Hot on the heels of today's big Mega Man 11 news, Capcom have also announced a brand-new Mega Man amiibo and a special edition for Nintendo Switch.
Mega Man 11: Amiibo Edition will ship with a copy of the game, stickers, an adhesive patch, microfiber cloth (with all of the Robot Masters on it), and the new Mega Man amiibo! On the flip-side, the Japanese version will come with a guide book and poster. Now, it's still unconfirmed but early listings seem to indicate this is a GameStop exclusive in the US. It is not available to pre-order yet but I imagine it's coming really soon. UPDATE: It's live on GameStop!
As for the amiibo itself, there's no details on what it actually does. For now, though, you can check out some additional images after the jump. It looks great!
No word on a Euro release? I’m super hyped but I’d like to have physical copies of these games.
ReplyDeleteSame for me.
DeleteAlso, they really should make a physical release if they ever want Megaman to become big in Europe.
If it's only from gamestop I'll pass on it and just buy the amiibo on ebay.
ReplyDeleteI'm calling it now. There will be an amiibo for each sub series, and each one will unlock a new costume for Mega Man 11 (we already saw Star Force.) Still doesn't explain what this one does.
ReplyDeleteKinda wish North America was getting the poster instead of stickers, oh well.
ReplyDeleteNice to see all robot masters ^^
ReplyDeleteThanks Protodude! Thanks to your post I was able to snag a couple!
ReplyDeleteI need this in my life
ReplyDeleteThanks from me too! I was able to get one after I saw this post.
ReplyDeleteI'd almost rather pay scalper prices than order from gamestop
ReplyDeleteI Don't get it... The Amiibo Edition comes with the full game, the amiibo, the bonus inserts... what's the catch, Capcom? Do I have to pay to download the Robot Master weapons? Is the ending DLC?
ReplyDeleteNo way you deliver a satisfactory product for the Nintendo Switch without some crippling "monkey's paw" flaw.
The catch is that it costs as much as two copies of the game.
DeleteWhatever its functionality, the standard Smash Bros amiibo will probably work the same.
ReplyDeleteI bet the amiibo unlocks the piano tracks that you get as a pre order bonus on the ps4/xbox
ReplyDeleteThat sounds right.
DeleteThem scalpers got to that gamestop version quick didnt they lol.
ReplyDeleteThankfully it was still available to order in Japan, and a poster sounds a heck of a lot better than a fiber clothe anyhow. Can't wait!
Idk, with the switch I usually always have a cloth or two in the carrying case for the screen. So, it’s definitely more practical. I’m happy legacy collection came with one too.
DeleteUgh ebgames is so hard to preorder from. Website is garbage, they don't even have a listing yet. Ebgames is Canada's GameStop, same company.
ReplyDeleteSOld out already?
ReplyDeletePre-orders are back up on Gamestop.com.
ReplyDeleteYes. I guess they were overloaded. Keep trying.
DeleteThis sucks, it doesnt allow me to make a preorder, it gave an error message. Even with PayPal. Gametop sucks!
ReplyDeleteYesterday was total chaos because most of yesterday they had the wrong pricing on the app and mobile site. It was saying $49.99 while the desktop PC site had $59.99. I had canceled my order to try and get it for the $49.99 price but by that time when at checkout it was switching to the $59.99 price and it was sold out by then... Or it could be that they were fixing the problem with the pricing... Because today the preorder came back up only it was at the $59.99 for the app and mobile site this time. Was anyone able to get it for $49.99? Or did Gamestop cancel everyone's order?
ReplyDeletethey sold out i had the same prob
ReplyDeleteI hope the amiibo has a function in the game. Btw does this pre-order also include the soundtrack?
