Mega Man Mobile Update Adds Boss Rush Mode

It's not the update we were hoping for but it's "new content" nonetheless: All six Mega Man Mobile games have been updated with a new Boss Rush Mode.

It's nothing fancy: you'll face a gauntlet of Robot Masters in random order, one after the next. You have all your Special Weapons at the ready and each time you defeat a Robot Master, you'll get some Weapon Energy. Once all eight (or six) Robot Masters are defeated, the marathon repeats with little to no Weapon Energy drops. Rinse, repeat. Once you die your final score is ranked on a top 5 leader board.

Not much else to say than that. The update is live on iOS and Android now.

  1. Wh-what's with this game footage? It's... it's fast and (sorta) fluid...!!

Is this what the game runs like in Turbo Mode?

    1. Yeah, a whole 20 fps. Incredible right?

    2. Well I mean, I upload videos at 20 FPS all the time since that usually allows flicker to display correctly. But what I mean is that the game seems to be running at full speed (compared to the NES game), even if it's skipping 2-out-of-3 frames. I can appreciate that.

    3. Eh, I played MM1 with Turbo on and it still seemed to stutter constantly between 15-20fps. Maybe the Boss Rush update upped the FPS a bit or locked it? Even so, still not really worth it for me at least. It's hard for me to focus on the screen when the frame rate is always under 30.

  2. I want to like these games. It's just so convenient to have them on mobile. I just wish more effort had been put into porting the NES versions instead of the older mobile titles.

I know that I can just emulate them, but it's not the same as an official mobile release, tailored to Mega Man. Why do these suck so bad? Why Capcom?

    1. Why port the nes versions when they can work on newer games, how many times are we going to see ports of the same game over and over? There has been so many 8 bit games since Megaman 9 and 10 was released along time ago, its getting ridiculous. What capcom needs to do is wake up and start listening to fans and make a very good Megaman game, something original.

When you look back at these awesome retro games, like Super Mario, The Legend of Zelda, Metal Gear, Ninja Gaiden, every single one of these games have evolved from their 8 bit retro style gameplay and transending to a much higher level of gaming, with amazing graphics, original ideas, a totally different gameplay experience, etc. Meanhile Megaman games are still trapped in the 8 bit zone and is not getting the full attention it deserves, especially to new comers, this is the year 2017, and there is absolutely no changes done to the Megaman series, come on Capcom, what are you waiting for?
