfortunately, we're still in the dark about the kit's release date, price and availability. The China International Comic Festival runs for a few more days, though. Perhaps we'll here something by the weekend. Stay tuned!

Mega Man x Dragalia Lost Further Details Revealed
More details have surfaced regarding the upcoming Mega Man event in Nintendo's Dragalia Lost which was announced last week. Details were provided by the game's director Yuji Okada on the latest Dragalia Lost newsletter along with the first piece of artwork for the event as seen above. Information regarding the Mega Man crossover event itself can be found below:
"The Mega Man event is scheduled to occur at the end of November.
In it, you'll be able to add Mega Man to your team as a temporary adventurer. You can increase your friendship with him by clearing quests with him on your team. If your friendship with him reaches a certain level, he'll remain your ally even after the event ends. The way Mega Man moves and attacks is based on his own games. Even the animations for when he takes damage or when his HP reaches 0 are call backs to his series! We'll have more to share about his skills and shapeshifting capabilities in future notices, but trust me when I say, they will be... distinctly ... "Mega Man" ...You'll join Mega Man in fighting against the Greatwyrms, who will have special behavior for this event. But why the Greatwyrms? Well, a certain someone has come to the world of the Dragalia Lost...But we're not spilling those beans yet! You'll just have to look forward to the event to find out exactly who this is.You'll also be able to get event-specific items, wyrmprints and weapons. They'll also be event specific music!November's This Month in Dragalia Lost will have more information on this, so keep an eye out for it."
"a certain someone" - I think it's safe to say that could probably be Wily, don't you think? Also having event specific music could possibly give us some new remixes! Only time will tell! Looks like we'll have to wait until the next newsletter towards the end of the month before we get more details on the event but, rest assured, we'll report any new details as they arise!
Will you be playing the event this November?
