Archie Mega Man: Master Edition Due Next Year
With Archie's Mega Man winding down, the publisher is looking ahead to 2016 with a different kind of trade paperback. Spotted at the BNC CataList, Mega Man: Master Edition Volume 1 aims to collect the first three graphic novels in a single book.
BCN lists the book as a manga-sized, portable volume spanning 336-pages. It's due out by May 16th, 2016 at $24.99 USD. As per usual with these early listings, Amazon has first dibs on pre-orders.

Sounds good. I've been holding out on this comic series because I didn't really want to spend a lot of money over many small volumes, and was hoping that a collected edition would eventually come out. Can't remember if there's been one already, but this one I may consider.

Well, I was pretty thrilled when I saw this mainly because it was a sign that Archie will release these "Master Editions" to include everything up to the final issue coming out in November. When I saw it was manga-sized though, it did dampen some of my enthusiasm, as I love the comic-sized graphic novels they've been releasing up to now.
ReplyDeleteArchie has been pushing the next graphic novel (Volume 9, the X crossover) back repeatedly, and I guess this is the reason why. A part of me does hope they keep releasing them alongside these, unless these Master Editions somehow have more content than the graphic novels would, then I would just go with these. Amazon still has the upcoming graphic novels on their site, although due to the repeated delays the release dates are all over the place. I guess time will tell what Archie's plans are.
