Capcom Japan continues to leverage the Rockman IP with more uninspired paraphernalia.
New goods produced by CafeReo are headed to online retailers soon. Keep an eye on Play Asia, NCSX and Hobby Search.

I'm not sure which is worse. No new games ever and tons of merch or no new games ever with nothing. Least the latter isn't adding more salt to the wound.
ReplyDeleteWasn't there a previous 1-Up pillow that was orange, not yellow? That Rockman Classic Collection shirt is pretty cool.
ReplyDeleteSons of bitches
ReplyDeleteSo...
ReplyDeleteAnyone think this stuff would still be coming years later if it wasn't selling? Seems to me that it definitely is.
Sure feels good to be a fan.
ReplyDeleteNot really, people.thought MM games were selling a lot just because they saw them everywhere. Turns out they weren' t dong so hot compared to their competition.
ReplyDeleteI have a hard time believing that. They kept making them because they were profitable.
DeleteProfit earned and units sold aren't the same thing.
No conglomerate wants to just make a profit, they want to make a self sustaining profit.
DeleteWhy make a 1.00$ thing for a 10 cents profit when a big company can make a 500,000$ thing for perhaps 500% return on it (like with the actual case of Monster Hunter).
I agree there is something to be said about opportunity costs.
DeleteBut at the same time, a lot of people have been lamenting the lack of middle budget titles. Games like Mega Man 9 and 10 sold well enough to make Capcom happy. The same unfortunately can't be said for something like Darkstalkers Resurrection.
But I feel Mega Man has the potential to be a much bigger series than it is or really ever has been. Capcom just hasn't really given it a chance over the past going on two console generations. Bionic Commando got a chance. I'd like to see Mega Man get one.
The t-shirts are sort of okay.
