Pachislot Rockman Ability Character Renders Revealed

More Pachislot Rockman Ability news continues to drip out with the unveiling of three character renders. From left to right we have Rock (aka Rockman), Roll, and Trancy. The latter is a brand-new character created specifically for Pachislot Rockman Ability. She is one of many original characters created exclusively for the game.

For the uninitiated, Pachislot Rockman is, well, a Rockman-themed pachislot game. It's being developed by Spiky and is expected to launch in Japan later in September. The game isn't based on any particular Rockman; rather, it's set in its own, pachinko-inspired universe.

You can read up on previous Pachislot Rockman Ability coverage coverage here, here, and here. More news on this front soon!

Extended Mega Man: Fully Charged "Drilling Deep" Preview

Another day, another Fully Charged preview. This clip comes from the episode "Drilling Deep". You've seen pieces of this one before, but now you get to see what happens after Mega Man faces Drill Man. Copying Robot Master abilities looks like it has its fair share of side effects...

Official Mega Man: Fully Charged Character Profiles

Here's a bit of a Rockman Corner exclusive for you. A little while ago I received a nice packet of official Mega Man: Fully Charged character profiles and art. While I can't share the artwork at this time, I do have permission to drop a few character profiles on ya. So today we're only looking at Mega Man, the members of the Light family, and Sergeant Night. Sorry; I gotta leave you with some surprises!

More Mega Man: Fully Charged "Throwing Shade" Clips

Ahead of Mega Man: Fully Charged's premiere on the Cartoon Network app later this week (Friday, August 3rd), the official Cartoon Network YouTube channel posted two new previews from the show's first and second episode ("Throwing Shade" part 1 and 2). Check out the first clip above and the second after the break below!

Mega Man 11 Full Blast Man Stage Gameplay + Torch Man Challenge Mode

Archived footage last week's Capcom TV Mega Man 11 segment has surfaced thanks to KiraSSG. Here, we get to see a complete run of Blast Man's stage including the boss fight. Jumping ahead to the 12:20 mark, we get our first look at Challenge Mode. Only one challenge is available in this particular build: a time trial fight against Torch Man.

Also worth pointing out, at the 7:13 mark, the player earns a bronze trophy for triggering Shock Guard. This is an optional part available to purchase from Dr. Lights lab that protects Mega Man from spikes.

Roll Caskett 4Inch-Nel Figure Reappears at Wonder Fest

Sentinel's 4Inch-Nel Roll Caskett figure hasn't been seen since February. But look! She's back – and in color!

Another Look at Nendoroid X and His Little Ride Armor

Good Smile's Mega Man X Nendoroid has appeared once again and this time he brought a friend. As seen at Wonder Festival, here's the final colorized figure... AND a Ride Armor!

Mega Man: Fully Charged Episode 3 Part 1 Preview

Another day, another Mega Man: Fully Charged clip. This preview comes from the episode "Drilling Deep Part 1". (unblocked version here: https://youtu.be/W_ueQcxGvTs)

In this clip, we get to see a little bit of Aki before he transforms into Mega Man to take on a raging Drill Man. Apparently, Drill Man used to be a musician – he was "born with music in his heart". His father, however, forced him into the family business, mining, and replaced his hands with drills.

Stay tuned for more Mega Man: Fully Charged clips soon!

Pachislot Rockman Ability Robot Master Names Confirmed

Leaked promotional material from the upcoming Rockman pachislot game, Rockman Ability, has revealed the names of four Robot Masters. From left to right, top to bottom, we have Coin Woman, Blues (not a Robot Master but confirmation that he's definitely in the game), Lever Man, Choice Man, Reversi Man, and Replay Man.

Weird names, right? I thought so too for a hot minute. But if you read them over again, it sounds like each Robot Master corresponds with a pachislot/slot machine gameplay mechanic. From what little gameplay we've seen, though, landing on one of these characters doesn't appear to affect the player's roll all that much. There's a whole lot we don't know about Rockman Ability still.

Pachislot Rockman Ability is expected to launch in Japan this September. Check past coverage here, here, and here.

Can't see the video? Unblocked version here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XhI1jGzqTp8

All in all, a fun little clip. Mega Man: Fully Charged premieres on the official Cartoon Network app and various on-demand streaming platforms on Friday, August 3rd. Episodes will air on Cartoon Network weekly every Sunday beginning at 6:30 a.m. ET/PT starting August 5th.

More Rockman 11 Voice Actors Announced

We already know that Ayaka Fukuhara is voicing Rockman in Rockman 11 and Tasuku Hatanaka is playing Blast Man. But what about the other characters? By way of Inside Games, here's a few more cast announcements: Hideyuki Umezu is Dr. Wily, Yuka Iguchi is Roll, and Nobuo Tobita is Dr. Light AND Auto.

Any of these names ring a bell? Hit up the links above and check out their profiles on Anime News Network. You might just learn something.

Still no word on whose voicing who in the English version. We do have some pretty good guesses, though. Going by the general consensus, Ben Diskin is Mega Man and Keith Silverstein is Dr. Wily. Listening to the pre-order date trailer again, yeah; it really does sound like them. Nicely done, keen-eared peeps.

Mega Man: Fully Charged Behind-the-Scenes Footage

Clips from last week's Mega Man: Fully Charged Comic-Con panel have surfaced online thanks to the folks at Gamer Splash. The panel featured a behind-the-scenes look at the show's production; specifically, the animation and sound design process.

The clip above highlights the "live action style" camera devised by Fully Charged's creative team. It gives the show a live, movie-like sense of action. The scene depicts Mega Man facing off against Fully Charged's primary antagonist – a robot who might just be Sargent Night himself.

To see the rest of the clips, hit up Gamer Splash or watch them after the jump below!

Mega Man X1Mega Man X8 Soundtracks Released on Steam

To commemorate the release of Mega Man X Legacy Collection 1+2, Capcom just dropped all eight Mega Man X soundtracks on Steam. Additionally, the new tunes composed and rearranged exclusively for Legacy Collection 1+2 are available to download, too. Each album includes AAC, FLAC, and MP3 files.

Mega Man X Legacy Collection 1+2 Review (Nintendo Switch)

Mega Man X Legacy Collection 1 and Mega Man X Legacy Collection 2 are here. Culling together all eight mainline X series adventures between two collections, Mega Man X Legacy Collection 1 (X1-X4) and 2 (X5-X8) feature solid emulation, a healthy batch of extra content, and a rather intrepid challenge mode for long-time veterans.

Alright. I'm not gonna be around the bush – Mega Man X Legacy Collection 1+2 is a great way to experience the X series from start to finish. However, there are *some* things that I think you might want to know about before you jump in. Let's break it down!

Two More Images from Pachislot Rockman Ability

By way of King__Gulf, here's two additional images from Pachislot Rockman Ability. These are considered "leaked" promotional materials because the machine – despite being announced last week – has yet to be shown publicly.

Not much else is known about the game at this time other than its A) pachislot and B) it's got our blue boy in it.

Pachislot Rockman Ability is due to hit Japan in September.

New Images of Sentinel Rockman 30th Anniversary 4Inch-Nel Figure

New images of Sentinel's "CollaboRockman" 4Inch-Nel have appeared via Amazon Japan. First announced in February, this figure is a crossover between Rockman and Sentinel's own mascot, Super Robot God Sentinel, to celebrate Rockman's 30th anniversary and Sentinel's 10th anniversary. It is tentatively set to ship on October 31st, 2018 for 6,480 yen (roughly $60 US).

Pre-orders are currently being accept through Amazon Japan with other retailers to follow suit shortly. A limited "Rockman Unity Edition" will be available exclusively through Gentinel. It includes special Rockman postcards, postage stamps, and, best of all, an alternate Rockman 4Inch-Nel head piece based on Ucchy-san's likeness (the curator and mascot of Rockman Unity). Oh my god.

Both the standard edition figure and the Rockman Unity version will be sold in limited quantities. The Rockman Unity Edition is for Japan only, I'm afraid. We'll keep an eye out for standard edition availability! Thanks to Vhyper1985 for the tip!

Rockman X2 Sample Version Released

The third and final prototype I'm releasing this month is a sample version of Rockman X2. (You can find the previous X3 prototypes here and here)

There are a number of differences going on here: different graphics, different level layouts, audio differences, text differences, debug controls, glitches, and other changes are present. One neat difference I'd like to point out is the Irregular select screen has the "X" icon with DATA written beneath it, just like in the Rockman X2 manual. The grey tower is also labeled as "I.H", indicating that this building is, and always has been, Irregular Hunter HQ. Neat! Check out the TCRF page here for more differences.

Mega Man X: Mega Mission Announced by UDON Entertainment

Previously unpublished in English, Hitoshi Ariga's Mega Man X: Mega Mission is *finally* headed stateside courtesy of UDON Entertainment. The publisher announced at SDCC '18 that the first full-color, 48-page issue arrives in January, 2019.

Mega Mission was originally published in Hitoshi Ariga's Rockman Remix manga compilation in 1996. The story is an adaptation of the Mega Mission trading cards by Bandai, which chronicles a unique storyline that took place between Mega Man X2 and Mega Man X3. If you want to brush up on the cards' storyline before January, check out Number 20's coverage here.

As previously reported, Comic-Con attendees can get their hands exclusive, signed Mega Man: Fully Charged prints by artist Jose Emroca Flores (Booth #4722). No images were available at the time, but James went ahead posted a couple previews to his Instagram page. Check 'em out above! And yes; I can confirm everything you see is gonna be in the show. Though stylized here, these are indeed the final Robot Master designs (Mega Mini, too).

Both prints are available from James' website during SDCC for a limited time, too. You can purchase "Mega Man Jumper" here and "Mega Man Rush Moto" here. Both prints are 18x24 printed on heavy watercolor paper.

More Fully Charged news soon. Stay tuned.

Rockman Ability Announced – Pachislot Machine for Japan

A Rockman pachislot game has been rumored for years and today it's come to fruition. Developed by Spiky (their site is a little on the NSFW-side), Rockman Ability is a pachislot machine that's slated to release this September exclusively in Japan.

Although that's the gist of the announcement, an individual under the name G3_777 – who is largely associated with amusement games  – managed to find and post some artwork from the game on Twitter. One of the images is above; the other can be seen here or after the jump below.

Mega Man 11 Blast Man Stage Gameplay

Shown on Capcom TV this morning, here's our very first look at Blast Man's stage in action. We do not get to see the actually fight with Blast Man, though. The Capcom TV crew takes us right up to the mid-boss. Still, it's lookin' good!

Mega Man: Fully Charged Airs on August 5th on Cartoon Network

Mega Man: Fully Charged is starting sooner than we thought. DHX Media and Cartoon Network have announced an August 5th premiere date for the brand-new series (a time slot has yet to be announced). What's more, clips and previews will be posted a weekly basis on an upcoming Mega Man: Fully Charged-dedicated YouTube channel.

Mega Man X Legacy Collection Album Teases "X's Fight is Not Yet Over"

Copies of the physical Mega Man X Legacy Collection 1+2 soundtrack are popping up in Japan early, and there's a little something interesting hiding in the booklet. The last panel in the game story summary page, right next to Mega Man X8, is the following message: "The story of X's fight is not yet over."

That's the super literal translation, at least. And you know what? It sounds vaguely familiar to a certain message to fans in an old, pre-Mega Man 9 20th anniversary book: "The legend is not yet complete..."

I'm a little divided on what, if anything, this could mean. On one hand it could very well imply there is a future for the Mega Man X series – Mega Man X9 or otherwise. But on the other hand, X's fight technically never ended after X8. Perhaps it's an in-universe reference to the events of the Elf Wars, the Zero and ZX series? It's a little too early to say, maybe. We can speculate, of course. That's always fun.

Mega Man X Legacy Collection 1+2 Trophies Revealed

Mega Man X Legacy Collection 1+2 is launching soon (July 24th), and the PlayStation 4 Trophies have been revealed. You can find Legacy Collection 1's Trophies here and Legacy Collection 2's here. Each collection has 1 Platinum, 1 Gold, 13 Silver, and 38 Bronze to earn. That's 53 Trophies per collection.

By the by, there's a few interesting descriptions that are worth checking out. This Trophy, "Another Day, Another Recon"/"Reconnaissance Complete" implies there's a secret image hidden in the art gallery. We all know what happened the last time Capcom threw one of those in, yeah? And who knows what's going on with these, "Identity Erased/"Defrag Complete". The description reads, "Blast through the mystery of the staff credits and return to the future." This could be interesting.

Also, we have confirmation that the secret Cut Man fight in Mega Man X8 remains intact. You earn the achievement "DLN.003" when you beat him. The conditions to unlock the fight aren't know at this time, but it's likely a button combination. I'll look for it in my review.

Mega Man X Legacy Collection 1+2 is due on July 24th on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC, and Nintendo Switch. Thanks, Reploid21XX!

Rockman X3 Prototype (September 25th, 1995) Released

The second of three Mega Man X series prototypes I'm dropping this month is here. Tonight we've got another sample version of Rockman X3. The build date on this one is September 25th, 1995 – that's three months before the game hit retail (December 1st, 1995). It's the least interesting of the three prototypes I'm tossing up (find out what next week's is after the jump) but nevertheless it's an important piece of X3's development history.

Rockman 11 Production Note Book Details

New details on the Rockman 11 production note (a booklet bundled with the Japanese Limited and Complete Edition sets) have been released. The B5-sized, hardcover 64-page book will include the following contents:

    • Original cover art by Yuji Isharaha
    • Rockman 11 Story summary
    • Character relationship chart & character size comparison table
    • Character introduction/biographies
    • Boss characters introduction/biographies
    • Special effects breakdown
    • Iconography gallery (icons, menu graphics, etc.)
    • Unused characters and settings
    • Art direction
    • Tribute artwork
    • Eguchi's "master room" (tips and tricks?)
    • Ucchy-san x Producer dialogue (interview between Rockman Unity's Ucchy and Kazuhiro Tsuchiya)
    • "Development Playroom"
    • History of Rockman
While some of the contents sound a little vague at the moment, it really sounds like there's a lot of neat stuff packed into this little book! Bit of a shame we're not getting it stateside – not at this time, at least. Maybe this is something UDON will bring over in the future?

For now, the Production Note is only available by purchasing the Rockman 11 Limited Edition or Complete Edition sets. Both sets are still available from E-Capcom, though they do not ship internationally. Play Asia, Amazon Japan and the like had some stock a few weeks back... but they're sold out. I'd regularly keep tabs on those places if I were you. You never know when a fresh batch will come in.

Mega Man 11's Composer is Marika Suzuki

During the fifth episode of Capcom Japan's "Making of" Mega Man 11 video series (a separate story on that coming up), it was revealed that Marika Suzuki will be scoring Mega Man 11. Suzuki has previously composed the soundtracks to Mega Man Star Force 2 and various games within the Dead Rising and Monster Hunter franchise, among other Capcom properties.

Marika Suzuki involvement was previously hinted at back in December. Game Informer staff were told that the composer would be someone who worked on the Star Force series – Akari Kaida, Yoshino Aoki, Mitsuhiko Takano, or Marika Suzuki. Lo and behold, Suzuki it is.

I've enjoyed all of the Mega Man 11 pieces I've heard so far; it's great to know who to finally thank! I can't wait to hear more!

      Thanks for the tip, PP500!

      Rockman X3 Prototype (August 9, 1995) Released

I've got three Mega Man X series prototypes to release this month, and I'm kicking things off with an early Mega Man X3 sample version. This build is dated August 9th, 1995. It's two weeks younger than the previously released August 23rd build and, as such, it includes even more differences.

First Look at the Mega Man X Nendoroid

First announced at the beginning of this year, here's our very first look at Good Smile's Mega Man X Nendoroid figure. Though its only a prototype, our little Maverick Hunter here is looking sharp! Hopefully we'll have more news on a release date and accessories soon.

Ayaka Fukuhara is Voicing Rockman in Rockman 11

Confirmed by the official PlayStation blog and 4Gamer, Japanese voice actor Ayaka Fukuhara is the new voice behind Rockman in Rockman 11. Fukuhara is known for her various roles in anime – Rin Shibuya in The Idolmaster Cinderella Girls and Grea in Rage of Bahamut: Manaria Friends, to name a few – and Najd in King of Fighters XIV. You can hear her rendition of Rockman in the previously released Rockman 11 story trailer.

Additionally, Tasuku Hatanaka has been announced as the voice actor for Blast Man. He is known for his work on Yu-Gi-Oh! Zexal as Yuma, My Hero Academia (Denki Kaminari), and Kabaneri of the Iron Fortress (Ikoma).

At the time of this writing, the English voice cast for Mega Man 11 has yet to be announced. We do have some ideas who is who but nothing's official yet. More news on this front soon!

Here's Mega Man X8 Running in Mega Man X Legacy Collection 2

Direct feed gameplay of the Mega Man X Legacy Collection 2 version of Mega Man X8 was featured on Capcom TV today. The game's visuals are indeed rendering at a higher resolution – things are sharp, colorful, and just overall nice to look at. What's more, load times are essentially non-existent. I don't think it's a stretch to say we might be looking at the best version of X8 yet.

Mega Man X Legacy Collection 2 (and Legacy Collection 1) launch on July 24th for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.

And More Mega Man X Legacy Collection 1+2 Soundtrack Samples

Capcom Japan uploaded a new batch of Mega Man X Legacy Collection 1+2 soundtrack samples to their YouTube channel. It includes a few twists on some old favorites and new tracks made exclusively for Legacy Collection 1+2. Listen to 'em above and check out the past samples here.

The standalone Mega Man X Legacy Collection 1+2 CD soundtrack is due out on July 13th. Pre-orders are now available through CDJapan and Play Asia.

Even More Blast Man Stage Details + Score Attack and Jump Saver Mode

Hot on the heels of this morning's announcements, Capcom updated the official Mega Man 11 website with additional details and screenshots.

First up is a closer look at Blast Man's stage. The descriptions reads: "Blast Man's stage is filled with explosions of all sorts!Trip the wrong sensor and you'll get blown away. Some traps also destroy platforms, putting you at risk of getting stranded, or worse!" There's a few new screenshots here, including the return of Sniper Armor!

Second, we have additional details on Blast Man's weapon, "Chain Blast". "Blast Man's sticky bombs latch onto enemies and detonate! Connect multiple bombs for bigger blasts or fire them off and wait for them to blow up!" Additional Chain Blast screenshots here.

And finally, two new modes have been revealed: Score Attack and Jump Saver Mode. In Score Attack, your job is to defeat enemies and collect points as fast as you can. You'll earn more points by defeating multiple enemies at the same. Jump Saver Mode's description is a little vague. It says, "This mode features a jump counter in the upper-right corner. Don't waste those jumps!" It's unknown if that means you'll start out with a limited number of jumps or if you can jump as much as you want BUT the goal is to use as few as possible. These challenges plus Time Attack and Balloon Attack mode can be accessed from the Special Menu (look at that; a Gallery mode, too!).

More details on that front soon, I'm sure. Head to the official website and Game Watch for more screenshots!

Blast Man Revealed for Mega Man 11 + Time Attack and Balloon Attack Mode Details

Capcom brings us a triple-dose of Mega Man 11 news today with details on a brand-new Robot Master, Blast Man, and a sneak peek at Time Attack and Balloon Attack modes. Hit the jump for all the details!

The backside of the package will feature Mega Man-themed puzzles, activities, and games. One box will set you back $7.99.

Bit of a cute novelty, no? I'm not the biggest Funko fan (I'm really not) but this is something I might toss into the 'ol Mega Man collection.
