Mighty Gunvolt Burst Now Available on Nintendo 3DS

Today, Nintendo 3DS owners can get their mitts on Mighty Gunvolt Burst. The game will run you a cool $9.99. The 3DS versions is, from my understanding, exactly the same as the Switch version with no compromises. You can check out some gameplay here.

I absolutely adored Burst on Nintendo Switch –– so much so I may even pick it up twice! Be sure to check out my review if you're on the fence.

Footage of Mega Man 4's Lost Mid-Boss Unearthed

First seen in a 1991 issue of Electronic Gaming Monthly, actual footage of the unused sphinx mid-boss from Mega Man 4 has been discovered! You can see it rises to the surface at the 4:13 mark in the above video.

Bits and pieces of the sphinx's remains have been found in the retail version of Mega Man 4, but this is our first time seeing the thing in action. It's never been specified why it was cut from the game, though seeing it now I wonder if it was too difficult to beat. Presumably, players were to jump on top of the boulder to shoot the snake on the sphinx's head. However, Mega Man himself has very little room to maneuver. Unused sprite data provides credence to the theory as the boulder was decreased in size later in development. Ultimately the entire boss was cut.

This footage comes to us from Robert Hoskin, who filmed it in May '91 with EGM staffers Ken Williams and Edward Semrad. I suggest you keep watching after the sphinx's appearance; there's lots of other Mega Man 4 beta elements to see!

Thanks to NintenCade360 for the tip!

Mighty Gunvolt Burst Review - It's Mighty Good

I thought I would be playing Arms today. I thought my gaming free time would be spent on Nintendo's latest hit. I was wrong, though. Mighty Gunvolt Burst - this little thing from Inti Creates - is eating up Arms' share.

Mighty Gunvolt Burst Now Available on Nintendo Switch

Grab your Nintendo Switch; Inti Creates' Might Gunvolt Burst is primed and ready to download! The game sees the return of Mighty No. 9's Beck teaming up with Gunvolt for a new, retro-infused adventure. I'll have a review up later this weekend, but I will say finishing off enemies at point-blank range - literally shooting things in the face - is all too satisfying. The game will cost you a cool $9.99.

If you're a Nintendo 3DS owner, Mighty Gunvolt Burst drops on Thursday, June 29th. Look forward to it!

Mighty No. 9 3DS & Vita Versions Due This Year; Physical Rewards Shipping Soon

It's been a long, long time coming but we finally have an official progress update on the Nintendo 3DS and Vita versions of Mighty No. 9 plus what's new on the physical backer rewards front. You can read the letter that was sent out to backers after the jump, but the gist of it is 3DS/Vita versions are due sometime this year and physical backer rewards will ship in a couple weeks. Or so they say.

Oh, No. They're Making a Mega Man Hoverboard

The title of this post says it all. Spotted at E3, an officially-licensed Mega Man hoverboard is on the way from Interworks USA. It's expected to ship in October.

Not much else to say on the subject other than state the obvious: why doesn't it look like Rush Jet or Item-2?

Mega Man X & Iron Man Marvel vs. Capcom Infinite 2-Pack Revealed

UPDATE: Better images added. See more after the jump! Thanks, SethHay!

It's not the best picture (and I'm sure there's more to come) but he's our first look at Habsro's Marvel vs Capcom Infinite Mega Man X and Iron Man figure 2-pack. The image comes from Capcom's E3 booth where various upcoming merchandise and goods are on display.

According to information available, the set will be released in August - a month before the game - as a Target exclusive. X and Iron Man look to stand somewhere between 3.75 to 4-inches. Each figure comes with one accessory, X's being a Buster effect part.

Keiji Inafune's Comcept Acquired by Level-5

Keiji Inafune's Comcept, the studio behind Mighty No. 9 and Red Ash, has been acquired by Level-5 (Professor Layton, Yo-Kai Watch, etc.), according to this week's Famitsu. Rechristened as "Level-5 Comcept", the new subsidiary will work directly with Level-5 president Akihiro Hino to develop new games, combining the philosophies of both companies.

Keiji Inafune says Comcept - in its current form - will close down. However, the company will continue its responsibility to develop a title currently in production (not specified but presumably Red Ash). Their first game as Level-5 Comcept is scheduled to debut in 2018, a mobile RPG called Dragon Colonies. The game will feature player vs. player gameplay set in a world with various races and gigantic beasts.

Unfortunately, there's no word on what will become of the Mighty No. 9 franchise. It remains to be seen what will happen with the unreleased 3DS and Vita versions, too, not to mention missing physical backer rewards. I imagine we'll be hearing more on this acquisition soon. I'll keep you posted.

X Talks and Zero Appears in New Marvel vs. Capcom Infinite Trailer (Updated)

Straight from Sony's E3 presser, here's a brand-new trailer for Marvel vs. Capcom Infinite. The most significant bit for us? X talks! And look who he's talking to - it's Zero! Ready to face off against X and Rocket, Zero's imposing demeanor seems to suggest he's under the influence of Ultron Sigma.

Mega Man Legacy Collection 2 Gameplay and Additional Details

Capcom TV played an hour or so of Mega Man Legacy Collection 2 (Rockman Classics Collection 2) this morning on stream (15:16 mark). We get a pretty good look at MM7 and MM8, menus and Museum Mode. Overall the games look as good as you remember - however, there is some subtle motion blur going on. I believe it's due to the quality of the stream, not MMLC2 itself. As you'll see, the subsequent Monster Hunter gameplay is just as blurry.

That aside, some additional details were discussed on stream, too. You'll find those points - and a couple more observations - after the jump!

Rockman Classics Collection 2 Limited Edition Detailed

Mega Man Legacy Collection 2's Japanese counterpart, Rockman Classics Collection 2, will receive a limited edition release via E-Capcom. The package includes the game, five alternate cover jackets (the fifth one is a secret, apparently), a Rockman thermos, and a printed Robot Master weakness cheat-sheet. Pre-orders are available now.

Further, Rockman Unity announced the distribution of other RCC2 goods from posters and lithographs to clear file folders. On a significant note, pre-ording the game from Amazon Japan warrants two exclusive PS4 themes.

At this time, it remains to be seen if any of these limited goods will make the jump to North America or Europe. The alternate covers, cheat sheet and themes would be greatly appreciated, I'm sure. More details as they come!

Earlier this year the folks at Great Eastern Entertainment blessed this earth with a smug-as-hell plush Proto Man ball. Today they're throwing one more into the mix: Mega Man himself. It's so dumb it's cute.

This little guy just popped up on GEE's product page labeled "coming soon." GEE's Mega Man goods can typically be bought both online and in-store. Be on the lookout!
