thats a really good list, though it is missing Chrono Trigger
ReplyDeleteAgreed, if this had Chrono Trigger, it would be absolutely perfect.
Deleteand Mega Man 7
ReplyDeleteI don't know why, but the fact that they're releasing Star Fox 2 on this thing makes me absolutely livid. But, I won't get into it here.
ReplyDeleteIt's nice to see Mega Man X on there. Kind of odd that Mega Man 7 isn't, though... but I imagine that's because Mega Man Legacy Collection 2 is on its way. Can't really complain about the selection of games, otherwise. Those are more-or-less ones I'd pick, despite my diverse tastes.
Corretion: I was livid... at first. But! If the version of Star Fox 2 is the Winter CES '95 version with its rogue-light elements, vastly superior galaxy map and text interface and whatnot... I will be ecstatic!
DeleteBut, I'm also not holding my breath on that one...
A very good collection of the best of the best, but I must agree that not having Chrono Trigger is a crime against the gaming gods. XD
ReplyDeletei'm not into theses collectible, so i'll pass (also, the Snes is still on my parent's home basement), but this look neat and have a very nice selection of games.
ReplyDelete>Star Fox 2
ReplyDeleteWAIT
WHAT
As much as I love Megaman X I've played it so much I would have hoped for X 2 and/or 3
ReplyDeleteAs much as I love Mega Man X, I have to say... I'm not nearly as interested in that game's inclusion as I am in Star Fox 2 finally seeing the light of day. That, along with the first Star Fox finally getting a re-release.
ReplyDeleteThey could of easily added a few more to make 30 games! Arkanoid, Chrono Trigger, DKC2 2, DKC 3, Final Fantasy 2, MegaMan X2, MegaMan X3, Super Bomberman 2, & Tetris Attack just for an example :/
ReplyDeleteWill this one run carts tho?
ReplyDeleteI already knew that. This purple console!!! Never forgot it when I had one. UGH! I will be getting PAL VERSION then!
ReplyDeleteThe US version is too good looking! Love the Grey, Purple, & Lavander!
DeleteIt's clearly Urple and Light Urple.
DeleteI look forward to seeing the SF2 ROM getting dumped and seeing exactly what is different in this version(if at all). Also, seeing what games the emulator supports. Maybe not X2 and X3. Maybe a real Multitap will work with this and SoM will be playable with 3 people.
DeleteI hope it can use cartridges, because if it can't like the NES classic, I'll pass.
ReplyDelete(Sees Star Fox 2)
...
Well... may be worth for a new pair of controllers?
As much as I love Mega Man X, I'm more interested in the addition of the Super FX titles, especially Star Fox 2. I am, however, looking forward to seeing this get modded, just like the NES Classic Edition. That way, other games can be added, maybe even Rockman & Forte.
ReplyDeleteGot a preorder in for it on the Amazon uk site. The listing was taken off now...
ReplyDeleteSame. It's worth it considering this will probably be in short supply in the U.S.
DeleteI'm upset about the lack of games like Donkey Kong Country 2, Demon's Crest, Breath of Fire 2, Super Bomberman, and especially Chrono Trigger, but MMX is my favourite game of all time so I'm glad kiddos will get a chance to experience it, along with FF6, Earthbound, Yoshi's Island, Super Castlevania 4, Kirby Super Star, LttP, and SMRPG.
ReplyDelete...Whoops. I didn't think my comment would appear twice. Then again, I did say something slightly different the second time.
ReplyDeleteFor everyone wishing Nintendo would have put more games on it,you do realize that you will probably be able to easily mod it to put whatever games on it that you like, right?
ReplyDeleteSo, I checked the list of games that the Japanese version will have, and once again, the U.S. doesn't get a re-release of Panel de Pon in any fashion; not even as Tetris Attack. Why does this game keep getting ignored so much? It's a similar situation with the first Contra/Probotector for the NES.
ReplyDeleteWell frankly, the Japanese version is getting the short end of the stick imo, Mystical Ninja is cool and should be in all versions imo, but no Super Castlevania IV is a huge pile of suck. And I'd take Super Punch-Out and Kirby's Dream Course over Super Soccer and Tetris Attack any day of the week.
ReplyDeleteOn the bright side, the lesser offering should make the Japanese version easier to get than the others.
I literally just came here from a video discussing the differences between the two, and... no.
ReplyDeleteIt may be a remake, but I'd hardly consider it the same game anymore.
They even broke several of the mechanics, most notably: the deku jumping.
Now, okay. You're entitled to your wrong opinion (lol) but I'll still stick with the original, thank you.

"The Super Nintendo era was such a great time to grow up in the former United States of America. The early 90's was a great time to be a kid!
ReplyDeleteIt really surprises me how 16-bit game design has not caught on like the over used retro 8-bit has. I was hoping games would start to graduate to the 16-bit era of nostalgia but it has not. Hopefully soon!"

I actually 1st played a mega man game on this, it was my favorite
