Rockman EXE Artist Teases Something for 15th Anniversary
It could be nothing, it could be something. Either way, Rockman EXE manga author and illustrator Ryo Takamisaki recently posted the above image on his promotional Twitter account. It's a teaser for something set to be shown in March (likely the 21st), just in time for Rockman EXE's 15th anniversary in Japan. Eagle-eyed fans will note the silhouettes of Rockman.EXE himself and Forte*.
That's all we have to go by for now. I'm wagering this is an anniversary-related one-shot, which seems like something Takamisaki would do. Then again, who can say. It's entirely up for speculation.
These next couple months are big for EXE. There's an anniversary event, new merchandise, and even a reprint of Rockman EXE Official Complete Works. It's an exciting (and hopeful) time to be an EXE/Battle Network fan. You'd be wise to keep your expectations in check, though.

(*fun observation: Forte's helmet fins are unusually angular for Takamisaki's typical style.)
unless it's a game, i'm not interested
ReplyDeleteI would love a new game for Rockman exe, with new stuff like mmo or others, besides the storyline or not, but i can dream =P
ReplyDeleteIf it's a new manga, it could be cool, i liked a lot the manga, it was pretty violent compared to the anime but still very fun to read and very epic! :)
Please new game
ReplyDeleteIf its a new game, they better integrate those un.exe'd Robot Masters like Crash Man and Hard Man.
DeleteI suggest just keep the excitement down, like seriously the most could happen is an anniversary collection of the Battle Network game just like Megaman Legacy did or a reprint of the Exe Manga by this artist especially the news coming from the Manga Artist not Capcom staff.
ReplyDeleteAlso..I really hate how he draw Forte, Forte potrayal is nice in the Manga but really..the way Forte is drawn really make me think he is some new Megaman enemy.
I preffered the anime version over the manga since seems more sinister along with having a great voice actor it was great. Sadly we never found out what happen to forte in anime nor in manga i think other then becoming a berzerker with hub
DeleteTakamisaki's .EXE manga was great (though the story did occasionally move WAY too fast, with Mega Man sometimes gaining two powerups in the same battle). I highly recommend checking it out if you're even remotely a fan of Battle Network.
ReplyDeleteI never liked EXE series, but I hope it's something nice. For the fandom
ReplyDeleteThis comment was supremely useless. What was the point of that backhanded form of good will?
Delete*I always thought EXE was bleeeeaaaar....... Oh, but I wish its fans the best, tout a` l'heure.*
I, on the other hand, thought your comment was very nice. (y)
DeleteCan't really be excited since I don't have any clue what this is, but I hope it's something great.
ReplyDeleteOnce Again though, I guess Capcom really isn't thinking about Star Force and ZX's upcoming 10th anniversary in the slightest, And I shouldn't expect them to.
Still they were great series that took Mega Man to new places, and I firmly believe they both just showed up at the wrong time, I'll find a way to celebrate the DS generation of Mega Man on my own I guess.
whoa yeah zx is decade old now my god i had forgotten about those games till you mentioned it now. Minus SF which i put a ton of time when they added the online support which made the game so much better
DeleteI never got to play Online PvP in the SF games due to getting into the series late with only the first game, I did play the PvP in that game though with a friend locally and It was a lot of fun.
DeleteI love those games so much though, The writing is surprisingly well done excluding the 2nd game, The music was boss, the gameplay was really fast especially when battling against a ton of the secret bosses and there was just so much freedom within the combat, the atmosphere was incredible. I dunno I played the hell out of that series and ZX which for me improved upon a ton of things the Zero series did.
Star Force and ZX just deserve better.
aHHHH I'm a huge fan of the Star Force games, and (honestly I liked the second, to me the spritework had been smoothed out and looked less dull, and I still liked it-) I really really wish they would do something for it... I mean, 10th anniversaries seem a bit more important than a 15th imo. ZX... well. never played it, to be honest. Though I do know about Ashe's obsession with booty in ZX Advent. ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
DeleteI'm just really divided about MMSF2 I don't hate the game, it did improve upon the original in a couple ways graphics being one, but at the same time it introduced a ton of problems that made it overall less enjoyable than both MMSF and MMSF3
DeleteThe story and writing in SF2 was awful, it simplified and almost went back on everything the first game established, every character was basically reduced to a single trope personified to the max, and the villains felt like cartoon cut-out mustache twirling stereotypes, The story itself also went in a more uncalled for cartoony direction(the Terra Condor part where he planned to tickle Geo's friends to death.) than the 1st game which was surprisingly dark and felt a lot more believable, the space theme of the series was also missing which i wouldn't have minded if the ancient tribe theme was executed well.
Aside from writing issues MMSF2 had an annoyingly high encounter rate, a poorly integrated wave world system, little ways of fast travel, practically no stages, scenarios often recycled real world maps just with a few obstacles or a minigame, plenty of backtracking, and more.
Theres so much wrong with MMSF2 in my opinion, but I can't bring myself to hate it and to be fair it does have a number of redeeming qualities that I didn't mention.
Back on topic though I agree for sure about 10th anniversaries seeming more important than 15th anniversaries but BN is cool and I'm happy they are celebrating it regardless, I just wish they'd do more for SF&ZX.
Note: The booty talk in ZXA is gold.
I bet its not a game but a new manga book then I am not interesting.
ReplyDeleteI assume maybe a manga reprint or something, or some new story otherwise.
ReplyDeletePeople hoping for a game are only going to get sorely disappointed.
Well, we can only hope, can't we ? Not going to get sorely disappointed anyway because we knew its likely not a game anyway. Hope that we are wrong, thought. :)
DeleteWhatever the thing is, I'm going to give it away in a contest sometime, get me down for that, Protodude.
ReplyDeleteMy fake guess is that it's a new TruForce Collectibles figure (or two).
ReplyDeleteI always liked the Battle Network combat. The plots were always beyond goofy, but the actual combat was amazing. I'm not holding my breath, but a new game would be nice.
ReplyDeleteIf it's a game, i could die of crying......of happyness and emotion :') ...
DeleteIm rewatching Rockman EXE stream but with the VOSTFR version....dem memories, a so nice and epic serie...need more :3333 <3
My guess is that's an upcoming D-Arts MegaMan.EXE and Bass.EXE, with the artist working on the package. Wonder how Gospel will fit with Bass. :P
