Rockman X Giga Mission Translation Project: The Manga
Released earlier this past August, the Rockman X Giga Mission set from Bandai comes with a binder, 24 carddass collectible cards, and a booklet featuring a 10-page manga illustrated by Yoshihiro Iwamoto. The story of Giga Mission is set between the events of Rockman X5 and Rockman X6 following the crash of the Eurasia colony on Earth.
Today, we bring you the English translation of the Giga Mission manga thanks to the collaborative effort of Digi148 (scans), Maverick Hunter K (translation) [visit his YouTube channel!] and yours truly, Reploid 21XX (cleaning and typesetting). Without further delay, enjoy the manga after the break!
Eh...interesting? It looks more like a fan-fiction, to be honest. It's not that its bad, its just...weird.
ReplyDeleteThe guy that appears in the panel where X is using his charged shot is iX in his last form? I recall something about Mega Mission, more cards and a new form for him, but I don't remember something else posted here.
Thanks for all of the effort guys.
It is iX, and he's in his Grow form from the Mega Mission 4 box set. His last form is Doppler iX, which doesn't have any official images, but is spoken of in again, Mega Mission 4. Grow iX's design has been posted here elsewhere.
DeleteAh, thanks. I remember the post with the anouncement, it's just that no other post regarding Mega Mission 4 was made, like a sinopsis of the story or the artwork. Or not that I remember.
DeletePisses me off how the Megamission series ended up so... open ended. We didn't even get to see how Doppler iX looked like, how iX actually was defeated or why X finds that event to be "saddening". What the hell happened?
DeleteAlso, can check the spanish version here https://mangasrockmantraducidos.blogspot.com/
ReplyDeleteThat was incredibly hard to follow
ReplyDeleteWhy?.
DeleteI thought I was the only one. Lol sorry but I think the dialogs are too baby talks.
DeleteI feel like the art is a little busy so it's hard to follow what's going on, but I've had that problem with a lot of manga and comics. Might just be me.
DeleteDon't like how all the illustrations are cluttered together it's confusing, otherwise, that's a good alternate line for X series. Tho I know it will never become a videogame.
ReplyDeleteDoesn't really seem to have much context attached to it. Just suddenly X is fighting these new people that came out of nowhere and we have no idea why this is happening or what's at stake. Just more villains who histrionically proclaim what they're doing is for evolution. But I guess Iwamoto only had so many pages to work with?
ReplyDeleteIts a mini comic, the full story is on the cards. This is sorta like the one that came along side Mega Mission 4, which wasn't even tied to the story, but was Iwamoto's take on the final battle of X5.
DeleteJust awesome!!!
ReplyDeleteThe decision to mention Isoc's name, when the original Japanese did not, seems like an odd liberty taken. Since X is not supposed to know who Isoc is in X6, I'd say the vagueness was intentional.
ReplyDeleteThank you for your input. Talked with the translator and he indeed took that liberty because he thought calling him "that great man" sounded odd, he didn't realize of the implications story-wise. I will fix it in the coming days.
DeleteAlso, Nichts isn't female. Nichts has too many male face features to be a female.
DeleteThanks for the change, Reploid21XX. Although it seems a mention on page4 may have been missed.
Delete@Anon: It's not that Nichts is female. He just formed from the body of a female Reploid after Extreme analyzed Zero's data in the Z-saber.
Yeah something went from with the upload, should be fixed now. Thanks.
DeleteMeh.
ReplyDeleteuh good show nightmare police lol
