A new promo image for next year's
Mega Man cartoon has surfaced online. It's not much but it's something to chew on until the next big info dump.
According to the image,
Mega Man will have a presence at
MIPCOM, an annual tradeshow in Cannes beginning October 16th. What's more, the image further confirms the show's planned 52x11' format (52 episode, 11-minutes each). This suggests the program will follow a two-episodes-per-show format when it airs on Cartoon Network next year.
And that's about all that can be said for now. Maybe we'll learn more by MIPCOM?

11 min episodes... so no real story development I assume
ReplyDeleteWhy not?
Delete11 minutes is actually standard for cartoon network these days, even for story driven shows like adventure time or steven universe. i wouldn't worry about the length
Deletenot interested.
ReplyDeleteDammit, oh well, I guess cancelling games is a lot easier than shows.
ReplyDeleteAdventure Time fallows this format and it has a rich story, so have some faith guys. I'm going in with an open mind.
ReplyDeleteEh, it's not for everyone. Mega Man's design still bugs me out and the Mega Mini thing is dumb; I have a hard time believing they researched the series beyond the Dreamwave series while playing Tron in the background.
DeleteI like how it looks
ReplyDeleteWill skip it after check it out soon. America is getting weird and weird and never learn anything from Japan animation. Japan animation is the best ever I have seen like Naruto, Dragon Ball Super, Boruto, and many many more. Beautiful animation drawing. This is ... SUCKS!
ReplyDeleteI hate to say this, but I really don't think Naruto is the pinnacle of animation.
DeleteUsing DBS and Naruto as examples of beautiful anime? Seriously dude?
DeleteSorry, but most anime after like 2008 ish are pretty terrible, & I grew up loving anime before even the big "anime boom". Far to many after that point are far far too silly with very little seriousness too them. Shame that, that's what's become the popular thing. And for the animation stuff, Japan is wicked lazy too with more modern anime. So many backgrounds are so heavily computerized rather than looking like someone actually drew it for a cartoon.
Deleteokay dragon ball super looks like it's drawn by an 8 year old so.....i mean if you wanna talk about good animation try one punch man also there are plenty of american shows with good animation the new castlevania show on netflix volton, legend of korra, young justice, the boondocks season 2-4 Steven universe like anime is great but don't knock on american cartoons
DeleteGood lord you people are naming some crap as "good animation to represent anime and western cartoons"
DeleteDragon Ball Super? Korra?
Maybe you guys are talking about art or character and general design... Even then tho.
Either way strictly talking animation wise old school animation>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>new recent animation.
Also if we are not just comparing TV shows I think overall western animation is the better of the two, design is another thing and more subjective.
You're 10 years old, aren't you?
DeleteWeeb toast
DeleteDragon Ball Super's had fine animation for a while now? I'll admit it's not still super well-animated consistently, but for a show with as shitty production time and weekly airing as it has, it looks perfectly fine with some astounding highlights. Unfortunate to see most people haven't moved past the stigma the show has had based on a episode that aired two years ago with only three weeks of animation.
DeleteWill admit though, American cartoons have unfortunately run into a corporate rut in comparison to the lively work by classic animators in products like the original Looney Tunes.
CGI Mega Man huh. Well I wouldn't agree that Dragon Ball Super is the pinnacle of anime but it has it's moments. What ever happened to anime ? What we really need is a Mega Man anime. Maybe CAPCOM needs to learn from The Legendary Dragon Ball Z anime. Now DBZ could fit the description of the pinnacle of animation but that me. A long time DBZ fan. Also I agree with you Tiny Proto Man the whole "Mega Mini" shtick is stupid.
Deletejodeme D:
ReplyDeleteWith everything going on from the Legacy Collection to the upcoming Mastermix Comics I think Capcom is just testing the waters to see if they can get the Blue Bomber back on his feet, now about my thoughts on the cartoon at this point are mixed, the animation look pretty good, Megaman's design has improved and I'm pretty interested in seeing where their taking this, but at the same time the 11 min format, CGI animation and Mega Time catchphrase has got worried about how this will turn out, right now all we can do is sit down, wait and hope for the best.
ReplyDeleteHis design was already perfect.
Delete"Mega Time" puts my mind in the gutter. >.>
DeleteI think he meant the cartoon version improved from the original artwork that was shown.
Deleteyep, still looks like garbage to nobody's surprise
ReplyDeleteIf you could actually see a plane crash a year in advance, it would look like this.
ReplyDeletewill not watch, do not want.
ReplyDeleteThis crappy design irks me just like every other time. I looks so bad now it sort of trying to mix a adult face with a youthful face and its just looks bad.
ReplyDeleteLegitimately this is the worse kind of "revival" we could have gotten along with the premise for this just being well dumb. Ill give it a shot with 2 or 3 episodes expecting nothing and will likely drop.
Just looks couldnt they have choose a BETTER design out of everything they could have possibly done?
Whatever it may be it cannot possibly be worse than the cartoon from the 80s. One episode made me die a little and feel ashamed I've got it on DVD. :/
ReplyDeleteI'd rather they just make a more serious version of the Ruby-Spears series, but I'm biased. With all the material out now, I don't understand how they ended up going for Dreamwave with superficial elements of Battle Network.
DeleteWhy dont you guys email them as photo above and tell them why it is horrible and we are disappointment in them ? LET THEM KNOW!
ReplyDeleteLike they are going to listen to a bunch of internet nerds that have the bad-mouth anything and everything that's slightly different from their own personal taste. Watch until the show actually starts then either you take it or leave it.
DeleteSlightly? Come on, now you're just being intellectually dishonest.
DeleteI think if they're this far along and still going with what they have, there's no point in saying anything.
DeleteWhy the heck with 11 minutes???? They did this with Sonic Boom and I hated it. Most people want a full 22 minute episode. I'm sure kids would want this as well... It's totally stupid. Plus with the 4-5 minutes worth of commercials you'll barely see anything...
ReplyDeleteI am so not looking forward to this. I mean, don't get me wrong, i love me some megaman, but changing the traditional concept of a household robot who had the courage to fight for everlasting peace into a Ben 10 wannabe who can turn into a hero and goes to school, it just rubs me the wrong way. But hey, at least is not like the horrible Ruby Spears series, with Mega Man looking like a generic He-Man figure with a stupid non-existant plot.
ReplyDeleteHey, to each his own. I totally get people not liking the Ruby-Spears series but I also think "xyz PLUS SCHOOL" is overdone.
DeleteIs just that even if its made by Man of Action the promo reminds me more of the worst that has been made with Ben 10
