Rockman EXE 4.5 Hits Japanese Virtual Console Next Week
The leaked eShop listings were indeed on the money. Rockman EXE 4.5: Real Operation is headed to the Japanese Virtual Console next week in Japan, Nintendo announced. The game will be available on Wii U January 13th for 702 Yen.
To accommodate the loss of the Battle Chip Gate accessory, players can press L and R simultaneously at the navigation screen to unlock BCG-excluisve Net Navis. Beyond that the game will play the same as it would without the BCG.
There's little to no chance we'll see this one on our storefront. If you're interested though, various methods do exist to play this one outside Japan like this fantastic translation patch

There's also a hack that lets you play 4.5 just like a regular Battle Network game too, with full control of every playable Navi. It makes the game a lot more fun in my opinion.
ReplyDeleteExcuse me, excuse me, WHAT?! Where is this?!
DeleteLook up "Real battle network" and you should find it.
DeleteThats why Japan rules! USA sucks!
ReplyDeleteWell, I don't know, I mean, it COULD happen, very slim chance, but it could. It wouldn't be the first time a japanese text only game was released on the VC. There's Rondo of Blood, granted its a different genre altogether, but still, it could happen, and if not, that's fine. I'd still pay the cash to download it AND buy a physical copy with the BCG.
ReplyDeleteNo, America released Rondo of Blood but untranslated. That's not a good news anyway. Someone already translated Rondo of Blood in English instead. :)
DeleteNo one cares for 4.5, just release MMX9.
ReplyDeletelol not happening
DeleteI was trolling knowing that fact full well...
DeleteTell Capcom of USA about that. We wants MMX9 and Megaman 11. Perhaps, Megaman Legends 3 resurrection. :)
DeleteHey, what a coincidence I'm playing this game right now. I'm gonna beat it 100%(full HP, all navis BCG included, tournament of darkness) and I'm half way through it. Too bad it has some emulation errors. Like the Gutsman chip crashing the game, Numberman minigame only consists of 2+1 instead of various operations(subtraction, multiplication, division, etc.) and probably more. Oh well, better than nothing.
ReplyDeleteDid you experiment with working roms and emus?
DeleteEmus: Tried both no$gba and visualboy, same errors. All the roms seem to be from the same dump, so I don't know whether the rom is corrupt or if it is the emulators fault.
DeleteAre you talking about translated rom of this game for no$gba and visual boy ? And what versions are they ? Two questions. :)
DeleteOops I accidentally created another thread. The answer to your question is below this comment.
DeleteNope, I'm talking about the untouched japanese rom. In fact, the translation fixes all the errors, so I think it is the dump. The emus are VisualBoyAdvance 1.80-M(SVN 1229) and no$gba 2.7a. Thanks for asking. :)
