After eight long years, Mega Man 2.5D is now a fully playable game. No more teaser trailers, no more demos. This is it. Download it here!
For the uninitiated, Mega Man 2.5D is exactly what it sounds like: classic NES action on a 2D/3D plane. Play it solo or team up with a buddy for a fully-fledged co-op mode. This is the co-op Mega Man game you've always dreamed of... and then some!
A huge congratulations to Peter Sjostrand and his team on a successful launch. Mega Man 2.5D has been a long time coming, but I know it's been worth the wait. Enjoy, everyone!
Awesome, im gonna try it ! :D
ReplyDeleteOh... my word... That trailer alone sold me on this game. It's funny to think I can remember way back when this was just a little fan animation, too...
ReplyDeletethis pretty much
DeleteChanged my mind about this game. I have my reasons and won't get into them here.
DeleteYou're welcome.
(And no, it's not because of RushJet1's involvement. Smart-asses.)
Downloading... :D
ReplyDeleteThis looks amazing!! Downloading now :D
ReplyDeleteOh that is sex my god.
ReplyDeleteDownloaded ad doe will be playing for the rest of the evening
My anti-virus software recognized this as a trojan.
ReplyDeleteSo what you're saying is that this is in reality a Battle Network game?
DeleteTrojan is only in one Battle Network and is conspicuous, clever joke failed.
DeleteTo be fair, Mega Man 2.5D apparently does trigger a "safety debugger" in older versions of Windows which prevents you from running some other programs until a reboot... but I couldn't tell you how to turn it back off.
DeleteIf there actually was a Trojan virus in a BN game, then I'd say my clever joke succeeded even better than I had expected it to. :3
DeleteIf you count the smartphone restricted Legends of Network a BN game I guess.
DeleteThis is great news.
ReplyDeleteI actually thought that game was lost in development hell.
That Flauclaws cameo though.
ReplyDeleteThis
DeleteI can't get it to run on my Windows 8.1 PC, just crashes when running the EXE....maybe another computer will have better results.
ReplyDeleteedit: NM, their FAQ has some troubleshooting steps (installed the frameworks fixed it for me):
ReplyDelete2. Install the XNA Framework (xnafx40_redist.msi) and .NET Framework (NDP462-KB3151802-Web.exe) located in the redist folder (only included in the installer free version).
3. Try uninstalling .NET Framework (Control Panel - Programs and Features - Look for Microsoft .NET Framework and choose uninstall) and then try reinstalling it again.
4. Delete the MM25DConfig.xml file located in the root of the game folder.
5. Edit the MM25DConfig.xml file in the root of the game folder and change falsetrue</FullScreen.
6. Add an exception for MM25DGame.exe in your antivirus software or disable it completely.
I rather for them to make a new fan game with brand new robot masters... Not repeating robot masters with 2.5 D. Nah. I will skip it. Thanks.
ReplyDelete"For the uninitiated, Mega Man 2.D is exactly what it sounds like:"
ReplyDeleteYou mean 2.5D... Do I smell a typo? Or is 2.D intentional?
Love the reference to X4's opening at the end of the trailer. Will be downloading this later for sure.
ReplyDeleteWeaknesses don't even make sense in this game...
ReplyDeleteThe weakness order should have been:
Time (as Time Stopper) > Quick (as Needle Cannon) > Snake (as Plug Ball) > Tornado (As Top Spin) > Shadow (as Hornet Chaser, kinda) > Splash (as Water Wave because both are from a Water RM) > Star (?) > Pharaoh (?) > Time.
But nope, confusing players is a good idea.
Fun fact: Quickman doesn't have a weapon weakness. His weakness is the buster (3 damage) and everything else, as far as I can tell does 1 damage (except for maybe Charged Pharaoh Shot?).
DeleteAs for the weaknesses? Time Slow could have been used for either Quickman or Pharaohman (remember Flash Stopper?), but inversely, Laser Trident could be used as a Thunder Beam stand-in or a Plug Ball stand-in, being an electric blade weapon. So really, the weakness order could have gone something like...
Tornadoman, who blows out the fire of... >
Pharaohman, who burns brighter than/out-shines... >
Starman, who shields on all sides against... >
Snakeman, whose creepy snake scare... >
Splashwoman, who zaps and shorts-out... >
Timeman, who damages the precision systems of... >
Quickman, whose boomerangs slash like blades at... >
Shadowman, whose blades cut through the wind of... >
But, that's just what I was able to come up with on a whim based on existing boss data.
v1.0.1 has been released! It addresses some major bugs (like being unable to slide while half-stepping) as well as a bunch of minor ones.
DeleteI feel happy to have made a difference~
Thanks!
DeleteI just played the game and its awesome. Now I'm just waiting for MMX Corrupted.
ReplyDeleteKeep the faith, my brother. Some day. Some day...
