The final issue of Archie Comics' Mega Man, pre-hiatus, will go on sale December 23rd, the publisher announced. It will hit stores physically and digitally the same day.
What's more, Betty and Veronica affirm this is the definitive release date. Sounds like we'll be saying au revoir in just a few weeks!

Just in time for it be swallowed by the holidays and fail to sell well. How fitting.
ReplyDeleteI agree.
DeleteWho in their right minds, at Archie, would think this is a good idea to release something like a comic book on December 23rd?
Then again, this is Archie we're talking about. They could still push this comic's release even farther back. Especially considering how they've tried to handle it.
What a great Christmas gift, the end of the only comic I currently buy.
ReplyDeleteGood to have a final "final" date but it is a bit worrisome to be so close to the holidays. Either way, looking forward to see how the last issue of the year (and last before the hiatus) turns out!
ReplyDeleteThese dudes did a good job. It's the best American-type art you'll get, really, and it's quite good. You can't ask for more than that.
ReplyDeleteYeah but why they got Mega wearing pampers? Other than that, it's alright, it clearly looks off compared to the already off looking Hideki Ishikawa artwork though.
DeleteThe rest are decently close to their source material, same as above though, slightly off, which isn't a big deal tbh.
I've been getting the graphic novel books only (via Amazon), each comes with 4 issues. So far they've released up to Book 8 (#33-36), and Books 9 to 11 (#37-48) are up for pre-order (not to mention they've been delaying those like crazy...)
ReplyDeleteI wonder what would be of Book 12, considering they've been using the trend of 4 issues per book so far. Would it be a 3 issue book then? Would they fill it up with something else?
Book 12 would have issues 49, 53, 54 and 55. Since Worlds Unite was covered by four series instead of three like Worlds Collide, only three issues of Mega Man are a part of it.
DeleteThey've been delaying Volume 9 for almost a year now. I've asked Archie a couple of times if they will ever start back up and I've been told yes, but I'm not sure if that means the graphic novels or the new "Master Edition" they recently announced for next May, or both.
DeleteI really hope they do both. I only have the graphic novels and I hate the idea of needing to buy all the single issues to get caught up, and the manga-sized Master Edition doesn't really appeal to me.
Well, the inevitable was coming. They just finally put a date to it. I'll miss you, comic. ;.;
ReplyDeleteFarewell, Archie Megaman. May we meet again someday. Preferably with fewer overstuffed crossovers and more cool arcs where Megaman works with other Robot Masters.
ReplyDeleteDon't know if anyone's mentioned, but the digital release is available.
