Mega Man: The Power Battle is one of 16 arcade games included in the Capcom Home Arcade system, Capcom announced. The Capcom Home Arcade plugs directly into your TV and features high quality sticks and buttons, built-in WiFi for leaderboards, and HDMI output. You can find a list of all the games included here.
This is the first port of Mega Man: The Power Battle in roughly 15 years. It was last included in 2004's Mega Man Anniversary Collection for the PlayStation 2, GameCube and Xbox. Its sequel, Mega Man 2: The Power Fighters, is MIA from this particular unit.
The Capcom Home Arcade is set to launch on October 25th for £199.99/€229.99/$250. More info here!
Who the hell would buy this?
ReplyDeletearcade fans, collectors, etc. Really they are not aiming for general audiences, it is a very niche product.
Deletejust get pandora box for less money and more games including all games capcom made for arcade.
DeleteIt would be nice if they also put out a collection on existing systems as well with all these games.
ReplyDeleteBringing back Aliens vs. Predator is wild.
Would buy as a collectible item, it’s very nice looking! But definitely more excited about it being hacked after it’s out lol.
ReplyDeleteYeah, it's cool, but if you just want Megaman, it'd be cheaper to just get a PS2 and MMAC
DeleteI hear ya! And totally agree in terms of what’s more cost efficient. It just looks so darn nice and would make a great officially licensed display piece you can bring down and have some fun with. If it wasn’t for those Sanwa parts I’m sure it would of been at a fraction of that cost... yikes! lol
DeleteWhat, no Power Fighters? Also, that's way too expensive for a set of ROMs.
ReplyDeleteIt's those Sanwa parts most likely.
DeleteShouldn't even be selling this since it is running on literal FBA emulator and roms.

DeleteThis thing is an overpriced joke. You'd have to be crazy to actually want it.
ReplyDeleteKudos to them for not having only one version of Street Fighter II, unlike certain other company's arcade repros.
ReplyDeleteQuestion: Power Battle is the CPS-1 or CPS-2 version? I'm assuming CPS-1, since that had a wider release (to my understanding).
I can't say I would recommend this to even a wealthy collector.
ReplyDeleteThat is one fugly arcade stick, nice game list though except do we really need another release of Street Fighter II? How about one of the Alpha games instead or even Street Fighter III? The price is definitely a bit much for what is included.
ReplyDeleteI hope Capcom also releases a CPSP version.
ReplyDelete*If* it comes out. There's some controversy right now that the emulator being used has been poached by Capcom against its license.
ReplyDeleteTo be honest I would have rather had these games on a compilation for pc, ps4, xb1, switch. I was kinda disappointed that it wasn't.
ReplyDeleteLooks pretty exciting, they’ve got some really neat arcade games at...
ReplyDelete$250...
I think I’ll pass.
