Official Rockman X Novelization Announced
Ahead of Rockman X's 25th anniversary, a novelization of the series has been announced. The book is being produced by Japanese publisher PHP Institute, written by Tsubasa Todoroki, and illustrated by none other than Rockman X manga artist Yoshiro Iwamoto. It is tentatively scheduled to release in Japan on January 26th, 2017.
Presently, it remains unclear just how much of the X series will be covered in the book. Iwamoto and Todoroki promise forthcoming details shortly. What's more, there's no word on availability outside of Japan. Importing is always an option, but there's little assurance the book will be available in English at this time. I'll keep you posted nonetheless.

So the novel take pieces between the games, or is a novelization of the game events?
ReplyDeleteWe don't know yet.
DeleteWHAAAAT!!!?? I would read this! This sounds so cool! I want!
ReplyDeleteX is getting lots of love nowadays, I bet it will only cover the first game.
ReplyDeleteIm interested, even if my english can be broken, i can understand easily and i have google translate in case.... :p
ReplyDeleteSo cool to see X back in a project, even if it's not a game, there was not a lot of things for him recently....
Nice!
I don't find any info about Todoroki, darn, I hope it gonna be cool, tough.
ReplyDeleteBecause I play mega man x for the story /s
ReplyDeleteYou're not funny, just so you know.
DeleteBut he is right. Except for X1 the story is pretty vestigial.
DeleteNo he isn't. The manga and MHX both attempted to expand it and did a pretty good job of it.
DeleteIs this the first time the megaman framchise will get a novel?
ReplyDeleteJapanese novel? Maybe. Because we have an american novel.
DeleteThis is nice and all, but can we please get a new game?
ReplyDeleteSighing.. No games ? Sighing again!
ReplyDeleteHopefully it's translated to English, if the website promo is any indication.
ReplyDeletedon't know about this author... is he a megaman fan?
ReplyDeleteif no, they'll have to have him carefully play the games tough and trough to get things right.
if yes, they'll have to check to make sure the guy don't just go and write it like a fanfiction.
hope it'll be good and get translated at least in english. maybe in France (i'm french), i see more megaman stuff heading her, recently
A novel is nice and all, but hopefully this is a sign of more things to come.
ReplyDeleteGod if this even turns on half as good as some light novels it will be worthwhile buying
ReplyDeleteIf it's released in English (which I'm sure will happen since UDON released a Street Fighter novel recently), I will definitely buy, even if I hate Iwamoto's art.
ReplyDeleteHey it'd be cool if it does well enough to get an Anime adaptation. Let's hope for that lol
ReplyDeleteAn X novelization would be pretty boss. I'd love to read about the stage bosses having more personality like Iwamoto did for the manga. I wonder if the writer will use the manga interpretations of them, or come up with their own.
