To commemorate Mega Man's 30th anniversary, UltimateMaverickX rolled out his very first fan-game: Rockman Xover Reborn. Inspired by the now-defunct mobile game, Rockman Xover Reborn should feel familiar to those who played the classic or X series games. In other words, it's nothing like the real Xover.
There are a couple hiccups and glitches, which are expected at this stage. The controls are different, to say the least. The setup is unusual but not impossible to master. You can play the game in your browser here. Beat it once to unlock a fun little surprise!
In his free time, UltimateMaverickX is hoping to add more content to the game – additional stages, bosses and armors. We'll be keeping an ear out for sure! In the meantime, head to UltimateMaverickX's DeviantArt for more details.
If they made an Xover 2 in either this style pr a stylized 3D, I think I'd be more interested in it. The MMX iPhone graphics in the original were just really crummy looking.
ReplyDeleteNice! Good job!
ReplyDeleteI liked the chara design and ost of the game, the problem was the gameplay, i could try this fangame!
Boy howdy, does that ever look and feel like a Flash game. Yikes.
ReplyDeleteThis is awesome although the only nitpick I have is that the sprites are a bit big. Other then that I really think this could go somewhere. Now if he can remake Mega Man 9 that would be cool too.
ReplyDeleteWow, I can't believe people are pointing out that 2 boss attacks are impossible to dodge. It made them look the boss is unfair. Every attack is dodgeable! I feel like they just played the game once and that's it, they did'nt even bother figuring out how to dodge the boss's boulder push attack. You just jump on it when the boss is about to push. The Overdrive attack is fun. Hard but not unfair.
ReplyDeleteIt's probably the same crowd that ridicules MN9. Instant gratification and their failures simply must be the game and not their own shortcomings.
DeleteOh look. Its this again where we say people who don't like what I like must just be bad at the game or trolling. I wasn't aware I slipped back into the time before MN9 came out. Welp.
DeleteThe missing is when he defeat the boss. He didnt received the power and transform like Rockman X series.
ReplyDeleteI hope he preserves elements of the story. It was dull, but the only relevant thing nonetheless.
ReplyDeleteI'm going to try it again once I map my controller to it. Then the controls will be less confusing.
ReplyDeleteultimatemaverickx is the only person who could make me click on a video with "Rockman Xover" in the title. BTW, have you seen this dude? http://ニンテンドースイッチ速報.com/chat/i-suggest-the-latest-development-of-lock-man-11-director-mega-man-legends-and-megaman-exe-a-new-work-flag/
ReplyDeleteYep http://www.rockman-corner.com/2017/12/capcom-talks-about-mega-man-s-future.html
DeleteUltimatemaverickX never cease to impress me.
ReplyDeleteOver-1 and Ground Scarab should be the only characters in this flash game, just so ultimatemaverickx can see Mega Man fantards whine there's no one else in the game. XD
ReplyDeleteAgreed, should add BBA too for the spice!
DeleteEstá ficando muito bom o remake! Parabéns UltimateMaverickX
ReplyDeleteYes, Rockman Xover Reborn is awesome, wonderful and impressive. It's obvious Rockman Xover Reborn was made as the flash game inspired by the now-defunct mobile game, Rockman Xover. This game was made by UltimateMaverickX, its deviant.
