Mega Man Legacy Collection for 3DS Supports Amiibo, Unlocks New Challenges
Capcom has confirmed Amiibo integration for the Nintendo 3DS version of Mega Man Legacy Collection. The game will include ten all-new challenges that can be unlocked with the Mega Man Amiibo. These challenges will be designed by you, the players.
Capcom Unity has put together a little contest to determine the results. They're tasking you with designing a challenge for one of the six games in the collection. Ten winners will be selected by a panel of judges based on overall quality and how well the challenge compliments the existing challenge list. The more creative and unique the challenge, the better your chances of winning.
You'll find the full rules and regulations here. Good luck! We'll see your challenges when the game launches on Nintendo 3DS in early 2016!

Why do they have to make this as complicated as possible? For people who want to make challenges that span multiple games, I mean. Why can't I just, for example, e-mail them and say "Beat all six Wily Machines using only the buster"? Isn't that much more simple than "Here's twelve timestamps. Also, my challenge has to be done without boss weapons"? *sigh* I guess that's their way to ensuring people are serious about their submissions. Or... something.
ReplyDeleteStill gotta appreciate it when TMMN did that interview with Ray Jimenez and asked why there wasn't a Wii U version, and instead the guy completely ignored the question and instead said to look forward to upcoming 3DS news. I guess this is what he meant.

Thanks for bringing this to my attention! I've gold ranked every challenge and I do feel there's a few level stretches that should've shown up in-game at some point. Now's my chance to help correct this, assuming I win.
ReplyDeleteCapcom-run contests always seem to have you doing some of the work for them. All you win for your efforts is a downloadable game (valued at $15 or less), some DLC, or get your work in a game. Essentially free labor. They save all that cash for people who play Street Fighter via the Capcom Cup tournaments.
ReplyDeleteCan we please do a kickstarter to fund the person that has to read the ideas? I feel so sorry for him that he or she will have to read all those ideas and then have us make them for them.....man fuck capcom
