Rockman EXE 5 (Both Versions) Coming to Wii U

After a brief pause in the Wii U Virtual Console drip, Japan is gearing up for two additional Rockman GBA classics next week: Rockman EXE 5: Team Blues and Rockman EXE 5: Team Colonel (702 Yen each).

No sign of Twin Leaders/Double Team DS at the moment. You'll have to settle on the original GBA versions for now. I don't think there's any 3rd party DS titles on Wii U yet, either. If that's the case, TL/DT may be a bit of a ways away if at all.

In the meantime, I'm sure we'll be seeing these two in North America and Europe in the near future. We'll keep an ear to the ground.

  1. Well it's an interesting situation when we think about it. Twin Leaders and the first two starforce titles have content accessed by having a Battle Network GBA game in the slot, with Twin Leaders varying based on the game iirc. Then there's also the content from Boktai in Japan too....

We may not even see Twin Leaders based on how much of a nightmare it may be for the content from the GBA slot compared to the Starforce games.

  2. YES. My favorite Battle Network entries.

I remember when I had the Bass Mark for BassCross on my cart, and like a week before I got DoubleTeam, the game tended to randomly lose my save data while it was in the GBA slot of my DS, until it finally vanished. I binged for four days just to get the Bass Mark back.

    It was worth it.

Also, Liberation Missions were freakin' awesome.

  3. Love the game, the music, and most importantly the Colonel redesign. Heh heh

Seriously though I freaken love that Colonel design I actually prefer it to the X design, that or I think they are evenly cool.

  4. 5 is much better than 4, and we all know that so we should be content. I wonder if they'll have graphical smoothing and better anti-aliasing for the Star Force games, if they ever happen to come out on VC; I'm also expecting MegaMan 64 to come out, but I hope they replace the audio with that in the original Legends game...

  6. Great. Now the liberation music will be stuck in my head for the rest of the day.

  7. BN5 had the worst narrative of the series, but man was it a blast to play.

  8. Now I wanna play as Colonel in an action game or two. Either one would do.

  9. Battle Network 5 was fun for me in a way that I used the GBA slot switching for the DS version to enhance my experience. I had my copies of BN 1-4 and used them to play specific net battle music in four segments: BN 1 when exploring the net before the story crisis, BN 2 for the story crisis (i.e. for when you must find your way to the Boss Navi who joins you after getting beat, i.e. the Cruise ship crisis with Napalm Man/Tomahawk Man), BN 3 when exploring the net before the Liberate Missions, & BN 4 for the Liberate Missions. I repeated this process for almost all of the game except for the final Nebula Grey level, where I used none of the games and heard BN 5's net battle music. It makes sense to me.
