What would classic Mega Man look like running in Unreal Engine 4? A little something like this.
Shown above is a proof-of-concept Mega Man 3 recreation by YouTuber Handré De Jager built in UE4. Gemini Man's stage is looking as sharp as ever - the addition of the unused planet being a particular nice touch. With some additional work and polish, Mr. De Jager hopes to turn this into a full-blown fan-game!
Hey, I can dig it. Follow his channel for future updates!

ReplyDeleteThis is great! There is something kind of laid back about Megaman's run animation that looks very laid-back....but yeah, I want this!
ReplyDeleteThis is what Megaman Universe SHOULD have looked like.
ReplyDeleteI actually think if Mega Man 10 were made with the Universe engine while having the "Rockman" character model used for Mega Man, it would have been a great classic title, while maintaining that new coat of paint feel. Too bad they scrapped Universe in its entirety.
DeleteI'm not a huge fan of how Mega Man looks, but everything else looked really nice! I'd love to see a full game whether it's a simple remake or something new.
ReplyDeleteCertainly needs work, but I'm sold too!
ReplyDeleteIt's one guy doing all of this. And he is very receptive to constructive criticism.
ReplyDeleteNow that is something you don't hear every day. I like it when one-man or small-team units dig constructive criticism. I wish a few other folks with notable games had that level of interest in feedback.
DeleteWow that's beautiful, i hope we can play it too!
ReplyDeleteI'm ready.
ReplyDeleteI've been a bit spoiled by how good Mega Man looks in Smash, but for a single person this is really impressive.
ReplyDeleteThat Awkward moment when this looks better than MN9
ReplyDeleteEh I wouldn't go that far.
DeleteAside from Mega Man's walk animation, I would.
DeleteMN9 visually looks dull as hell with lifeless backgrounds and terrible enemy designs.
